Gamechanger for hobby woodworkers! Two Trees 450 PRO
Woodworkers and woodturners can elevate their designs with this! This desktop CNC, carving and laser machine instructional video will show the setup of the machine. It will also show you how to get started creating beautiful designs in wood, metal or plastics. And importantly, it will show you how to get your own designs ready for CNC. I show how to convert a jpeg to a svg file and then to G-code that the machine will accept.

Woodworking: Using IKEA furniture in a workshop!
มุมมอง 8Kวันที่ผ่านมา
Workshop build video with ikea furniture in a woodshop, laminate floor in a garage and other cool stuff. Using modified Ikea furniture in a garage woodshop might seem crazy, but I have a plan. It maximizes storage space and with a few hacks it should be stable and rugged. This is a woodturning workshop but will work fine for small woodworking projects too. If you were skeptical about the Ikea f...

@@-charles-d.9559 Big step getting a CNC for most hobby woodworkers, certainly was for me. Thanks for watching 👍
Use Lightburn to trace.
@@alpha_pixel_ thank you for pointing me in the right direction 👍 I see it’s mostly for laser, does it do engraving too? I’m looking to try the laser head on this machine soon so will check it out 👍

Yeah, I guess they were referring to the German AI generated voice, thinking it's the original audio track
@ oh I see! It’d be fun to hear that 😉 But surely you can turn that off right?
yeah, you can switch back to the real voice, but sadly it sometimes seems to be on by default, and it is indeed awful 😅
lol, u sell this ???
Very beautiful!
I know this video is old but it I would love to know what dimensions you used even with the starting piece. Would be great for recreating the project. Thank you.
@@darrentimlin9155 Hi and thank you for the comment. As I recall the starting point for the walnut was about 5x10,5x17cm. I hope this helps and best of luck on your project 👍
I like the Velcro on the jaws!
@@billybobjohnroane1692 Very practical 👍 I use them all the time
What a bargain . It looks very nice. I think all your decisions are solid. The total cost is brilliant . Loads of style and function for the $$$.What are the dimensions of the shop? Thanks for sharing !
@@duaneheadworth6275 Thank you for the kind comment 🙌 My shop is about 3,6x7 meters. Still a lot of space for more stuff, just haven’t figured out what yet 😃
Great video, what ikea cabinet did you use? Looks good
@@MM-24 Thank you! 🙌 I used Bestå series for the cabinets. Very practical and affordable 👍
Very Very cool idea! Kez
@@KerryCorney Thanks! 🙌 Would love to see you take on it 👍
Nice. I have an unfinished garage that needs some love. What Ikea models did you use?
@@drewmoseley thanks 🙌 I used «bestå». Come in different sizes and with loads of different colored fronts 👍 and you can set up drawers or cabinets to your liking 😃
I would highly recommend you check out Stuart Batty's sharpening videos. I've finally moved away from jigs and now sharpen everything free hand on a platform, it really isn't very difficult to learn. Once you can sharpen a proper 40/40 grind on a bowl gouge you will never go back! It's an entire new galaxy!
@@cartier13 Thanks a lot for the tip! I will check him out. I’m terrible at free hand sharpening so have a long way to go 😬
Love finding new turning channels! I'm just about to finally start using my lathe again after a few years getting a new space ready. Good luck in the new shop!
@@cartier13 Thank you 👍 And thanks for joining! 🙌 Good luck with your new shop as well 😃
IKEA furniture cheap?.... maybe in Europe. Nice job
@@XavierPil thanks 👍 Compared to workshop furniture I found it a lot cheaper. But you’re right, seems like Ikea is cheaper here than other places
"Daring" paint color! (It looks good though!)
@@joelwinter4956 Thanks! 🙌 I have to give credit to my GF for that. I was very sceptical as it is a bit unusual. but looks great 👍
Love it. I love seeing workshops that go away from the norm visually. Question: I'm about to fit out my workshop, and I'm wondering if IKEA is truly cheaper than using sheet material and cutting it to size? Certainly it's quicker, but I've been using builders ply for a project, along with scrap wood from renovating, and it's not cost anywhere near that much in materials for the cabinets and worktop, for something that size. Could it be location? I am in the UK
@@DryerFryer Hi, and thanks for the comment 👍 It is worth calculating on, but I think Ikea is cheaper. But it is somewhat limiting in proportions compared to sheet materials and diy. Here in Norway, materials are very expensive, so I think that factors in for me. But keep in mind that all the drawers, fronts and cabinetry is included in this price. For me, the time to finish played a big part too. Ikea is so quick to set up. But I’m curous to hear more about your thoughts here, and what you find when calculating.
Really depends on what materials you can get for how much. For private people in Germany, IKEA kitchen cabinets are cheaper than the raw materials. You can save by getting the hinges and doors / drawer fronts yourself though!
Looks great! I did a similar thing using a combination of Ikea METOD wall cabinets and tambour cabinets from an office surplus store. It has the look of those high end automotive style sets for a fraction of the cost.
@@Valisk Thanks! It really looks good, and very affordable. Only thing I worried about is the wear and tear over time. How are yours holding up?
@@nordicturningThey’re holding up really well, it’s been about six or seven years since I refurbed the workshop.
Did the same thing. Very affordable and durable.
@@precisioncardmodels Glad to hear I’m not the only one who thinks this is a great solution 👍 How are yours holding up?
4 years and still going strong.

Nice design
3:50 Schöner Nürnberger. Passiert jedem mal😉
Tolle Idee und gut umgesetzt.
you'll get lots of metal dust on your tools over time, because it slowly will magnetize the tool. know it from experience.
❤
Great looking build! The one issue I'd have with it is the base - since it's solid and right behind the lathe, it will fill up with chips and dust. I have one with an open angled bottom, and it still collects lots of chips behind the tools that are in there
@@jcrusso1 Thank you! 🙌 You’re right, chips and dust will always be a problem. With my last rack I had to vacuum it between every project, and will probably have to with this one too. The placement is the real problem I think, but it’s so handy to have everything at the turning station 🤷
Lovely stuff! What finish did you use? Thanks
@@hellomarkhall Thank you! 🙌 Food safe danish oil 👍

I'm pretty sure these are sex toys
Very cool
@larrycresse753 Thank you! 🙌
That looks amazing. Why didn't you put the shorter tools on the lower magnetic strip?
Probably to show the strength of the magnets.
@@markduggan3451 Thank you Mark 🙌 A few of the tools handles were just a bit too long for the lowest strip, and too short for the medium one. I actually built the rack before I had the tools 😬 The lowest strip is meant for my lathe tools, spindles and live center etc. I was told by findbuytool now that I ordered the «short» kit, so that explains it.
The wooden rack by itself is excellent. But I think the magnetic racks in front of it are ugly.
@@TheCleric42 The design could work without the magnets, if I added an angle on the tools and some groves to keep the tools steady. Interesting 👍 Thank you for the comment 😃
This is awesome, I’ve been looking to do something like this myself ❤
@@Chipswoodworking Thank you Chip 🙌 Glad you like it and looking forward to see your take on it. All the best for 2025 😃
