How did you guys do in the Derby? I'll be in it this year.
If I remember right we finished 24th out of 47 teams.
We weighed in our 5 best or biggest Kokanee judging by eye. That was a mistake. This year I will bring 2 different quality gram scales and weigh each fish before presenting our 5. When I got home that night after the results, I weighed every fish and we would have easily made the top 10.
This year I will dispatch the fish quickly and put them on a bed of ice saving the slime. I will be camped right by the boat launch at the state park this year. Come say hi.
@@NorthwestCatch Ah damn! I’m sure you’ll be at the top this year. I’ve never really targeted Kokanee before. I’m usually beach fishing. I really want to get into Kokanee this year though. I’ve watched a lot of your videos to help me out. Sick boat too man.

@@jbkokanee1796 I don’t use any aftermarket audio. Turn off wind reduction in the settings and get some dead cats for the front and top mics.

@@NorthwestCatch have you taken the boat into the ocean? I’d like to fish inshore ocean for salmon and crab. I wouldn’t go way out. Close to shore only.
@@cirwin4099 yes multiple times out of lapush and Neah sometimes 30-40 miles out. This boat rides incredible in swells and 2 foot chop.
No slapping at all coming down off a steep face. Average speed on the ocean on a decent day is 18-20mph. 12 mph when the wind waves pick up. What this boat doesn’t like is the 1 foot chop in the Puget sound. That gets annoying.
