It actually is a floor scraper. However, it works pretty well. As far as the slabs, I wish you had them as well!

Yes, however, if you saw my situation, you would see the ease of dumping the tubs down the bank. Also, the tubs or sleds make it easy to bag the Sawdust if and when I have a need.

I see, that does make alot more sense, I'm still working on getting my mill setup, actually I have the mill ready and I'm working on my shed now, can't wait to get sawing, I've been around circular mills all my life but looking forward to the band mill, have a good evening, God bless

No sir. Fortunately, so far, the pine still has integrity. But you are very observant, they are getting very close to the end of their yard storage life. If the 2" x 2"s showed any signs of deformation under the weight of the cants obviously they would be of no good and I would mill from more recent cut logs. Hope this all makes sense. Just curious, what is hazardous about rotting logs? Don't they just rot and make a wonderful soil amendment?

Scraping off the Sawdust. I theorized the Sawdust is a major contributor to mold growth. Just an experiment to see if this nips mold in the Bud. So far, it appears to be working.

An astute observation. Honestly, so far, this situation is not a big deal for me. It is a minor aggravation stepping over the rail when I need to turn the log by hand, but really, in the whole scheme of things, fortunately, with equipment, it's not really that physically taxing to mill with this unit. IDK. I will say, for an entry level machine @ their price point, with their 2nd to none customer service, I would still recommend this unit. Fortunately, every issue I have had has been rectifiable.

I haven't done it yet but will and will do my best not to forget to let you know the results.

To be perfectly honest, I haven't given this a thought. I guess because, if I don't mill the outside of the log there will be no cant in just a few more weeks possible days. The staining is mostly superficial and probably can be surface milled right off. It's a whole barrel full of things to do, just having to do "good enough" right now. Hope you understand and this makes some sense. MY PRIORITY ONE - Remove bark and cambium so logs don't waste away. Thanks

Just trying to save the pine. I've had more logs than time to mill. So, just milling the largest cants I can get from each log, stickering and stacking, then will come back to them and mill desired sizes. We are planning on building an addition on our house. We are planning 4" x 6" rafters on probably 2' centers for the porches and solid sheeting the roof with the 1" x 6". The 6" x 6"s will probably be resawed into 2" x 6" in that I am planning on the exterior walls being 2" x 6".
