Can't even imagine running into Laurens in Tampa eating pizza and ice cream right after winning Daytona! Don't despair Dries, you'll figure out the issues and you have the pace. Congrats Laurens on the Daytona Overall, I'll be rooting for a result for you at LeMans this summer so you can keep Nick company. All the best to you both.
Team Belgium 🇧🇪
Rooting for #7 vanthoor, especially since I was in the Porsche suit for the race. But I was secretly hoping #24 BMW w dries and K Mag to win. Dries keep ur head up. Your gonna get ur day I'm sure of it
Congrats for the win Laurens! 👍🏻 Watching Dries still pushing the broken, bouncing BMW was unbelievable. Still being able to drive a car in such bad shape on the limit for quite a while was one of the most incredible things I‘ve seen in a while. Keep pushing Dries, your time will come… 🤞🏻 Also congrats to Nick Tandy for making history 👏🏻
34:46 seconde best fenta dawg me 😭😭😭
Amazing podcast once again. You'll bounce back Dries !
Ciao Ciao, you are special brothers as best drivers as well. I look forward to see you to the next race, thanks
This is such a wonderful, honest insight in to top notch racers’ emotions. Thank you both from all your fans for another thrilling race and this open hearted follow up conversation, even though you’re both obviously shattered. Chin Up and we’ll all be looking over your shoulders for the next instalment D🇬🇧
A shame what happened to Dries, but I was so happy to see both of you being at the top this weekend. As Laurens says, it's only a matter of time for Dries before he wins more big races.
stop the subtitles plz
The save dries did while fighting with the porsche at the end of the race was biblical 😅
It's porpoising, named after the porpoise aquatic mammal. For the way it jumps out of water - similar to how the car jumps up and down.
I was watching early in the morning, say 2AM-ish and KMag was crushing it. I mean...a second a lap or so faster than any one else. But then...a FCY, and on restart that pace sort of went away. Didn't fully understand that. It was an exciting finish for sure...thanks again guys (already left another comment on your IG)_.
Dries has kissed the bricks.......Laurens, have you kissed the bricks?
isn't kissing the bricks Indy 500 win?
any win there deserves a kiss.
Congrats Larry!! Slap that thing in a display case maybe? it was exciting to have you both in town and to watch your cars competing in the race! I think this is Dries first race here. I watched both of your POVs. and it was a wild finish to see both cars in contention for overall win. BMW will get their chance again. Glad you guys got home safely!
Dries gained so many new Americans fans over the weekend so he can be glad about that. Awesome race Laurens! I was really hoping to see you guys on the grid walk but there was so many people.
Watching your first stint in person Dries was awesome! Driver of the race!
Thanks to both of you. I love honest and open words, sometimes not completely perfect, but you both manage racing on a super high level.
So nice to see that Dries was making a few jokes towards the end of that one. Words of wisdom from big brother to little brother, and you definitely helped him along. Dries, you gotta remember that even the crappiest day driving a hypercar at Daytona, is still better than the best day I can have at work, staring at spreadsheets all day long! Keep up the great work guys, and I hope to be able to see you guys at Le Mans next year
and you staring at spreadsheets all day long is much much better than construction workers toiling heavy equipment and tools under the sun, when the boss ignores everything that has to do with OSHA just to save a few pennies.
It makes me sad watching Dries be so bummed.... On another note, Dries, what's your favorite watch you own, and what's on your watch wishlist?
What you owe your team is to be yourself-committed, fast, passionate, prepared. That's why they put you in. After that, chips will fall where they may, good or bad. The worst thing now is to overthink and get tight. Be loose, be yourself, and it will come to you. From a bird's eye perspective, it's the law of averages-sometimes high, sometimes low. Don't let the low wreck your mindset and cost you your inevitable high. It was amazing to watch the fighter in you never give up.
Super sympathisch die beiden..🔝🫶🏻👍🏻und voll auf‘m Bode geblieben. Two Cool and funny guy‘s..❤️😜
Hyrox? Good luck mate, stay hydrated always! (CrossFit guy here, so trust me.) Dries, bro don’t be too hard on yourself mate! You got this, s*it happens man, we fail, we pick ourselves up and we keep pushing forward!
This is probably the 'light' version of the Gatting-Gounon vibes when one wins and the other had a bad race. 😂 And Dries, you killed it out there and then got bad luck, can happen to anyone. Go get it next time bro! I really liked this episode, more of this ❤😊
When is Tandy coming on the pod? 🔥
Head up Dries, you were great and you will continue to be great. That Rolex will be yours someday. Best of luck in Bathurst!
Come on Dries, you did pretty well what you had to do but sometimes things dont go your way and that hurts but Just be positive bro. Dont dwell on it too much.
Dries, you are such an amazing person and you always bring a positive energy to the people around you! And you are an awesome racing driver, I know that a lot of people are looking up to you! I know this must be tough, especially because you are always giving your best, but you will get that M Hybrid V8 to success rather sooner than later. You were the fastest BMW driver for almost all of 2024 and your Team - your Engineers, your Machanics and your Fans - know this. This might not be important as I'm not involved, but I would not hesitate to put you in that car for the last stint again!
Congratulations Laurens! I hope Dries congratulated you in private😬
Potentially the brother's most 'touching' episode. quite possibly one of my fav episode. Congrats Lauren and Dries, don't be too hard on yourself. Go win Sebring!
oh thats right Dries is doing a whole IMSA season
Dries, don't be too hard on yourself. You did great. It will come.
Very happy for both of you. Are we going to see you at Bathurst this weekend?
41:29 What better way to celebrate a Daytona 24hr win than with three bowls of balls 🙂
As soon as the race ended, i immediately started wondering when this episode was going to be released! Cheers gents.
Congrats Laurens on winning the 24 hours of Daytona. You really deserved this win and I was cheering so much for this last weekend. You're a legend Laurens and I hope you win Le Mans on June to become too a Mr. 24h. And for Dries, I'm sorry for him what happened to him in last 2 hours of the race because he had too a great performance and he would deserve too a win. But I hope Dries never give ups because it will be a matter of time to see him winning major races too
Bet on #7 to win between friends, thanks Laurens :D
Hard to bet against the #7 - you did good!
huge congrats on the watch laurens!!! don't worry dries, you'll get it next time ;)
It’s a shame only one of you guys can win! 🤣 Such a pleasure to see you guys battle from the stands, great racing 🙌🔥
Wow Dries looks super enthusiastic in this episode !😅
Hoping that in June you'll match Tandy in being Mr. 24. Well done at Daytona, was a pleasure to watch that race in person.
Two amazing brothers - you’re both heroes in my books 🎉
Congrats both! Cant lie i was heartbroken for the #24 but happy to see you on the top step 😂
Congratulations man, proud of supporting you and let's keep pushing for an amazing 2025
goat x goat
Congratulations on ticking of this box on your resumé! Way to start the season both of you.
tune down the AI audio stuff, it went quite a bit too hard otherwise great podcast!
The Bahrain win 2 years ago was absolutely amazing! Great episode. Best of luck to all of you in Daytona.
Best trio in the world ❤
I'm german myself and after over 30 years, thanks to Dani I finally found out that it isn't the whole population which is socially stupid... it's just us germans. :D
