The Official TH-cam Channel Of Steamrail Victoria.
Steamrail Victoria operates monthly heritage trains to destinations throughout the state of Victoria. Our trips travel all accros the Victorian Railways broad gauge network offering a variety of tours for all tastes, including weekend excursions to interesting and popular destinations.
The Steamrail locomotive & carriage fleet comprises some thirty cars including sitting, sleeping and specialist vehicles as well as 12 operational locomotives. These vehicles date back to the early 20th century and offer the best of yesteryear in the current day. All tours have a kiosk car and most include a licensed bar.

Because it's a relic. B class locomotives were built in 1952-1953, which makes the locomotive 70+ years old.

I'm wondering why they made such hoods for this locomotive? What is stored in them? Why do they protrude differently in front and behind?
If there's a locomotive that deserves to be repainted in the VR blue and gold, it's this one.

Dude Victorian Railways R class is Hudson not Pacific. The S class got all scrapped long ago.
R761 is back. The third surprise for the open days 2024 is R761. It now looks good wearing it's original 1985 restored paint scheme. Steamrail did a good job with R761. Wowza.
So much respect for R761 when visiting S.A in 87 & 94...looking fantastic now. I can't travel due to illness - have a great weekend everyone!
