Motorbikes and cars and that’s about it
XR200 with loud exhaust (sounds so good)
PLEASE READ ALL OF THIS AS IT WILL EXPLAIN EVERYTHING
The exhaust installed on the XR200 is a stock exhaust with the baffle out. My Dad got rid of the original exhaust and we had been running a musket aftermarket exhaust on it which was significantly quieter and more restrictive and the baffle wasn’t removable. These OEM exhausts are very hard to come across so we are very lucky we found one. As you can see our XR200 has a-lot of compression.
UPDATE ABOUT THE XR
About a year ago now after rebuilding the top end of the motor, disaster struck. After installing a heavy duty clutch with stiffer springs, it blew up. After disassembling the motor I found that the problem was lack of oil flow to the head or the motor. What caused this was that the shop we had the motor rebuilt at put way too much silicone around the mating surface where the valve cover clamped down onto the head. The excess silicone blocked all oil getting to the head which resulted in the cam shaft locking up. IT SURVIVED FOR 9 MONTHS OF RIDING WOYB NO OIL GETTING TO THE CAMSHAFT, VALVES EVERYTHING!!! Thankfully the only damage to the engine was a ruined cam and rockers with a lot of metal shavings through the engine. Something else that happened was the pressure the oil created to get to the head only to be blocked by the silicone caused the oil to ooze out of the head and base gasket.
What we did was got a new cam, rockers and cam chain along with any other damaged head components. We also got a full rebuild gasket set and replaced every gasket and seal throughout the motor. My dad and I rebuilt the top end yet again, installed the motor back in the bike and we were all set.
The motor fired right up like any XR should. On the first test ride we found that the bike would not shift into 1-3 gear. Again we had to pull the clutch cover and whole clutch assembly apart to find the problem. Luckily the problem was only worn out parts. The shift star and gear fork (bottle opener) were replaced. We got everything back together and hoped that everything worked as it should. Thankfully everything worked great and it ran extremely smoothly. The clutch was great and the gear changers were very smooth.
We were super happy so Dad wanted to get some new tyres for it as the old ones were shot. We took the wheels off and took them to the shop to get new tyres put on. Annoyingly the aluminium rims had taken a beating of 30 years exposure to the rain and had crumbled away on the inside of the rim. So we had to look for some rims for the XR which were a rarity because 17 inch rear tires are extremely rare. (This is just before Christmas this year). Dad kept an eye out and eventually found some genuine XR200 rims in good condition so we snapped them up and got them wrapped in some nice new tyres.
For Christmas I had bought dad some handle bars, grips, shift lever and a gas tank vent hose so we put those on and they looked great. Then dad saw an XR200 exhaust get listed and he really wanted to get it as he loved the sound of the OEM pipe. So we got it and just put it on the bike now. It sounds awesome and we are wondering wether or not it needs the baffle we bought.
This is the problems you have with old bikes is that the more you get into the more money you need to spend. Dad and I are satisfied that the XR is as good and reliable as ever. Dad would like to replace the suspension with something more suitable to the riding we do. The stock suspension is like a pogo stick so we are on the lookout for a good back shock and some proper forks. Keep an eye out for new videos of the XR in action.

Where do you get the front plate for that
I believe it’s an 06 250r front plate. Secured by cable ties haha
Is this the 4G15 Have you done something to it Sounds a bit like a V8
Yes, 4g15 dohc. Only an aftermarket intake. Its all noise no go thought😂
@@joshputt42 its the opposite with the new cars lol What intake make and model is it? I am thinking to install something on my Lancer 4B11 NA
@@ha_ha-ha_ha it’s a Mitsubishi lancer mx. It has an aluminium pipe with a pod filter and that’s it.
Where did get parts for your bike? I have a 1998 honda xr200r and I need parts
i can’t get mine off bro 😭😭
Haha how
1.3 12 valve😁
1.5 dohc 16 valve
Add turbo please
Hey I was wondering how you changed that piece in the airbox door because I have the white one and want it black like yours
It was a long time ago but I’m pretty sure I just bought a black plastic piece online and fitted it on. Think it was just clipped on.
Them Boots n shorts decreases power by 14.2%. You can add a few decals to get that power back up 12.8% but the additional weights a concern.especially if sand sticks to the adhesive
Where about’s did you find your black radiator fins? Cheers
I bought them from a Honda wreckers place. Can’t remember the name of the company but they’re pretty readily available. Definitely tidied the bike up a lot
I got the same exact bike
🔥 Saluteeee U just gained a new Subscriber
Hmm I’d say 65-72mph ishhh
Yeah 120 kilometres per hour so around 72 mph
Nice, I got an 07 250x with ccc mods and it rips!
What year is the bike
2006
What tire did you put on the rear yours looks great compared to the only irc tire they make for 17 inch rims
Hi, it’s an Anlida 100/100/17
My favorite all-time bike from Big Red. Owned and raced a couple. Wish I could find another.
Gotta love them
Love to have your buddys old xr, I'm assuming it's a 250 too
Haha, it’s a 200, super fun bike
If you still have the stock baffle let me know.
Was it the valves mine was starting and went to rev it and it cut out
Yeah I bent the valves
what year kx250f exhaust is that
I think like 2004-2006 or something. I am not sure because it came with the bike
Where’s you get the headlight assembly. Just picked up a 1993 and I thought they didn’t come with lights after 1990.
As far as I’m concerned it has been on the bike all its life
I love Hondas so much 👌 especially the 250x
250x are king🤘
Some of the best performance parts for a 250X is 250R parts. The R exhaust is the best system out there for it, and it has perfect fit.
Gotta love stupid people. Did you know that the exhaust port on the r head is bigger? It's okay, just keep swapping out cams. Good job, buddy. After thinking about it, did you even look at the low duration? They are almost exactly the same.
Hey mate. Looked into specs comparing 06 x cam to 06 r cam which I went with. The figures speak for themselves and then there is the actual difference while riding. HUGE! With the R cam I have more torque everywhere in the rpm range along with more power and better throttle response. Best decision I ever made. I ride trails so it is a perfect linear jump in performance.
I have a 2006 honda crf250r and 2012 honda crf450x
whats the top speed on the 2006?
Ok
@@pinktrex5536i have a 2006 crf250r also stock gearing and does 75plus i could hit 80 downhill maybee
@@Jose.Ambroisei have a crf250x 2006 that has no engine mods except for an exhaust but with aftermarket plastics and levers. and i got mine up to 85-89 on a straight away cuz im light i’m only 13
is that factory exhaust?
Nah mate it’s of a kawasaki kx250f modified to fit
Can hear your timing chain a bit might need to tighten
It’s the rockers
HHOOOLLLLYYYYY shit
Hahahah
I have a 250x too
I’m doing a build series
Qual a relação sua 250x coroa 53d e pinhão 14d ?
Wouldn't run with excessive valve clearance? Wrong!
As I have matured mechanically I realise you are correct but I was 14 when I made this video so not a great deal of experience😂
What are the maintenance intervals for the oils, filters, valve check? (I don't race with it., just average offroading)
So I like to replace oil and oil filter every 10 hours, valve check every 20 hours and clean air filter when it is dirty, about every 2-3 rides if it is really dusty.
And transmission fluid every 10 hours also
I have a 2011 crf450r I just got it and my uncle sold my bestfruend and room mate one of these bikes it’s the 93 too I love how it looks I’m definitely getting a plastic kit for my bike to match it

An exhaust off a kx250f
If sound was horsepower........I’d call that a 50.

What mods have you done
In that video it had been jetted, air box mod and diamond valves. Now it has had high compression piston, ported polished head r cam, jetted, air box mod and a few more
Hi, i see that honda is uncorked.... what you did to uncork it, change jetting on carburetor or install different exhaust?
Hi, yes it sure is uncorked. All it needed was for you to open up the air box, change the jetting and a different exhaust. Handles like a different bike afterwards. Mine has a 250r cam in it, that went well with uncorking it.
@@joshputt42 did you have valve problems? I hear that some older hondas have problems with valves.
Yes I did have valve problems. I put it down to user error though because I was red lining it all the time and never checked my valve clearances. As long as you aren’t hitting the rev limiter all the time and are changing the oil every 10 hours and checking valve clearances every 20, they are very reliable. I haven’t had a single problem since rebuilding mine
