8 skills you can learn from creating videos on TH-cam
i was journaling daily and really love it, but since this nursing study begin i just have no energy to do it again, hopefully can do it again soon,😢
I want to start this hobby but i don’t know how i mainly use one as a to do list but it doesn’t feel correct i could simply use my phone for that it is something too simple to be wasting money and space over
What watch do you have on? Casio?
Yes sir! I believe it’s a Casio W217H
I’ve been hearing a lot about commonplace books on TH-cam lately, which to my understanding seem to be small personal reference books for noting bits of information, quotations, and one’s own thoughts and ideas for future reference. Your notebook idea seems to be a combination of commonplace book and personal journal. Is this true?
Yes you are correct! I typically mix up my uses for my notebooks, and most of them end up being a mix :)
Great video Eric, especially for a dad like myself.
Glad to hear it Brian! I’m sure life gets much busier with children!
I've been taking notes since I was at 4th grade
Love to hear it! Lots of wisdom there!
Very good video, and a great subject to mull over. *Grabs notebook to mull in ink.* That meaty stache is dragging 'round a wise fellow.
Haha appreciate you KB. Always seeking wisdom!
Even though I have already done everything you recommend here (I’m older I guess 😅), I have still found this video inspiring, comforting and validating. It’s made me look back and reflect on how far I’ve come as a person, thanks to moving towns several times and countries twice, thus far. Not something I ever thought I was capable of when I was growing up. I so often forget and neglect to pat myself on the back! Thank you so much, Eric!
That’s so awesome Catherine! Happy to hear that. Good on you for making it happen. Maybe someday I’ll live overseas for a season of life! :)
Thank you, I’ve always associated note books with to-do lists, not just to write down my thoughts. This could help me with some of my stress.
Glad to hear it! I find writing things down most definitely helps my stress and anxiety. Feels great to keep things in order and check them off :)
I've been debating whether to have 2 separate channels -- one for professional/put-together content and another for more personal videos, vlogs, and thought pieces. this must be my sign to stick to 1 channel, at least starting out. thank you for this
Glad to hear this Danya! I'm a big fan of combining all your interests into one and simplifying the creative process this way! Keep it up 🙂
❤
Much love!
Hey Eric, what you're saying is 100% true, it feels so good to put your phone down and just be present for some moments! Btw, what are some of the biggest problems you faced while learning how to write?
So true Arthur! Hmm, I'd say one of the main ones for me was consistency and overcoming perfectionism when sharing my work.
@@ericpfohl Hey Eric, thanks a lot for your answer! I've asked many writers the same question and consistency was one of the most answered ones! Do you mind sharing more on how did you overcome it, or what do you suggest others do to overcome it?
I'm guessing the irony of the content of this video getting watched on YT isn't lost on you.
Haha I know it’s ironic! I find it’s best to remind people where they’re already at! Plus, I’m not opposed to phones - just the misuse of them with without realizing it :)
I don't know what to write. I am paralyzed by the blank page

Write that you don’t know what to write.
If this happens to me I doodle.. just draw lots of tiny circles or stick men, or anything. If a sentence comes to mind right it down, if not it doesn't matter.
Thanks
Thanks for the love!! I appreciate you watching, glad it could be helpful!
So trivial/random: Where's your wedding band from? I dig it! Also, great content as always!
Haha thanks! It is from Mejuri - they have some cool stuff. Not sure of the exact one though. I appreciate ya following along!
thx super mario
You’re welcome! 🥸
💯 Great advice 🙏 Thank you
Happy to hear it, thanks! 🙏
At least you can grow a mustache! I'm 42 and can't lol. Good advice on the video. Plant and setup looks good brother.
Haha it feels strange without it. Thanks man!
I have been using the Neo Smartpen for years and easy way for me to jot down notes using a digital pen with ink and paper. I also use Eink devices which I find a great way to take notes and brainstorm. Being able to search my notes is key.
Sounds like a great setup! I'll have to look into the smartpen!
Thanks 😊😊😊
🙏 Thanks for watching!
My Apple Watch allows me to use my phone less. Just saying! Haha.
Okay now that I think about it a bit more, I could see why this would be the case haha. I guess it's more so the distraction aspect of it for me - but I understand how it'd allow you to check things without pulling out your phone! Thanks for the input man!
@@ericpfohl No problem! I essentially set it so my watch only get's text notifications and calls. So I can put my phone away somewhere, but can still be reached. Less of a temptation to look at my phone, etc.
That’s a great setup, my minds been changed as long as you use your watch like you do haha
Hah! First again. Suck it everyone else. I guess i'm already following the rules though as clearly being online to smash Like 5 minutes after a 7 minute video was posted and I clearly am not busy.
🤣
Thank you.
You’re welcome 😄 Thanks for watching!

I use a Zebra F-301 (0.7mm). Love em!
I’ve been looking around for advice but this is the best video I’ve seen, it’s clear and concise, thank you!
Wow, thanks so much Catherine! So glad to hear that!
