    I think you guys should do a live podcast. You could interact with the fans through live chat. Just a suggestion. Love your podcats!

    maybe this can be discussed on a future podcast Laurens but i'm interested to see what you and Dries make of the news that the Nurburgring 24 is going to be part of the IGTC for next season?

    Thanks for recording and posting, I really enjoyed that! Really interesting hearing about nutrition as well. It's fascinating to me with all of the data and analytics that go into performance, that the teams don't monitor and optimize driver nutrition as well. Its funny, a while back the owner of Hammer Nutrition said that he talked to Tony Kannan, who told him that only used Hammer products for his ironman races. The owner asked him what fuels he uses for his Indycar races, and he said none, just water. That really confused him.
    Good luck at Monza, and enjoy your holiday and the cycling. I'll be checking strava for Ventoux KOM. ;)

    Having watched a huge chunk of the race, a few things that stood out in my mind were the back marker cars ignoring blue flags for ages and not told by race control to stop doing it, the slowness in displaying FCY was also scary (iron lynx incident as mentioned)..
    so too was the Phantom FCY that had a bunch of cars coming to almost a halt then FCY suddenly disappearing, then seeing gounon immediately get onto full throttle then suddenly having to brake because the car in front of him suddenly got the phantom FCY and slowed down without warning warning...that I thought was just scary.
    But the worst offender I felt during whole race happened when the Inception 720s came to a halt, then moved a few meters, then stopped, then moved a few meters, then stopped. Race control was happy to let the team try to restart the car for 10 mins while the car basically stopped on track before declaring FCY. I mean....what? They want someone to have an accident before responding? Utterly disappointing.

      totally agree in regards to the Inception Mclaren that was a joke, the fcy needed to have been called for a lot earlier, i agree that you need to give a driver time to try and do the control alt delete reset to see if it gets the car going again but after that doesn't work throw the fcy, where it finally conked out for good that was a dangerous spot, i think it was Jules Gounon they were on board with at the time and that was a very close shave indeed

      @rory6065 perhaps we are being harsh and not giving the officials enough credit. BUT those that they were slow to call FCY or safety car were just too glaring obvious that even an armchair expert had no issue in identifying the need for FCY intervention earlier.

    Guys, those behind the scene podcasts are incredible. So much interesting things we can learn from it, keep it up! Laurens, the season is not finished yet, Porsche #6 on top before the end 😉. Dries, it's for this afternoon in Misano, congrats for your pole!

    24:11 I was asking myself the same thing, even a tow truck hit an AMG stuck in a gravel box in the morning. Those things need to be improved for next year for sure.

    I didn’t understand why you got a penalty for hitting the Ferrari but Rossi didn’t get one for hitting the #31 BMW? They looked like identical contacts.
    Early in the evening there was one of these “Fake FCYs” and it nearly caused a huge accident in Eau Rouge. Sainteloc Audi was still going FCY pace while others were accelerating.

    This year I was paying some more attention to blue flags at the marshallposts. It seems they are giving blue flags to everyone who is close to each other regardless if they are in a fight or 5 laps down. I can understand some drivers not caring about them anymore if the marshalls throw blue flags all the time.

    • @Dutch09
      @Dutch09 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Exactly that. I was standing at top of Raidillon and the marshal post gave blue flags to a battle for the fucking lead at like 4 hours to go. It was weird
