I never understood why the ice one got a shield and sword? Honestly either the claws of the earth or the hooks of the water toa seem more fitting as ice picks don't they? I wonder if one could find some more fitting weappons for them that represents their elements and powers a bit better and let's them traverse their home terrain better.

As much as I like the OG 2003 Makuta set, the legs at least were a solid downgrade from the prototype. If they found a way to stabilize them a bit more I think they'd be better than the set we got.

We have light Toa Mata… how about light Toa Nuva? That should be fairly easy thanks entirely to our dear friends Takanuva and Pridak, and they’d look stunning with the protodermis Nuva masks!

To be completely fair, even if Makuta was originally a shapeless and ominous void of swirling Bionicle mass, (which is awesome) then by definition he'd also be capable of forming a more formal body of his own. Just as his spirit/essence inhabited the Tohunga/Matoran he built (an amorphous void can build things/shapeshift), he built something more monstrous for himself to occupy. Makuta even inhabited the Maxilos robot in Mahri Nui. That said, the production set we got of Makuta is trash, and I maintain that his film appearance is one of the best sets we never got. And regardless of the Makuta story retcon and subsequent Makuta sets in 2008, Makuta Teridax will always be Master of Shadows, Agent of Destruction to me!

The production model we wound up getting is trash compared to the prototype model you managed to finish properly. You can really tell Miramax had this on their desks at the time. Far superior. Amazing job!

Given the design of Makuta's mask when upright, it strongly resembles the Avohkii to me. I feel like THAT was the design intended for Takutanuva, to represent Makuta's and Takanuva's masks merged together - while the more "alien" look was intended for Makuta normally. The development of Makuta's model seems to have been very rushed, which could explain why, if this was the intention, it wasn't exactly communicated to even the set photographers.

In the 2003 Official Guide to Bionicle written by Greg Farshtey, the pronunciation of Onewa is "oh-NEE-wah" for those interested :) Also in the guide, Lewa is clearly noted as being pronounced "lay-WAH" -- not sure why there's still an ongoing debate!

Two weeks late, but at 5:47, the white Technic "catches" on Pohatu's fingers are actually somewhat rare, having only appeared in nine sets to date. They never appeared in any Bionicle sets, but they first appeared in early 2002 in the Technic R2-D2 figure (8009), and in two "Discovery Channel" sets (7467 and 7470) in June 2003. These were the part's last appearance in white for nearly twenty years, before finally reappearing in another Technic set (42150) at the start of 2023. Their most recent appearance in white was in a Ninjago set (71818) from June of this year.

you know what would be kind of fun is negative toa, meaning if they ever made them have the same colors scheme but reversed, like for tahu a orange body,mask and red limbs, or if ever there would be trans color bodies and limbs

If i could have any masks in new colors it would be the Toa Metru Masks, since I always felt like the masks should have been color swapped for the Voya-Matoran like they were with the noble masks on the Metru-Matoran.
