The Dumbest fish in the world
มุมมอง 3.5K4 หลายเดือนก่อน
Why do they do this! Dumbest, hardest! One of. Where they swim to and back too is unreal. Why they hit a bare hook with no bait or scent baffles me. Sockeye can find a needle in a hey stack but then, they hit a bare hook that shakes. If you want to fill a freezer this is the place. That's a good day right there.
Watching from Butte Montana. Very interested in fishing Roosevelt lake and other decent "Kokanee" fishing waters. Not sure where to start tho
@@anglersnw from spring canyon campground to Lincoln boat launch. You can find these spots easy on google maps. Specifically right now I would start from Lincoln boat launch and run down river 2-5 miles.
@@NorthwestCatch Thank you for your response.
"God lingcod are pretty" he says, pretty ugly I would say but taste good
Those kokanee were not motor shy that day. I've been meaning to fish Omak for quite a while. Need to get it done.
Ok. I've watched about 20 of your videos now. You've finally motivated me to take my boat out this winter to try for Kokanee. I fish starting in March at Neah for lings all the way through early August for Kings, then finish the fall with Coho. I usually go out once or twice a winter for OP Steelhead. But for the majority of the winter my boat just sits. Thanks to you I'm gonna try Kokanee. It'll be a challenge because I have no Kokanee gear and absolutely zero knowledge on trolling speed, depth, gear, etc. but I'll keep watching your videos trying to learn. Your channel is very good. Very entertaining and educational. Thanks again. .
Thanks so much. Stick with it and you will be hooked
For you guys in Oregon. DO NOT REMOVE THE FISH HEADS.
Where is Boots?
@@ChrisEngrave ya I agree we need more Boots.
Great video... what kind of shrimp are you using? What's the cure recipe?
@@davidwilliams3643 pink shrimp in antipro xxx
Was hoping you would put out a new video!
so what was hit at the 0:07 mark?
Whale hit both downrigger balls
Thanks for the video 💪 what should I use for staging kings? Plugs, chartreuse flasher/Ace hi fly, herring, spoons, thank you team NWC
All the above
Let's go fishing this summer for big kangs🚤
Do you add corn or plastic maggots on the hooks? Do you think it would help?
Corn
Thanks team NWC hope to see you guys at pt defiance this year, ill be out there in a 14' salty boat. We need more boots and you videos 🙏
NWC what should I be doing to catch these kings jigging mooching trolling flashers etc everybody is trolling flashers at pt defiance but im only catching kings on jigs what am doing wrong? Ive been meatlining ace hi plugs and nothing, trolling flashers with all kinds of lures and no success, please help!
@@kingchaser-c4t just going off your comment. Speed up and fish very close to the bottom. No flasher just the plug 20ft or more back from the weight. 5-6 lb weights. Put the time in and you will start catching.

Hey! Great Channel! Glad I found it! Just subscribed!! I have a channel and trying to grow so mad respect!!! Fun Video, I visit Manson from time to time!
Team NWC, I've been fishing area 11 using flasher/fly flasher/squid spoons plugs 45 degree line angle on downriggers meatline 15' from release to flasher and catching no kings, only jigging has caught some monsters what advice can you help with? 80-160 foot depths.
Please teach me your king secrets king North West catch
Please teach me your secrets king boots
I would like to know what kind of bait did you use
Was a good day for you guys ❤
When you let it sit overnight during bruning does it need to be refrigerated?
@@helihoot ya I leave it in the fridge
@@NorthwestCatch Only asked cause you only said you let it sit overnight with no mention of putting it in the fridge. Enjoyed the video. Thank you.
Amazing fishing that good a nd you still can’t follow rules . Punch your fish before you put lines back in water. Simple
@@johnreynolds7226 John thanks so much for watching. Sometimes my wife just films or comes to watch the sun come up and doesn’t want to be on camera. She is an amazing lady that can watch the sun come up drink coffee and hold a pen and 2 catch cards at the same time. Please think just a little before you comment again. You might not see everything when someone turns on a camera.
So you took your wife and you didn’t get her a catch card ? What ever LOL ,
@ absolutely she had a catch card and we got her limit and we cooked breakfast. I don’t film everything haha. Oh and we came out later that day with my parents and got their limits.
Thanks for the recipe, I have the same Original Bradley Smoker! I've had it close to 20yrs, still works right every time! 😊😮
Well you asked black cod or halibut um 😐 🤔 😕 y not both and some reg cod salmons rock fish kelp grayling ling cod flounder if its good for eating and there is a limit can be caught ima try to come back with a live well full of fish something about a freezer full of fish crab shrimp ouster clams seems to me like a 😊great idea 💡

do you add cut bait on the hook?
@@moneyymoney1032 1 piece of corn each hook
Where is it? 😢
Nice catch dude
Anytime I see boots in his tiderunner I follow him around! He's always on the fish!!
That’s awesome fishing time with the family great video
Plastic is definitely better than metal. But if you have a glass container to do it in, that's the best
The old-timers around the Missouri River used to smoked carp and they said it tasted like candy ham
Our TR-1 we had installed 2009 up and quit. I think the circuit board went bad. Shops that did work on the TR-1 gone or don't work on them anymore. The shop I had install the TR-1 has new owner they said they would diagnose problem but no parts. Wanted $185 an hour to tell me what part I need. People told me to get the Terronova but we fish sometimes at places for days and I would have to have access to electricity. Plus batteries added to the boat for more weight. I also had someone tell me he wanted to change to Lithium Batteries in his boat and insurance agent told him his homeowners insurance would go up. I guess some insurances see that as a hazard if over heats and causes a fire in the boat parked by the house. First I ever heard anything like that. Also Lithium Batteries are real expensive. We went to Steven's Marine in Tigard and they installed the Garmin Reactor 40 Kicker on our Mercury Prokicker 9.9 with GHC 50 for $3,650. Calibrated on the water. Seems to work fine. I think I prefer the TR-1 though. We have two Helix G4N units. Helix 12 Si G4N on dash, Helix 10 Di G4N back of boat. I also have the Mega Live so had to buy the Eithernet Hub and cables to connect all. If just two units just a Eithernet cable and adapters on each unit would of been all I needed. I use the dash unit for Sonar and Map, back unit is for Mega Live. I shared all my Helix 12 Si functions to the Helix 10 Di and it displays Si, Di, Sonar and waypoints. Can't share map card with Helix. I think the Mega Live would be awesome using down mode jigging for Kokanee.
Good to know. I ended up putting a reactor 40 and ulterra 36 volt with 1 36 volt lithium battery. Insurance is the same and I love them both. I can get 4 sometimes 5 days trolling without charging.
What’s a good smoker for a beginner
Definitely the Bradley
I found your channel recently, and really enjoy your content! If you ever have an open seat and would like a chill deck hand, I'm your guy. Tight lines!
How long is this stable? Does it go bad fast?
Parasites?
Nice video, what road do you turn on to get to rufus woods? Do you turn off of highway 174?
Columbia river rd
@NorthwestCatch yeah I found it this morning, I caught a quality Size triploid trout. Really nice outdoor environment
@@jasonallen7779right on. Ya that whole area is special
@NorthwestCatch I even caught a fat Crawdad that latched on to my rooster tail. Definitely a serene area. I bet the fishing is better during winter months
Can you precure the herring with say procure with dye... then filet them?
Absolutely
How long will this last? Shelf stable? Refrigerate? Freeze? Looks delicious
6 months to a year vacuum sealed in the fridge. This is only possible if you get enough smoke time on it. The short 1-2 hour smokes will not have the same results
@@NorthwestCatch thank you! I have done jerky for years. I need to try this
@@NorthwestCatchit will not last that long, lol. To good of tasting. Cream cheese, smoked salmon, slice tomato, red onion and cucumber on a sesame bagel. One of my go to for breakfast.
@@carlcalvin1479 that does sound really good.

Nice video man. Was this mid July? I just posted my last video from Wenatchee. It was in august. It was so slow haha
No just a couple weeks ago. We were there on the tail end of the good bite. First 3 days were fire then the bite fell off hard the last 4 days we were there.
@@NorthwestCatch yea I was there august 10th last, and it was super slow.
@@PavlusAdventuresthat was right around the thunderstorm that dumped a bunch of hail and lowered the water temp 5 degrees overnight. It picked back up
@@NorthwestCatch oh dang. That’s good.
I saw you doing some mealtime fishing this last summer at Point defiance. I met an old timer at the antique Outboard Motor club that introduced me to mealtime fishing. He started fishing Point Defiance with his brother and dad right after the Second World War. I bought a big box of plugs from him and two of his mealtime set-ups with Alvey reels on them. I bet they would work for Kokanee too.
Hell ya. Cool story. You found some good stuff
Hey dude, I live in Puyallup. If you ever want someone to tag along and split some expenses like gas and what not. Would love to join you.
Nah, the dumbest fish in Washington are the flounder that hit absolutely everything, especially the Rock Sole. They've followed my line up and kept hitting my sinker numerous times
You have a great point there. They can be really annoying
If you want to get around the having to troll slow thing, switch to a green/glow hotspot and a Michael Bait tied 22" behind the hotspot. Put a 2/0 siwash on the Michael Bait. Run at least 2 of them and it helps to stack "dummy" hotspots. You can't fish just one - that doesn't seem to get the fish to bite. Need at least pair of them in the water. Don't ask me why. Troll as fast as you want too. Sockeye will hit the Michael Bait and the 2/0 just impales them up through the head. Done deal. I learned this from an old-time commercial sockeye fisherman. It works - used it Lake Washington where everyone fishes bare hooks and has to troll slow. It worked exceptionally well. Way to get your lovely ladies on to the fish! They will remember this forever.
Wow thanks so much for the advice. I will definitely try this next year
Some nice fish!! 👍👍👍
If there one tool I miss the most after being forced into an apartment, it's my smoker! Fish, sausage, bacon, etc. I'm now forced to buy it all. _It really sucks._
After 30 years living in Alaska I moved out. Unfortunately I sold my chamber vac and smoker. Man, I sure do miss them!! This video brings back great memories!!!
If you have a grill, you can still smoke. Amazon, Lizzie, 12” pellet smoker tubes. I used mine today. Smoke like crazy. You need a little blow torch to get the pellets burning. I saw these on TH-cam.
Yeah.... I have a smoker tube. The problem here is the smoke itself. They don't want it drifting into other apartment windows. They also ONLY allow small propane bbqs with the one pound cylinders. (Nothing larger) And even THAT will be banned with the next lease I sign! It really sucks.
right on buddy !!!
