I didn't think we had such a beautiful metro - shocking, everywhere in every station there are walls and floors made of marble tiles... - Vienna should learn what the metro should look like
Station „Rondo ONZ” and some others of M2 stations was designed by famous artist Wojciech Fangor.
It reminds me of a praying mantis.
I've been in Warsaw in 2020 and I rode the metro
Gdzie tlumaczenie !!!!!!!! nie muszę znać angielskiego
With the 20% of Ukrainians in Warsaw now, we experience aggressive and uncouth drivers, litter, and soiled gas station toilets ... !!!
Thanks for showing my country, glad you liked it. West may call us racist, but we would rather keep streets clean and safe 😎😎
no africa so its clean
I can see a strong one-sidedness among the comments - Great Britain as a superpower has been declining since World War I which has only recently accelerated. In Poland, we are currently in many aspects the economic situation of Western countries in the early 1990s - with different dynamics and bases of "wealth", with a shortage of workers and the need to look for labor from the East - such as Germany or the UK from the former Eastern bloc. With a few differences: - Poland very easily assimilates progressive trends and the broadly understood woke culture - the same one that led the UK to where it is today - we live in the era of rapid information exchange - a double-edged sword - we do not have strong domestic companies-corporations in business or technology - we are still a German-American economic colony with an admixture of other countries -We have a war abroad and we are weak millitary -we do not have a strong currency based on our own bank -the average Pole still has less accumulated wealth than the average Western citizen Great Britain is falling, but in my opinion, Poland will fall faster and more painfully in the next 15 years, mainly due to the lack of companies that can "bring money" to Poland from other countries - when corporations stop being lucrative in Poland, they will simply withdraw and deepen the crisis of the economy. based on Western capital. Let's enjoy it while it's good.
21st century, actually it's a good option although the speed of making one cup of coffee isn't impressive 😅 it's nice that there are so many types of coffee to choose from 👍
One of the most annoying things in that part of Warsaw are the pushy, obnoxious beggars (who in most cases are like that by their own choice rather than people who really need help). They will be asking you for money, cigarette etc. and disrupting your peace all the time. In reality, they will use the money to by more alcohol. They are there for decades now and Warsaw city council is not doing anything with that.
I noticed this whenever I was chilling in the park around the palace of science and culture I was getting hassled a lot by people asking for things. This seems to be a uniquely Warsaw thing. Ive been to many cities in Poland and never had that experience elsewhere.
Polish metro stations are really clean and beautifully done! Also there is air conditioning as a standard feature not like in the UK…Poland is definitely one of the best places to live right now 💯🇵🇱
I agree Poland is definitely the place to be right now. I really appreciate the cleanliness of the place.
It is nice, but there is no air conditioning actually. Only Skoda have it but I do not think it’s on as it feels like any other train. The temperatures are bearable only due to interesting ventilation system!
Варшаву евреи освобождали в 1944 году?
Warsaw wasn't liberated until 1989
@@GallivanterDom Как не была освобождена, она с кем-то воевала, сидела в концентрационных лагерях, а сейчас полностью свободна и суверенна, с десятками иностранных баз на своей территории? Странная какая то "свобода".
Guys move to poland and make poland great again 😉
😂 Poland is already great buddy 👍🏻
Dude are you dumb or are you just acting dumb. In warsaw there are just like 2 lines and a few small station. Where there is literally no place to stand. And the "łacznik" connecting M1line with M2 line is so small. That they literally want to forbid going from M2 to M1. So you need to go over at the top just to go down
3.40 it's not cheap
Seems so to me 🤑

Yes, it was super safe when I was there. I had zero problems. Everyone was super friendly and helpful :)

Although I used it long time ago, but since you mentioned it, I must praise the London Underground for its very clear information for passengers (e.g. on transfers). I went around the whole London and never got lost ! I am Polish.
Are you praising London's Underground for mold on the walls and the lack of air conditioning too?" Haahahah delulu 😂😂😂
I agree the London tube is a really amazing transportation system. It's huge and works. However it's not very clean and filled with dodgy people 😅
Thank you for "like". I remember also that soon after the London Underground I had to navigate around the NYC subway and although it was fine, my subjective feeling was the London tube was easier to get around and cleaner as well. The only critical remark towards London was it was then closing relatively early for night but perhaps that's why it was cleaner than NYC. By the way, LA subway was quite unusual at the time I was there , in the sense , in comparison with NYC subway, checking a passenger on entry and exit, LA subway felt like not being interested in checking a passenger at all. Perhaps they were hiring people checking random or all passengers while already in the trains.
@@mxgagat It was more than 20 years ago, I don'y recall any issues with walls
@@GallivanterDom It was long rime ago, perhaps it is worse now but still well organized. One thing I'd improve would be some measures preventing passengers falling onto tracks. I know it happens quite often and sometimes ends up very badly.
1:22 Actually, non of these are functional anymore, not that they have ever been. Some parts of the plans that Warsaw’s metro should be also an atomic shelter had been implemented back at the 80/90s however due to the lack of funds and also collapse of the Soviet Union, thus, a reduced risk of a nuclear war, the plans have been cancelled and for example, at the ursynow metro station only the metal gates that he's talking about have stayed.
That's a shame I would have liked to see one of the shelters.

I'll be moving to Poland one day for sure. I think it's the most liveable country in the world for me personally.
10:16 There are a total of 5 models of trains in Warsaw. 1st is Russian serie 81 which can be divided into two subparts. A) Metrostyle (81-717.3 and 81-714.3) and B) Classicstyle (doesn't have metro logo on the front, 81-572, 81-573 or 81-717P and 81-714P aka. the polish version) 2nd is Alstom Metropolis 98B, kinda simmilar to US trains 3rd was Russian serie 81 remodel from 2009 which has the same model name (81-572, 81-573 or 81-717P and 81-714P) 4th is Siemens Inspiro which was the first articulated train in Poland 5th is Szkoda 23MT / Varsovia which is the newest model.
Oh cool perhaps I'll get a chance to ride on all of them.
@GallivanterDom You probably won't be able to ride the new russian model since afaik it they gave it to the ukrainians. The only russian train that drives regularly is Train No. 2. on the M1 line
ale, że nikt nawet nie nasrał na środku?
Surprisingly not.

Now take into account that Warsaw has 39 metro stations while Madrid or Berlin have around 400. And that building 1km of metro line in Warsaw cost 4x more than in Madrid.
I've never used the Madrid or Berlin metro so I can't compare
Kraków is preaparing for biulding the first metro line because of the traffic jams.
Kraków to powinien już dawno temu zacząć budowe metra albo chociaż plany.
Cool. I think metros are a great way to add transport to historic cities to avoid affecting them aesthetically much.
For about 2 quid you can get a full day ticket. You can use it on trams, metro and buses.
and water-trams + city trains like SKM
Yeah I think it's a pretty good deal 👍🏻
The next day (September 22) was a day with free public transport. You could travel around Warsaw all day without buying tickets.
Do they do that every year?
@@GallivanterDom yep
@@GallivanterDom Yes. On September 22 every year, Warsaw celebrates a World Car Free Day.
There are 4 types of trains in the metro. Not 3 - Scoda Varsovia - Siemens Inspiro - Alstom Metropolis and the only one on the route, an old train from Russia made in 1963 - Vagonmash old. It runs only on the M1 line. Kabaty - Młociny. to ride it, you have to be lucky
a tych ruskich nie wycofali juz całkowicie?
So cool I'll keep an eye out for those retro trains
For some people its a discovery that something could be clean or nice. But actually its not some luxury but..normal. Until mass illegal migration stays under control ( hopefully) , everything should be ok with this place.
Your pronunciation is better than some of the eastern europeans in our country.
😅Idk about that
3:05 "Bródno" no nie... Jest całkiem czysto...
It was very clean indeed
So so nice and clean metro in lovely beautiful capital of Poland 🇵🇱 ❤️ Warsaw. Not like in London Paris or Berlin mate. Godbless. Nice movie. Nice content. Enjoy in lovely beautiful Warsaw mate. Take care. Greetings from Leicester 🇬🇧. All the best mate.
Those capitals which were once great cities really can't compete when it comes to liveability with Warsaw. Thanks for your support mate I really appreciate it!
Warsaw it not that liveable - when you live on metro line - yes - but there only 39 stations. Plus half of year you have smog and polluted air. And cost of metro maintenance is already a pain for car-loving right-wing folks demanding to cut spending on public transport. The reason it is nice is because it is small and no one started cost cutting on it yet. But eventually it will happen and then it will look the same as elsewhere.
"Koszty trzeba będzie ciąć wszędzie , bo ceny energii dzięki opętańczemu "Zielonemu Ładowi " dopiero się rozpędzają . A kolejna chora ideologia "REFUGEES WELCOME" doprowadzi stan i tak zaniedbanej w wielu miejscach naszej niezbyt pięknej stolicy do oczekiwanych przez lewicowców standardów czyli BRUD., SMRÓD , UBÓSTWO.
Look at the roof over the subway entrance, the roof is shaped like the letter M, M like METRO.
Maybe next time I'll bump into Artyom.
The one important thing. When you buy a ticket valid for 20 minutes you can only use the same vehicle you walidated the ticket. Only 75-minutes ticket allows you to change between another vehicles. 20-minutes tickets are unprofitable.
Good to know so I don't get a fine for jumping on the tram straight after XD
Not true. From ZTM website "Bilet czasowy uprawnia do wielu przejazdów w krótkim okresie - w ciągu kilkudziesięciu minut, w czasie których można wykonać nieograniczoną liczbę przesiadek." meaning that a time-limited ticket allows for multiple rides within a short period - within several dozen minutes, during which an unlimited number of transfers can be made. I have no idea where do ppl get that info from, but I've heard it once before.
@@GallivanterDomthat is actually not true. You have 20 minutes to use all means of public transportation after the validation. It does not matter if you go by bus or train.
So clean and modern! No mosques or Graffiti in sight!
It is very clean and modern. However, regarding graffiti, it does exist surprisingly on the Palace of Science and Culture. I see plenty of graffiti but very little litter. There are at least two mosques in Warsaw that I know of, and there is a very small Islamic presence in Poland. Look into the history of the Lipka Tatars; it's super interesting. Thanks for watching, buddy.
Warsaw has a strong graffiti scene
@@GallivanterDom The Tatars have been the loyal Polish citizens for centuries
Is there a difference in UK and how safe or how the cost compare to the polish one? With comparison to pay in poland and it's metro system, and pay in uk and it's metro system?
Yes the level of safety in Poland is much higher than that of the UK. Regarding prices the Polish average wage is approximately 1/2 of the UK average wage but the price of a day ticket in Warsaw is 1/4 the price of its London counterpart. So its 1/2 the effective price for Poles as it it for Brits even taking into account the disparity in income.
Yep, I second that notion: Polish railways are really good. They're reliable, neat, cheap (except for first class tickets with some PKP carriers) and comfortable (they've made a quantum leap in the last 20 years as to the standard of their fleet). It's true for both regional and intercity routes. I can't complain. What's also cool is that when your intercity train runs late and you've got another immediate intercity transfer to make you can ask conductors to arrange for that next train to wait for you so you can make it (I don't know what the tolerance is but I've seen that they are willing to do that if it's up to 15 minutes). I've taken some trains in the south of England recently. While the quality of trains is top notch there seems to be an awful lot of disturbance about: delays, sudden changes of platforms, cancellations, works, faults to trains and infrastructure. Strange. They're proficient at arranging replacement transport though (practice makes perfect? 😋😄).
Haha so true, there is always a replacement bus service ready for every train. I honestly can't compare Polish trains to English. I've had so many bad experiences with English trains just not showing up. Polish trains aren't perfect I've definitely had the occasional delay but they will get you there 99% of the time. Thanks for watching buddy.
16:02 - Welcome to Poznań Główny!

It didn't even come to mind. I guess it's pretty universal. Every metro I've used people do the same thing.

@@Sh4d0vWho would want to live in this demonic city, the only thing nice in Warsaw are the parks and the "old" town.
While I really enjoyed underground in London, I hated them in Paris. Each time when I passed these doors next to ticket validation I was afraid they'll kill me, they shut so suddenly and heavy full-metal tiny spaces. Also their printed, one time tickets are stupid. I placed it in my pocket, next to my cellphone, after checking in on train. Then 1h drive to Disneyland. Then I couldn't exit the station, because they validate it on exit, there was no human worker, and the ticket was magnetic!!! It got demagnetized by my cellphone and it didn't work to get out. My husband (he had his ticket in wallet) run around whole station to find help, we were stuck on 2 sides of these doors for 45 minutes until he found someone who let me pass.
I've never been to Paris and honestly I have no desire to do so. Plenty of people I know have been and they didn't come back with good things to say.
Greetings you from Poland. I lived in Scotland 4 years. It was amazing time. I hope you will back to Poland few times. All good for you
Scotland is a cool place glad to hear you enjoyed it! I will be back in Poland for sure I plan to move there in the future. It's my favourite country by far :)
Just dont forget Warsaw has 2 lines... it's 2024 and the city has 2 metro lines. Lol!
Yeah, I rode both. But more are coming
In fact, these are very long lines, in many cities they would be treated as 4, not 2, and for the extras they are connected in a very fast and sloping system with city and suburban trains, trams and buses.
It has also a few city railway lines. About tram and bus lines I even don't speak. Your irony doesn't make sense because generally the transport system is very comfortable and sufficient for such a city like Warsaw. Of course it doesn't mean it can't be better. That's why it's sistematically improved.
I don't recommend crossing on red in Poland, you are very likely to get a ticket for that
Yeah I have a friend who got a ticket for doing that. It's legal in the UK so I sometimes do it without thinking. Like autopilot. I remember 90% of the time.
