How to Adjust the Rear Brake Lever on the Triumph Tiger 900 GT Pro
Sidenote: the bobber and rogue do not have the same motor. The bobber has more HP. Different cylinder heads. That’s why they are shiny sliver versus black on the rogue
@ 2:10 you said same engine*
Good video… random one, what tyres are you riding?
Those tires were the Shinko 804 / 805 Big Block Adventure Touring Tires. I think I got about 5k miles out of them before changing.
I can't find a video about the crash bars? which ones did you go with? they seem to be holding up pretty well. Great videos!
I didn't do a video on the crash bars due to camera issues while filming the installation. They are called AKURAT from Costa Rica. At the time I could only fine them on Facebook and I had to email them my bike information to get a quote and place an order. They work well but the fitment wasn't great. I was one of the first people to try their 2020-2023 crash bars and skid plate on the 2024. They had to make some updates and it was still off in some areas i.e. the oil drain hole was not aligned on the skid plate and the bolt holes on the crash bars were difficult to line up Hopefully, they've update the product since then.
For those that have installed these...I just picked these up and will be replacing some shorty slipons with the rampages. The shotgun Pipes I have are just way too loud. In the video you mention a spacer that you'll reuse after taking off the OEM pipes. I don't have that spacer on my bike as I don't have the original mufflers and my shorties don't use that connection so it is an empty hole on my bike. How important is this spacer. Will I need to visit a local Indian dealer to see about obtaining one?
I couldn't tell you how important that piece is for sure. Without it there I think there will be a large hole and nothing to mount the front part of your bracket to right?
Yes, I confirmed with Mykah Dean that without it the mounting plate sent with the pipes will not be flush with the bike's mounting bracket. Thanks for the reply!
The back tire had great reviews and that front was trashed pretty hard. I’m going to buy that gps for the back but I am going to try to run a similar tire on the front. Do you have any ideas? Do you dig your set?
I like them fine but the front is louder that I expected sounds like it’s more knobby than it really is.
I have the same bike and love it, but you are right, if you want to do more off-road riding this isn't the best bike. What was your experience with the crash bars? You said you wouldn't do it again but it looks like they prevented some damage when you slipped. I'm looking into getting some bars but there are issues with that bike as we all know. Not sure what is the best option. I'd appreciate any feedback. Thanks. Good move with the Rally Pro. 👍
Thanks. The Outback Motortek crash bars worked great in my experience. They took some really hard hits. I’ve seen a lot of people reporting broken or damaged frames with several brands of crash bars so that makes me nervous. I don’t particularly like the look of the Triumph crash bars but would expect that if anything happened you’d have a better chance of a warranty claim. Either way it’s a risk. Without them you’ll most certainly damage the tank and plastics so there’s that to consider. I took a chance with AKURAT crash bars on my Rally Pro and so far no issues. They taken a few decent hits.
Sit on the bike the suspension will drop enough to get those old exhaust bolts out easy with another person.
Yea that’s what I did but had to do it solo so it took a little work. Thanks for watching.
@@timetomoto thanks for putting it up, I just wish I had found it before I installed mine.
Thank you for Video! Really easy to apply, now understood. ONE important question for you, has the fuel consumption increased? Have you noticed considerable difference (increasement) fuel consumption? What is the your actual consumption liter per 100km? Thanks in advance mate.
I didn’t notice an increase in consumption. I no longer have the GT Pro and I don’t recall exactly what the fuel consumption was after this modification.
I wonder how it would fare with the stock tyres. I don't have the funds to switch to 80:20 tyres yet, the bike's done only 5000 kms so far.
I don’t have the GT pro anymore but the tires make a huge difference. The stock tires will get you there though. It just makes the handling feel squirrely.
I just bought an identical bike and found your channel. You are going to be a huge resource for me. Thanks.
congrats on the new bike
I’m lost. I just copied you exact set up. The problem is the Evotech mount was for a peak design case. Where did you find the bracket to fit you zumo to that evotech mount?
Nevermind. I ordered the wrong mount. Ugh!
Thank you for the video. I have the same bike and same handle bar protectors (well Chinese copy, working just perfect) I'm wondering if you changed the front bolts for largers? Or still run the protection with one bolt?
I used the longer supplied bolts but this was a few years ago. I replaced them with Barkbusters later on after dropping the bike and bending the bar protectors.
Why do you need to take the screws around the fuel cap off?
they hold the plastic air box cover on so they need to come off in order to replace the filter
A well made video, thanks. But personally I don't see the point of this mod. You seem to have replaced good quality, functional Triumph parts with inferior quality ones that don't offer any real advantage, whilst losing the pillion grab rails and the phone holder functionality. Still each to their own I guess.
Thanks. Fair enough
DID I SEE RIGHT ????? . . . . . . . there is one big mistake : read your driver s manual exactly . . . . . they say : FIRST FILL IN THE NEW OIL - LAST THE NEW FILTER . . . . . . or in later times the motor will have damage . . . . . .
Overpunctuate much? Not exactly sure what you’re trying to convey here. Filling oil without a filter in place would result in oil spilling out. If you're saying the filter should be prefilled before installing then yes, I agree and made a mistake on that part. Take care and learn how to write.
saw the burrito tube attached, love that thing
me too 👍
Which area is this
Cloudcroft, NM
Or you could spend 10 dollars to buy an oil filter wrench.
Could but where's the fun in that? 😉
Sounds amazing, would this be neighborhood safe?
Thanks. It's loud but not as loud as others. I take it easy in the neighborhood to keep the noise down as much as I can.
Thanks for the helpful video! I'm just about to order the Evotech mount and Garmin XT2, how are you getting on with the setup and GPS...any issues adjusting the screen height? Cheers!
So far so good. No issues with adjustments for me.
Good job. I have the same bike, and i find it way more nervous on the stearing then my old ktk 790 adventure, but i like the ride quality better on the tiger. Anyone have a solution to get ridd of the twitching stearing in loose surface? Almost threw me off the bike riding the TET
Thanks. You can rake it out more than stock and it helps a little but it's still twitchy. I max the front preload and minimize the rear depending on whether or not I have luggage.
@@timetomotoget stiffer springs, it made a huge difference
How good is it off road since it isn’t the rally version?
It's ok for light off roading. I upgraded to the Rally Pro.
Very helpful video. Thank you
Glad it was helpful!
Hi, you have some great videos, congratulations, I like how you explain, the additional information helps a lot, I wanted to ask you, I'm about to buy a Tigre 900 Rally Pro, but I'm a little undecided, did you check out other options before Triumph, does the bike feel agile to you? In a video I saw that there's also a KTM 890 on it, have you been able to compare them? There are a lot of questions, I hope you can help me. Greetings from Mexico.
Thanks. It really depends on what type of riding you plan on doing. The KTM is lighter and performs really well off road. The Tiger is top heavy and is decent off road. Both are good on road but I feel more comfortable on the Tiger. I’ve ridden the 890 but not enough to give you a solid opinion. There’s a lot more differences so I’d recommend doing more research and test riding them if possible.
did you bring the handle bar a little bit forward or kept as it is ?
It brought it back slightly. Maybe just by a couple millimeters.
Bellissimo lavoro!!
Thanks
Thanks for the video. Just got my 2024 GT Pro and wanting same setup (my first adventure bike). Where did you get those Barkbusters guards? Are they the Barkbusters VPS Handguard Kit For 7/8"?
Yes they are the vps. I already had the hand guards from a previous bike. I got them from pacific power sports. pacificpowersports.com/shop/triumph-tiger-900gt-gt-pro-rally-pro-24-on-bhg-120/?srsltid=AfmBOopNo2yikOKegQiISit2bz7x86IJ3jPJxGxV1E5Fe9jVfKOO6IrH
Looks great, but I would still need the grab handles for the wifey.
I added a grab rail in a later video. th-cam.com/video/aTxS9BFYxHM/w-d-xo.html
Vraiment un plaisir de découvrir une GT PRO en offroad , merci
You're welcome. Thanks for watching.
Great Video man. You are such a handy tech. I paid 180$ for the same work....I dont have most of the tools you have used though....
Thanks.
which place is this ?
This is Willow City Loop near Fredericksburg Texas.
Do you have a simular video to adjust the gear shifter as well?
Unfortunately no
@@timetomoto Damn, thanks will try to figure it out.
Any chance you’d sell me your passenger pegs? I bought a used 2023 tiger 900 where the previous owner removed them. My wife would like to go with me occassionally
I was planning on keeping them in case my wife starts riding with me.
Great job!!
Thanks
I like your gps setup. Can you please share links for the product. Also wondering, the windshield 1:58 is not clear color but black ?
The GPS is a ZumoXT and the mount is Evotech performance th-cam.com/video/n79o36oSdEU/w-d-xo.htmlsi=83JmQpihgmzXD904 I got the short windscreen from AliExpress. www.aliexpress.us/item/3256806558768377.html
Tight stuff for a big tiger, well done!
Thanks!
Exactly what I needed, worked for my 2020 Indian Scout Bobber. Thanks!
Glad it helped!
Hello! What windscreen do you have on your Tiger 900? I see some small black.
I got the short windscreen from AliExpress. www.aliexpress.us/item/3256806558768377.html
Hey don’t moan too much about the heat from the bike that would be great in the winter to keep you warm pay extra for that Other bikes Not a problem for me
Yea I hear you. It becomes a feature during the winter. Texas winters are mild so it’s not needed most of the time. Some people are bothered by it where others don’t notice. I only notice it on really hot days. But hey I’m sitting on top of a hot engine so some heat is expected.
I am looking to do the same with the Evotech TomTom mount but with Tomtom rider 550. does anyone know if I can just plug it directly to the USB slot which is already exsiting on the handlebar?
Good question. I know I had issues with the USB slot when using cables for my iPhone that weren't fast charging so it may depend on the cable you use for the TomTom.
I have just tried that. It appears to supply insufficient power for the TomTom 550. However, although in an awkward position, the socket to the side of the seat does work and provides instant power, i.e. not switched. I am trying to work out how to run the cable back to the battery area to a Thunderbox. I think I am going to bite the bullet and subscribe to the Triumph technical manual to discover how to remove panels and tank if necessary.
@@bursar65yeah it is a 12V and usb provides only 5. Ended up hooking it up to the CANSmart. Works a treat.
@@dacastro7 you don't need to remove the panels. buy a cable threader and feed it through the main cabler stock at the front of the motorcycle. it runs smoothly through where the cables are and pops out on the frame near the battery. then you can connecdt it to your thunderbox and tie it to the frame.
@@DanielCastro-md1ow Thanks for the tip. I had tried pushing through thin rods/pipes but to no avail. I hadn't heard of a cable puller. I will give it a go.
What floorboard is that? Looking to get something like it.
Joker Machine Mini Serrated Floorboards. I like'em
@@timetomoto thank you for the hasty reply!
This trip was epic 🤘
🤘
That looks like a lot of fun
It was a fun road. I didn’t expect that.
Very interesting 👍
👍
I have the same bike but black and white scheme. What’s the tool tube you have installed? I don’t see a vid
Nice! I didn’t do a video on it but it’s a DrySpec Tool Tube from Amazon.
I bought the Motoz tires same as you have and they are wearing really well. BUT the front is really noisy on pavement.
Yea I’ve noticed that too. More noisy than I expected given it’s not a knobby.
Looks really good. Nice addition. Inwas looking at the tidy tail too. I like the under tidy part, but would like to keep the original grab rails and top. Is that possible (without tweaking everything)? And I'm your 999th sub. Dude you're so close. My channel has been floating around 970 for an eternity. Anyhow, keep up the good work and showing me the guts and whatnot of the Tiger 900. Cheers!
Thanks. Unfortunately the way the OEM grab rail is mounted you can’t use it with the tail tidy. That was the main drawback for me but the OEM grab rails also made it a little more difficult to mount my Mosko reckless 40 bags without them sticking out too far. Thanks for the sub. So close to 1k but still won’t be monetized until I get my watch hours up. No worries though I’m not doing it for the $.
@@timetomoto Thanks for the reply. I get why you did it and really like your grab rails too. Good video and solution. They look good enough to be on the market. But yeah, my luggage setup seems better with the OEM parts. But man, that tail light placement looks great. Good luck with getting those hours (I get it). And I also get doing this for other reasons. Shiney side up.
Great to see the old bird going off road ! Hoping to get one soon
It’s good for light off roading but if you expect to do more aggressive off road riding I’d recommend the Rally Pro. I ended up selling my GT Pro and getting the Rally Pro because I wanted more off road capabilities 👍
Cow Creek?
You got it 👍
This makes me wanna get a bike, a lot of these trails are way too small for my big ass tundra lol
Haha I hear ya - do it! 😀 There’s a lot of amazing places that Tundra will take you through.
Man your off road riding has improved heaps well done
Thanks
