WHEEL BEARINGS, AIRBAGS, AND REBUILDING THE LEAF SPRINGS | 60 SERIES LANDCRUISER PART 17
Lazarus the 60 series is starting to become part of our touring arsenal and to make that happen we needed to give the suspension and running gear a good look over including the mandatory wheel bearings. To help deal with the weight of towing duties plus the upcoming rear drawer and battery fit out, we knew we would have to up the spring rate a little. Now instead of throwing all the springs in the bin and starting from scratch we opted to pull apart the rear leaf pack and rebuild it including adding an extra leaf I had laying around, not only does this help it ride well but also keeps the cost down, with this and the Boss airbags added it really gives the car the ability to ride well but also carry a load.

$185 TURBO INSTALL ONTO A CARBURETED PETROL ENGINE | CLANCY 2
มุมมอง 5K21 ชั่วโมงที่ผ่านมา
This build series is all about letting it all hang out with a full on, imagination run wild, kind of build. Our 1985 60 series we aptly named Clancy was just about ready to be parted out or sold onto the next scrap yard, but before that happens we have decided to give the old truck one last hurrah and throw a massively oversized turbo at the tired 3f under the hood in an experiment to make some...
UNIQUE 60 SERIES LANDCRUISER BUILD IN 35 MINUTES!
มุมมอง 62Kหลายเดือนก่อน
Building our 4jj1 swapped 60 series Landcruiser with full custom bodywork in 35 minutes. This project started life as me and James having a beer and a wild idea to build a 60 series Landcruiser, we never thought it was going to be this involved or turn into what is potentially one of the more unique 60 series around. To say we are proud of it is an understatement. So Grab a beer and enjoy! - Bi...
REGISTRATION OF A HEAVILY MODIFIED VEHICLE | 60 SERIES LANDCRUISER PART 16
มุมมอง 14Kหลายเดือนก่อน
We couldn't wait to slap on the fresh number plates to the 60. Ten months of blood, sweat and tears all came down to this. We were secretly very nervous about the engineering, blue slip and registration process. With so many hoops to jump through, it was only going to take one little hiccup to ruin our 2024 Classic Landcruiser Expo dream. Paperwork aside, we weren't even sure that we wouldn't e...

DIY EXHAUST | 60 SERIES LANDCRUISER PART 14
มุมมอง 3.3K2 หลายเดือนก่อน
This job is definitely one that would benefit from using a car hoist, but unfortunately, STS Garage doesn’t have one. So, rolling around on the floor beneath the car was the only option, and that's exactly what we did. This was one of the more enjoyable tasks we've tackled on the 60 so far, and it was a blast creating a huge montage video of it. Sit back and enjoy!

This episode Lazzarus the 60 series finally gets a coat of paint, this has been one of the most difficult parts of the job, that being getting it to this point to paint and just when we think its ready we find more rust and a massive repair! FIRST START OF THE ISUZU 4JJ1 ENGINE IN A 60 SERIES LANDCRUISER | 60 SERIES LANDCRUISER PART 12
มุมมอง 9K3 หลายเดือนก่อน
Carrying on from the last episode, it's time to finish the engine install on the 60 and get it fired up. This episode we have Michael from Aussie 4J Adaptors joining us in the STS GARAGE to help out with the install. What we achieved in such a small amount of time is simply down to Michael’s extensive knowledge and willingness to get in and get it done. We were adamant, that in this episode the...
ISUZU 4JJ1 ENGINE CONVERSION INTO A TOYOTA 60 SERIES LANDCRUISER | 60 SERIES LANDCRUISER PART 11

Fully detailed episode on how we managed to fit the ever popular 4JJ1 Isuzu motor from a 2011 D-max into a 1985 Toyota Landcruiser 60 series with minimal tools but heaps of enthusiasm. This will be part one of this process as it's quite an undertaking creating a car from many different parts and makes, but something I can tick off my bucket list. Well I can't go past a bargain, sitting at home scrolling through Facebook marketplace and this gem pops up, not only was it the right price it was also not to far from home. BUYING A CRASHED CAR AT AUCTION JUST FOR THE ENGINE | 60 SERIES LANDCRUISER PART 10
มุมมอง 5K4 หลายเดือนก่อน
It's a big piece of the Lazarus puzzle finally complete. We have been looking for the right vehicle to use as a donor car for a very long time, and we have finally made a purchase. It's a little nerve racking when you purchase something like this without even seeing it and not knowing if the engine will even start. So come along for the ride as we reveal exactly what it is and whether or not it...
BUILDING SIDESTEPS WITH A DIFFERENCE | 60 SERIES LANDCRUISER PART 9
มุมมอง 3.3K4 หลายเดือนก่อน
One of the last custom parts for Lazarus is the side steps. I had plan for these to be quite different in design and give the appearance of the car being higher of the ground without lifting the suspension, which will allow us to completely fill the gaurds with a 33 inch tire. I love the look of a big tire in a low truck but also didn't want it to look like the belly of the truck was too low! -...
CUSTOM LASER CUT ROOF RACK MOUNT | 60 SERIES LANDCRUISER PART 8
มุมมอง 3.1K5 หลายเดือนก่อน
For this build its very important that we not only make it look good but it also must be practical as a camping & touring vehicle and when we are talking about a wagon, the roof rack is very important for carrying the swag, firewood, attaching an awning, and whatever else we decide to take with us on coming trips in the 60 series. We couldn't just bolt on some off the shelf racks though and hav...

When will truth about airbags be told they don’t ride soft due to captive air 10 lbs or 50 lbs unless you remove valves bumpstop. Springs need to be set correctly better to remove rubber and std rear mount to diff weld 2 to 3 mm plate to diff with 15mm hole or 17mm ie 1mm clearance for centre bolt and strong back lower mount stop bending around leaf spring. Reason is ubolts will be pulled on by bags forever getting loose as more tension is required regularly checking tension. Efs good basic shocks tho note hoist will be good but as a spring works I haven’t used hoist 25 years just high lift trolley jack truck stands . Own two sixty one with fg turbo running more work to go another not sure what put in but will go 5 leaf top and 2 overloads set so top leaves are clear of overloads with koni shocks 🙀
Love the build series, ive got an 86 hj61 im tidying up and you guys share heaps of knowledge!! What front and rear mudflaps are you using?? Hard to find ones thay don suit flares Cheers
why did you got for a 4jj not a 1hdfte or other options?
Hi, I've owned a fj62 for 25 years, did a Lot of K's, I noticed the amount of steering correction you needed to make while driving, maybe I've got a bit of a fix for you. Have a check to see if the steering shaft going into the steering housing from the steering wheel has forwards and backwards play while turning the steering wheel slightly? If it has, there is a big nut on the rear of the housing where the shaft goes into the housing, it's been designed to be adjusted. You'll see. that will adjust that bearing holding the shaft, tighten it the necessary amount to not have play and you won't believe the improvement in driving the thing, it will steer much more stable with less correction needed. Made a big difference on mine. Also, you might want to adjust the adjuster on top on the front of the housing to take play out. (Not too much!) They can actually drive real nice ones setup right. Very nice build by the way, nice job.
Maybe you should consider getting a hoist. Gr8 work Adam, especially lying on the ground
Adam I’ve got a build challenge for you- in my mind it’s the next evolution after Lance and Lazarus… a 80 series chassis with a dual cab converted 40 Series body. Or a 40 series troopy on 80 series chassis but with doors for back seat passengers and an engineered second row seat. You guys would smash it out! Oh and yes I reckon you need a hoist big time- so do I! Love the content, love the banter, love style of your builds! Keep up the awesome work fellas.
Love the episode but the intro a tad long
Mate, love the planting of the seed and watering it through the episode, it will grow into a large tree. Bring on the hoist.
Lovely Ep and maintenance on the 60 guys, Gee 2 ton behind the 60 with gear in the back and people in the 4wd must be right on GVM and GCM and rear axle weight,
Thanks for tuning in mate. And yeah it will be right on the limit.
Put an old Holden Ute body on it
Can not wait. Thank you.
15.00 enjoy. )))) same think save. Take care guys. Old 60s not fast build for dusty road and hills. Save it. Mick the gong. )
Might want to check if that turbo needs an oil feed restrictor, otherwise you'll blow the seals out of it 🤣🤣 Otherwise, this is absolutely perfect 😁
Cheers bud.
this is so cool man, should do springs over diffs and some massive tires and make it a weapon offroad.
Cheers bud.
Bout time we see something like this in aus, pissa 👌🏾🇦🇺
And you'll "cry like a baby" with the first scratch!!!
Lower the shit outta it and use it as a burnout car 😅 would be sick
😉 sounds good to me 👍🏼
@smarttouringsystems-garage it's a good excuse to keep it haha 😂 and collect more cars just throw. A blanket over em so when the missus asks what it is just be like dunno looks like it's sleeping haha 😂
WTF go back to building 😂😂😂😂😂😂
Ha ha 🤣 kinda the response I was after!
Looks like something out of Mad Max, great work guys 👍 just send it
Ha ha! Cheers mate! It's going to be wild.
🤪🙃😂😂🤣brilliant
🤙🏼😂
You blokes have Gone from One extreme to the other, Built to flash of 4wd Id be to scared to use. To making one obnoxiously unsafe, Both not my cup of tea, But as long as you two are happy thats all that matters,
Agree. 😂 we will hit the mark one day.
@@smarttouringsystems-garage All good loved watching them all,
Wa safe hehe
Is it the same for a guy patrol
As far as I’m aware mate.
Quality finish!
Thanks mate.
❤👏👍👌
The steel you used for your sliders, is that premade profile you purchased
Na mate I got it bent up. 🤙🏻
@ amazing. I love the way it looks like a factory running board but it's more than that
i put 285/75/16 never cut anything
I’m not gonna lie but that’s is a beautiful build 💯
Great video mate!
Cheers mate, we appreciate it 👍
와 진짜 멋집니다.
From what car is the doner hood?
2012 79 series Landcruiser 👍🏼
Why install an older Isuzu engine. I know they’re good motors but there is a significant weight difference between a Ute and a full land cruiser.
Mate they are nearly exactly the same weight actually, and price, economy, power, tunability, and reliability. Where all factors. What engine should we have done that would tick all the above boxes 🧐
@ ok my blue, just thought there was more metal in the cruiser. All good
⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐🏆
Y’all do phenomenal work!
Excellent!!!!1
Travail impressionnant...
Thanks 🙏
Stupid video - where did you run the wires too ?
it’s cheap,it’s tough,it’s toyota. build to last.
Had to check the date on this after the "unleaded" comment😂😂😂
Hey mate curious to know what size constant load leaf pack you put under there? And then do you also run a airbag?
Mate I’m not sure what they class the leaf pack as it’s the 4.2 gvm from lovells. I’d say it’s constant 6 or 700 and no I don’t run air bags. 👍🏼
Woow nice work
Que belleza se nota el cariño y amor que invirtieron hora tras hora una obra de arte
What roof rack is that?
Hi Mark it’s a rhino rack pioneer platform with a custom backbone we designed ourselves.
❤,, Outclassed
🎉🎉🎉
Another one saved from the scrapper. Bloody well done guys!
Cheers mate.
Same power with toyota 14B 4 cylinder
Awesome work guys!
Thanks mate! We appreciate it 👍
Mate I did exactly the same thing with the roof lining Cut the roof completely off to remove all the rust. I was spot welding it back on, sitting on the bonnet through the open windscreen. Didn’t noticed the flames from the burning roof lining until they were licking under the welding helmet. Got very hectic very quickly.
Pretty scary stuff.
What a result! Bloody love this, it’s very clean, love the stock interior too. Amazing resto!
Thanks mate, we appreciate it! 👍
