Does KTM Have The Best Stock Suspension In 2024?
Do you think the CRF felt plusher than the new FX?
thanks man very helpful 👍👍
Husqvarna all day I have the 350 and the 250 best 👌 bike ever
The 350s absolutely amazing! The yz is just so nimble!
Its funny the difference in feeling. The 350 weighs 243 wet and the Yamaha weighs is also 243 pounds. It would be interesting to see what or if you could make the bikes feel the same. I too love my WP forks on my EX350F however Yamaha has always been known for the "hidden" power in their bikes. My buddy has a 450FX and the bike is just an absolute monster of a bike. That was an amazing save Kyle made there. I would have died twice on that.
Yeah its crazy the yamaha feels easy 10 pounds lighter! The new spring forks on the 350 are so good! Haha yeah kyle had a 2022 yz450fx and it was such a beast! Hahah yeah I thought kyle was going down hard!
I’d definitely take the fx350
It's a super hard choice for me! The 350 power is absolutely perfect! But the nimbleness of the 250fx is just so amazing!
@ I have a 350 & a tx300 so get best of both worlds
After owning a 23 YZ250FX I still love my 24 350XW-F a lot better. Power and handling are better for me anyways
I need to try the xwf version some day!
you had the 350 in the white map, maybe why it felt so smooth. I'd be really interested to hear yz250fx vs 250XCF comparison
Yes true I kept it in white! I had 2 different maps on the 250 and even in the softer map it still felt quite snappy! I'd love to ride the fx back to back with an xcf! I habe a few other bikes lined up to test against it ill be trying to find a 250xcf as well! I rode one at a demo day but it was 2 laps on a motocross track so I didnt have much time on it i do recall it being very smooth as well!
Does it got a lot of botton end? And is it snappy?
Yes and yes! Honestly felt 450 like some times! I might even get a g2 throttle tamer to chill out the initial snap on the throttle. I'll ride it a few more times before doing any mods though!
Hey again, curious if you've ridden a wr450f or a yz450fx? On the fence about the 2025 wr250f or wr450f. I kinda prefer slower to mid-speed riding. Never going balls to the walls. Would the 450 be too much for a small guy like me? Worried I'd have a hard time selling a 250 when that day would come...feel like everyone wants a 450. Moab and Rocky Mtn riding.
Ok so ive never ridden a wr450. However I have a lot of seat time on the yz450fx and it is an absolute monster! So much power it was honestly hard to ride because it was so blazing fast and powerful. I've owned 3 450s and none of them had the speed and power of the 450fx. And as for resale value I'd say exact opposite! Much easier to sell a 250 than a 450. I had a 250fx and buddy had the 450fx. My 250 had so much interest and it sold in less than a week. The 450fx took months to sale and even took lowering the price a bit! I feel like people are going away from 450s and riding 350s 250s or 300s instead! Even my local shops have insane deals on 450s because they can't get them sold but all their 250s are sold
@utmx thank you very much for the quick and informative replies!! Alright, I'm going 250....once I decide between WR or YZ. THANKS!!! 🤙
Where you ridin my guy
Utah! This is called soldiers pass. Where you from?
You guys in America n shit got it good for riding whether I’m in Canada and I go riding so fast on my raptor 700 in -10 to -15 degrees in the winter🤣🤣
Hahaha yeah that's to cold for me haha! We definitely have states that are just as cold as Canada but yeah utah only has a few negative temp days per year
350 all day... but 300 two stroker is the best
My main bike is a tx300 it's so dang good! The 350 definitely has advantages on hills and overall speed but the 250 wins in the nimble department!
@@utmxhow does the low rev lug-ability feel on the 350?
If you could only pick one for Harescrambles would you pick the Yz250fx or tx300?
Ah man don't make me choose hahah honestly possibly the fx. Up on high my single track with lots of roots and rocks i choose the 300 no doubt. But any type of higher speed flow I choose the fx hands down
I don’t think I have ever heard anyone say an MX bike would be LOWER power than an enduro/XC bike… 🤔
Watch some videos on the 2024 yz250f. Everyone is mad because it has no low end power. Even justin starling a pro supercross rider said he'd choose this fx model over the f. Everyone with the 2024 and 25 250f is doing mods right away because they are very low on power. The main mod they do is the airbox mod and this fx model comes already with an updated airbox. Generally yes mx bikes are more power but on these 2 bikes specifically the fx definitely has more power. I'll be riding it back to back with the f model hopefully soon
@@utmxI have watched loads on the 2025 YZ and YZ FX. Several have said the YZ has worse bottom end than prior years but I’ve not heard a single person say the FX is faster… what possible reason would Yamaha have for doing that? I haven’t ridden the 2025s so I don’t know, but that would be insane for Yamaha to do that. Jay Clarke just put out a video on the FX and mentioned riding the stock YZ and intimated the opposite 🤷🏼♂️ Another TH-camr just tried a YZ then bought an FX and he hasn’t said the FX felt faster. Will be interested to hear your thoughts when you back to back them.
@Mockle07 i mostly mean low end power. The fx definitely feels like it's got a bit more of low end power. I can't speak for high rpm. The yz250f is known for being able to stretch gears and ride in really high rpms and rip! This was a break in ride so I didnt wanna stretch it out to much! I'll be doing back to back vs the 2025 crf 250r works edition as well as a 2024 yz250f anniversary edition as soon as the weather permits and then ill really be able to tell the difference in motor characteristics!
@ Yeah you did specify low end so that was clear. I wonder if it’s a gearing thing? I’m only curious as a WR250 is high on my ‘next bike’ list. (I’m in the UK by the way - our WR is the same as your FX but with a headlight… it’s not the same as your choked up dual sport WR.) It’s hard to get test rides here though, hence the reliance on user feedback on the Tube!
I ride a 79 yz250 it's great off-road restored it myself
That's awesome man i love the old school bikes!
A true legend
Can you make a vid I’m interested
Those damn Yamaha guys. Lol
Hahahahaja so funny
I have a brand new one too ima go to the track soon I’m so excited
Congrats man! Let me know how it does on the track! I rode it on a little track but it's to small to make a real impression on how it handles moto!
I have a 24 yz250fx and I tell everybody. It's a 250 with the heart of a 450 because all I did was a powerflow kit and it's almost unmanageable 😂 it adds sooo much bottom throttle hit but absolutely amazing bike for small displacement
Haha yeah it's crazy the amount of power on this thing! Most 250s feep super dull but this bike is very lively haha
I wanted to buy a YZ250FX when I was last in the market for a new dirt but there were none available anywhere. I ended up getting a 2022 Husqvarna TE250i and have regretted it ever since. I used to own many two strokes back in the day but had a 2003 KTM 525 EXC that I kept for almost 20 so I’m more of a four stroke guy now. Looks like a super fun place to go riding. May I ask where it is? I’m moving to northern Nevada soon and looking forward to having millions of acres of desert to explore soon. Thanks for the awesome video.
Yeah man i had the same issue in 2022 I wanted the fx so bad and had to drive 5 hrs to get one! I love both 2t and 4t! I have a husky tx300 as well. This bike is soooo fun in the fast flowy stuff! This trail is in utah near utah lake!
you are in to high of a gear ride it you have 14k rpms you are in like 5000
Just getting used to it first lol suspension was deflecting and it's my break in ride so I purposely was keeping the rpms down
Nice review. Looks like yall got a pretty nice trail system.
Thanks for watching! Yeah man we have amazing trails here from desert to dunes to high mt forest single track!
I'm a 2T man all the way, but if there is one 4T I would secretly ride, that's the one! hehe.
Hahahaha i feel ya man! I almost always ride 2 stroke but man this bikes fun
Great info,im keeping my eye on this bike,,just not sure whats better up here in New England trails,,my ktm 250xcw or this baby.
Ah it's hard to choose haha! My other bike is a tx300. I will say whenever the trail is really rocky rooty or rough I definitely like the 2 stroke better. But as soon as the trail gets any type of flow and speed then this 250fx is the most fun you can have on a bike!
@@utmx ok,ya i race harescrambles where Ben Kelley and Johnny Gorior grew up racing,,very technical rocks and roots,,good ole new england haha
@@tmlpony try and find someone with one and ride with them and switch for a little bit out on your ride! its a great Harescramble bike thats for sure!
@ good idea,im probably gonna buy one and keep the ktm250xcw,,have the best of both worlds ha
@tmlpony good plan! I support this decision haha
Trash
Subbed. What's the fork like stock? I weigh 140, is it harsh? And are the bars rubber mounts, if you know? Trying to decide if I want a new wr250f or the yz250fx. Considered the yz250x, but kinda want to stay 4 stroke. I think. Never owned a 2 stroke.
Hey I weight 165 and so far the front forks are a bit harsh. I'll mess with clickers and see if i can get them working better for me. I had a 250x as well. Very fun bike but pretty violent! I like the ktm 300s better for my 2 stroke. I've only ridden 1 wr250 and it was a bit older. This bike has 5x the amount of power and snap of the wr! All depends on your riding and where you ride! This bike is very good for all around. Desert, dunes, moto, single track! Where as the wr would be mostly single track and more chill riding compared to the fx! Where do you mostly ride?
@utmx The San Juan's in CO. Moab UT on the weekends. I'm kind of thinking the new wr250F might be the route I should go. Heard the suspension is a tad softer, and after uncorking will still have decent enough power. Currently just putting around on a crf250F (air cooled and impossible to stall) but the suspension hits its limits quickly. GREAT little bike especially with IRC VE33 tires. Had a wr250R and put 40k miles on it, amongst other bikes too. Wr250F might be the one 🤔 I ride a ton, it's all I love to do
@cbrmike69 that ve33 is the best tire ever! Awesome man I love moab im in utah moab is about 4 hrs away for me. Yeah you will like the wr more than your honda! Get it man you will love it! Let me know what you end up getting!
Looks sick!
You need to try this bad boy!!!
I just picked one up and broke it in as well. Running the Keefer torquey free feel map and it's pretty good, will have to try out the free feel 2.0 to compare. I was also surprised about how light it feels, coming from a 250 two stroke the 250FX doesn't feel heavy at all, it's awesome! KYB is incredible out of the box too. so far so good!
I got that map to ill have to try it next! It's insane how nimble it feels!! Can't wait to put more hours on it!
Would you be happy as a sole bike? Also, do you think it will do ok up AF and similar trails?
That's the big question haha. My problem is i love 2 strokes and 4 strokes so I always want what I don't have so ill probably keep this and my 300. I had a 2022 and rode it up af a ton and it did great! It will never be as good as a 300 but as far as 4 strokes go it's definitely one of the best!
C’ant wait for spring i am going to get this bike🔥🔥
Do it!!!! All I wanna do is go ride it haha so good!
THis was the bike I was waiting on, then found a 23 GasGas EX350F for a screaming deal. Maybe in another year. Thanks for the review.
You got a good bike as well! Those 350s are some of my all time favorite bikes!!
Hey I’m 5,8 and was wondering if I’m tall enough for a crf250rx
Absolutely! I'm only 5,9. Look up pro motocross racers height. The goat greatest of all time Ricky charmichael is shorter than you! At first it may be a little intimidating but you get used to the height quickly! You can get lowering links to drop it 2 inches if desired but it ruins the feel of the bike. You will love that crf I'd say go for it and get used to it! Do slow moving figure 8 drills and you will get used to the height and it helps with clutch control and balance
@@utmxI’m not a beginner but I’m a trail rider and was wondering if the torque is bad
@@Full_throttle91 its a really great bike as far as 4 strokes go its one of the best. i personally like the ktm 350xcf more as well as the yz250fx but its very close 3rd place for me! its pretty smooth! the 350 is the smoothest and overall best 4 stroke for trail riding if you dont want a 2 stroke
@@utmx one more thing what is the difference between low end torque and high end torque and does the crf250rx have low end torque or high end torque
@Full_throttle91 the rx has more low end. It's basically just where the thumpy power is. Either low rpms or high rpms. Usually trail bikes have more low end and then motocross bikes have a little more balance of high and low. You can change the torque by getting different sprockets with different teeth count
Very very pretty bike. But? Can it beat a 2 stroke?😂
Hahaha I guess we'll see! I'll be comparing it to my tx300 and my buddies yz250x
Where ya gonna get a 250X to compare?
I still own one. Got the title to prove it
@utmx go outside and take a picture of it right now.
Bro has a infinite money glitch
I wish!
Mines on order now...cant wait...going from A 22 to a 25 WE 250
Awesome man you will love it! The 25 is so much better! Let me know once you get it!
Looking forward to your spring/summer videos on this bike.
Me too haha! It sucks it snowed the day I got it... I'm excited to put it up against kyles 350! I was sooo close to getting an xcf350. If ktm ends up doing any sales like I keep hearing about then I'm gonna get a 350 hahaha
@ I love my 350. Perfect amount of power and also love the PDS suspension.
@fattie2550 which 350 do you have? I thought you had linkage suspension
@ 2024 KTM 350xw-F uncorked with ecu tune. Comes with PDS
@fattie2550 ok awesome! Yeah I thought you had the xcf! Sweet bike man I bet it's super fun!
Damn. Went back to Team Blue
Haha I still have my tx300! 1 for woods and then the yamaha for desert and moto!
@ Hell yeah man.
Minttttt
🤙🤙🤙🤙💥💥💥
I wish I had a 250 so bad
Those 250s are awesome!
Dream bike ❤❤❤
Save up and get you one mate!!
Looks like a 2024… lol
Haha look em up mate! Different graphics...not to mention the 2025 is a complete redesigned bike for the 250fx compared to the 2024 so they aren't even close lol
@ I was joking… I don’t need to look em up. I see them everyday. I work for a Yamaha dealer here in Michigan.
@@Nvenus27 hahaha! Bet that's a fun job!
Yz250x all the way Yamaha got it right 20 yrs ago lol
The 250x is such a great bike!
KDX 300 electric start 😅
They all have electric start
@ I am talking about a two stroke 300 with a electric start for enduro riding the old KDX 200 were legendary
@aaronsilcock958 hahah ah man i dream of the day they make a new version of that!!
@ so good
B E A U T I ful had my 96 cr125 sent of and custom painted back in the day plastics and all candy apple red oh how I loved that ripper
I bet that looks awesome!!
👋
Me too!
They’re not supposed to idle long. Ride it like a carb bike. You can also go up a heat range on the plug, it’ll help a bit
Only happened the 1 time then no issues!
@ did it happen when running gas from the dealer?
@ryanboening yes at least part of the tank was dealers gas
Euro bikes have to many problems. In my riding group it's always the euro bikes having issues. Loading up, fuel filters, fouling plugs, efi, fuel pumps. Meanwhile me and the other Japanese bikes are out riding.
The Japanese bikes are definitely mechanically sound! I've had ktms for 5 years and never really had much issues but the odd easy fix here and there! But your right the Japanese bikes are a great platform that are definitely built well!
Are 2023 models available
I'd think only in the used market. I do see a lot of used bikes in my area. But shops won't have any 23s anymore. Lots of good deals going on for 24 modles though
You should give that bike to someone who knows how to ride it.
It actually got stolen a few months back! I still have the title, though and know who stole it so I'm gonna send the cops to his house
@utmx it's definitely in better hands now.
@highspeedchace really? I never broke it.... you broke it and dented the pipe... poor thing will never be the same
@utmx yeah cuz it actually gets down ridden now.
