Day 22 Phuket to Koh Yao Noi - Cycle touring in southern Thailand
I catch the ferry from Bang Rong Pier in Phuket to Koh Yao Noi, then ride my bike around the island, checking out the views. Koh Yao Noi is sparsely populated, with one small town, only one 7-11 on the island, but there are good accommodation options available

Day 21 Ferry ticket or not - Cycle touring in southern Thailand

I ride 16km from Nai Yang Beach, Phuket, to Bang Rong Pier to buy a ferry ticket to Koh Yao Noi for the next day, however I'm told on arrival that they can't sell me a ticket in advance. That's at ticket office #1, but when I eventually discover ticket office #2, they see it differently and sell me a ticket, plus the price comes down by 50%

This was the only Phang Nga Bay tour I could find that left Phang Nga town, and it happened to be half the price of most of the tours that leave from Phuket. I was a bit worried before it started, but it ended up being great. Only 6 people on the boat, we visited a couple of caves, had lunch on a deserted beach, went to James Bond Island and Ko Panyee (the fishing village on stilts), and went k...

Thanks for your comment. SEA is ideal for bicycle touring, cheap accommodation available almost everywhere at manageable distances so no need for camping equipment, very cheap & great food, friendly people, interesting culture - probably only real negative is the challenging traffic in and around the cities, but even that doesn't take too much to adjust to

I initially recorded this tour using Cyclemeter app then discovered Relive during covid lock downs and decided to make these videos to add content to my blog of the tour, which can be found at www.crazyguyonabike.com/doc/orient You recently made a cameo appearance on a blog on crazyguyonabike by Bill Weir.
