can u hear the rear end now that u did this
Yeah everything is a bit louder but not terrible
@@dirtcheapmedia3390 any better gas mileage and do u still have the car
how do you determine which way to point the arrow?
On the cam gear synchronizer tool?
@dirtcheapmedia3390 yes, do you point it at the circular indention on the time cover? Thank you so much for the videos BTW!
@@arikyates as long as engine is at top dead center you can install the cam gear synchronizer pointed in any direction as long as the cap tool is on. The only difference is trying to install the plug install and removal easier.
@dirtcheapmedia3390 much appreciated brother!!
Womp womp. We all do it though. Keep practicing it.
That’s not me just some car from the drag and drive event circuit day two
You're a moron for buying this useless property!
More like John deer getting with it.. wtf
Yeah it’s the one from rmrw
What took you to Ukraine?
I’m confused? What do you mean?
@@dirtcheapmedia3390 It looked like a bomb was dropped on it.
@thisisyourcaptainspeaking2259 lol 😂 now it did. Previous owner started tearing it down but had lots of flat tires and gave up. We got a good deal on it. We have everything down now and are starting to have a better idea of how everything looks.
Sounds healthy! I’m still in the long process of building mine.. Lol
They can get pricy compared to others. I’m currently getting pieces for efi port injection to do a turbo setup. The cam sync distributor just came in today. Good luck on your project
@@dirtcheapmedia3390 Heck yeah they can! lol. I have flat tops, big cam 248/252 @ 109, heads slightly worked, Edelbrock intake, Roller Rockers, headers, everything is ARP studded, rear sump for my truck, going 850 Holley ( I want to do the sniper but on a budget, oddly I’m close yet not at the same time 😂 Keep up the content brother!
@@SWBjr15 this is a 243/251 cam 103 centerline with 8.5:1 compression. One of my other videos has the full engine breakdown. It is Holley 750, edelbrock intake, slightly worked over heads, roller rockers, cam, and eBay block hugger headers. I now have bulldog intake the the fuel injector bungs, 4150 elbow, throttle body, fuel rails, coils, ecm, accessory fuel tank, fuel pump, 92/103 turbo, bbc headers to modify into turbo headers, 4in air to air intercooler my last big expense is injectors and wastegates
@@dirtcheapmedia3390 My goodness! That Nova is gonna move! Already moves nice, but with boost and the fuel setup it’s gonna be mean! I saw a twin turbo kit online and it really intrigued me, but I’m finishing the trans build and rear end narrowed etc so I’ll be N/A for awhile. I did gap the rings for up to a 150 shot but if I do run spray I’ll only do 100. Also I’m running the MSD billet distributor, and Rev limiter box. My cam and stuff is specked to 6200 but I’m going to set it to 6K max just to be safe. I think my compression will be 9.25:1 if I specked it right lol. I’ll check out that video with your full build specs!
@SWBjr15 you running the msd 85141 distributor? Good friend of mine recommended boost over nitrous for reliability and consistency. We’ll just have to see how it goes as I am able to afford more parts. Me and my wife just bought a piece of property so that I could build a shop in the future that is taking a bunch of time resources.
I had a 1965 Chevelle SS when I was a teenager and I would drag race with it. It would run❤
My dad had an old 67. But it’s long gone now. Still has plenty of cars to play with though
I own a 68 Coronet as well. Cool to see you saved this one!
That’s awesome. They’re pretty sweet cars however, I don’t know if mine will ever technically be truely “saved”. lol
@@dirtcheapmedia3390 do your best :p

I love it got one in my yukon
Good little muffler
I got this on my 01 ykon with high flow cats...not loud inside the cab at all no drone ...when i put the second one on ..i expect the same results
Yeah it’s a really good muffler in my opinion
Question, with this muffler would it pass smog regulation in California?
@phantomsage4827 a muffler should not change omissions therefore it should be able to pass. That being said my state doesn’t have emissions testing.
@@dirtcheapmedia3390 okay thank you! I’m new to the car modding scene so I’m trying to learn as much as possible before any mods are made

I have 3.55 in that blue 2 dr 4x4 vid.you commented on and al my other 3rd gens have 3.92s...i really cant tell a huge difference thanks to the 5.7s
The 1/8 mile is a bit slower and I can’t tell either going down interstate but cruising in hilly curvy roads around 55-60 it keeps kicking down to 3rd and 4th to pull hills so unless I speed up to 65 or slow down to 50 it keeps doing it. Overall it’s worth it to not hear howling anymore and to not be worried to hook a trailer up. Please subscribe if you haven’t already
@dirtcheapmedia3390 right on. Yeah I had the rear end pinion lock up and snap off on the blue 4x4 2 dr. Luckily I was going about 10 mph and not on the highway or it could have been really bad
@@dirtcheapmedia3390 also do more 3rd gen ram content
@@MidnightPolaris800 wish I had more to do. Maintenance it needs a power steering pump (boring). I changed trans fluid/filter at 300k miles. It has a lift and runs flawless. It needs new rear springs but I’m out of money.
Always fun accomplishing your own axle swap...good job man
Yeah it feels significantly different driving on two lane roads now but it needed a new diff unfortunately.
I'd love to see more videos of this car! I'm putting together a '68 myself
I’ll upload more when it warms up a bit. I ran tight on money and have been busy with work. I have a driveshaft sourced that I will shorten and I’m planning to make a wing for it
this sounds pretty good, sadly the mufflers have about doubled in price, still really not bad for the ~$60 they go for these days. I've had a single in dual out cherry bomb extreme on my 95 5.2 v8 ram for awhile and it's honestly wayyyy too loud, something like this or a magnaflow glasspack that's supposedly better made and sounds better than thrush/cherry bomb stuff may just be what I end up getting. Without very many miles whatsoever on it the cherry bomb has started to bubble, flake paint off, and rust a little here and there
The paint burns off on these but still sounds good.
For sale?
No I just had the turbo show up and am saving up for injectors
What trans
Bop 400
This thing is a monster
After working on them for 25 years since 1985 Heads need major porting Distributor won't fit 7nder most car hoods Oiling system can lose prime Need flexplate modded for chevy converter Intake manifold flows uphill Hard to find rear sump and pickup for gm apps Heavy rotating weight Low rpm peak power No manual trans hole in crank Mix heads wrong and issues arise Smog motors are dogs Valvetrain worst design ever of any engine Very costly Can't get certain cad companies to even answer the phone Hard to find in junk yards now Tons of bolts in timing cover Won't bolt to chevy trans, bop Stock Intake won't take holley carb Oil shaft lose in pump gears can fall out Timing gears flake apart Non adjustable drivetrain Long push rods Many don't run on pump gas good point Great block, thickest cylinder wall. Bloodviking master engine builder
There’s a few options for valvetrain has a couple options to improve it. (440 Mopar and upgrade shaft style). Heads need improvement for n/a at 500 cu. In. But boost can help offset it. Peak power and rotational weight is improved with rods/pistons which helps smogs as well, timing gears are easy to replace with a cam. Definitely have their issues but seems to have a decent potential for a budget engine. Ported iron heads, 440 Mopar valve springs, rods and pistons, cam, and a block girdle. It seems possible for $2500 in a long block that can handle 1000 hp at 6k rpm.
Scott Hatch has remedied all of the 'issues' !
@@user-mm1se7gy7e seems like the group at cadco has. I don’t want to discredit the gentleman who passed away at cadco recently
@@dirtcheapmedia3390 I didn't take that as discrediting, that was Courtney Hines that passed away. , Scott Hatch has turned CadCo around , doing some more very cool 500/472 stuff right now , Scott has built some truly impressive Caddies over the past 30 years .
@@user-mm1se7gy7e absolutely, but it seems that they have not ventured much into the drag and Drive world with Cadillacs from what I can tell. Visiting with them, it sounds like they don’t know if a Cadillac oil pump can support a turbo for sustained use. They know dry sumps can.
Question

Is the floor solid ? Are you planing on wrapping it or carpeting the floor wrapping meaning dyno mat
@@AnnoyedSpiderWeb-xd8me floor has some rust but not bad. I installed a piece of sheet metal over it on drivers side and formed it to trans tunnel with a hammer. I layed down some cheap carpet as well so it wouldn’t be exposed metal. I still need to do passenger side though

@@dirtcheapmedia3390 I built a 403 several years ago with 7 heads, a Howards roller cam, RPM intake, for a gbody Cutlass which 2.73 gears. It’d blaze the tires just stomping on it.
@jimmy_olds oh id believe it. Only thing this thing needed was more compression from the better flowing heads and a looser converter.
@@dirtcheapmedia3390 I hear ya man. If I ever build another 403, it’s getting big block heads with flat tops. Stock SBO heads are terrible, mine even had bigger valves and some bowl work.
Looks good and sounds awesome. Keep up the good work.
Trying my best
Mopar twin scoop air cleaner? And you chopped it??? Well it's your air cleaner, you still have that right to cut it up. I would have bought you a new chrome one to trade
Pretty observant. Yeah tbh I don’t remember why we decided to do that. It was when I was in high school.
But then I wouldn’t have the cool air cleaner lol. 😂
Super excited to have the cutlass back up and running and seems pretty healthy. More videos on 350 coming soon
Sounds good 👌
What cam?
Big daddy rattler. Cadco sells a cam that will make more power with same lift. Give them a call if you’re after performance. Rattler if you’re after sound
You can make your car a lot more daily drivable with a gear vendors, It’s an overdrive unit and with 4.10s it would cruise like it has 3.20 gears instead on the highway plus you can split gears making it an 8 speed manual
Yeah they only cost money
What cam is that. Sound good.
Big daddy rattler. According to cadco. They make a different cam with better profile that will make equal hp and more torque while still allowing you to use stock rocker assembly, however it doesn’t sound as choppy. I plan to switch eventually.
Sorry I meant it makes more hp while picking up some torque as well. My bad
@@dirtcheapmedia3390 Howard Rattlers are my go to. The mid range is second to none. They fall off fast but there great for motors that wont see over 6000. I run one in my 488 olds stroker and my buddy runs one in his mopar powered Lark drag car.
@wildrosegarage4208 supposedly cadco offers a cam with more torque but similar hp. I’ll be looking into it next time
@@dirtcheapmedia3390 oh course they do lol. I have a Caddy 500 I was going to build and looked at there cams but I dont think they show there grinds. Theres may have a longer range but I doubt it would peak the same as yours with a 109lsa it has . And in a strip car with some stall and gear peak is where its at. In wouldnt waste my time and run what you have if it were me just my 2 cents.
Did it come with angled washers . I have an earlier one that did not need them. I gave up on carbs with mine.the sniper works far better with no stumbling.i have a video on my channel smashing it at 40 in second gear breaking loose a little. Watch all your videos.love the cadillac content.
No it did not the clamping area has recessed holes that are angled. I have purchased a terminator and I’m planning to do port injection so I will run into a whole set of issues to do that. But I think the Cadillac platform is worth the money to spend it on. Thanks for watching
Sorry I haven’t uploaded in a while I started a new job and am fun starting to settle in. I have a couple videos on standby. Have a great day
Sorry I meant push rod not shaft
I’ll be honest I have now idea what you’re talking about at this point. Pushrods can’t fall down unless the lifters fall as well. Idk I’m not there to look at it 🤷♂️
In addition to previous question the shaft fell out as I took off oil pump can I put the shaft back up through the oil pump without timing issues?
Late reply but 99% sure the answer is yes. I think I had to do the same thing on mine as well it wouldn’t affect timing unless you removed the cam gear synchronizer.
So I took my camshaft off as well as my oil pump in my 04 Ford freestar 4.2. So can I put the shaft back in as it was when I took it out if I didn't do anything else?
Assuming you didn’t wipe out cam bearings and lifters didn’t drop I don’t see why not
Good show!
Thanks bud
just found your channel will theses seats fit my 74 nova wit a bench seat?
Idk 🤷♂️ I don’t own a 74. I imagine they’re pretty similar I’d recommend removing the bench seat before you try to put the seats in though

Yeah 😞
Hey . Did you put 350 heads on 403, dont see a video. Trying to build 403 , Just to get a ideas?
