big fan of yours. love the vids! you are gonna blow up one day i can feel it. you should try making the largest stucture you can. see if you can make is move or go underwater or fly or somthing. i think the logistical chjallenges with bracing and stability would make for an interesting video. it does seem kinda dull, but making a cube the biggest you can get it while still being able to drive would be sick imo

i mad a disc reader before using senors and colloured blocks

Once I tried to make kind-of real transmission in scrap mechanic using only vanilla stuff. I found a problem that if i wanted to have 1 to 2 gear ratio as a second speed i`d need to fuck all i`ve done and remade it all, i`ve done it and understood that it wasn`t working on reverse and 1 to 1 gear because the same problem as in the wideo where positions weren`t matching. I had only 2 porperly working gears btw, 8-teeth and 4-teeth gears so i decided that i`ll use mod. After some time messing around with this mod and pistons i understood that this ain`t gonna work cuz at my first test with 1 to 1 and revers 1 to 1 gear went f*ukin flying due pistons having problem with glitch-welded stuff (which is how those moded gears kind-of are made) , after all i decided to throw that idea because scrap mechanic just wouldn`t allow me to to a real transmission with it`s physics and proportions

The reason this game is better then all other "maker" games is because of how mechanical you are forced to build in this game. There is no block that stores all the data for you you have figure it out in blocks and then how youre gona read the data from those blocks.

I like how you get this game and the first thing you think of Is building an engine

You could have made the AND gate simpler by just stacking two pistons on each other and a sensor. Both pistons would need to be active so that the block reaches the sensor.

I just used this mod today, took me an hour but I made a differential with no outsource help, except for the same picture provided, my friend had sent it to me. It was a very fun challenge, however my design was different!

for some reason, any time I do anything with binary it has to include an input/output that's either 1 bit, or divisible by 8, I just don't like when there's just 4 bits, or something, if it's a 4 bit input and an 8 bit output then I'm fine, but if there's no input or output that's 1 or divisible by 8, I just won't make it, just one of my weird pet peeves

honestly, every time I try to do anything with logic, it always gets so cluttered I can't see what I'm doing and just mess up a single connection and have to remake the entire thing

10:00 place the controller on a cardboard piece then fire a mounted spudgun at it. the connections made by the controller to the bearings is deleted with the disconnection of the controller from the creation and the power applied to the bearing is cut.

I like your videos. In the Hello Engineer demo, I fabricated an actual working differential, that spins both wheels, until one side gets resistance. Kosmo's version is not a true differential. It only powers one wheel the whole time.

You asked for a block without friction if you attach something to a steering hinge as long as it’s small enough it should just no clip through anything

Ive made an absurd amount of different piston engines in trailmakers and i can say with surtenty that at a surtan rpm, sparks will just appear no matter what you do lol

that clip of scrap mechanic lmfao. i wonder if axolot plan on making the physics calculation like how... every other game does it. the scrap mechanic floppyness is part of the game's character but, like with ksp2, its not needed. the kerbals are entirely competent in making profetional vehicles, same as mechanics in sm. kill the kraken, kill klang, stiffen scrap mechanic!

Great stuff to see, even if it didn't go perfectly it's good to know Plasma at least somewhat allows these sort of mechanical builds Don't have the game so these are just guesses: - I think the friction problem is related to the crankshaft, i would try and make it in such a way that the thing cant flex so easily, the slight differences in angle/timing might have been the issue, other thing to try would be less distance between center of crankshaft and piston-attachment-points, so it has less tendency to pull the piston head sideways - Was also thinking that you should probably not add a light for the color sensor, instead see if you can convert the RGB to HSV/HSB, then just use the Hue value to detect certain colors without having to care about brightness/amount of light, saves on parts & game-rendering and im fairly sure such a conversion function is built in/you won't have to make it yourself

I wish more people would make videos about this game. A bunch of TH-camrs looked at it when it came out, but now it's just a few people making videos.
