    Dear Paul we purchased the Campari TC08 Wildlife Trail Camera recently. We found your video and followed your setup instructions using the same setting to start with. We’ve reformatted the 128GB SD Card and removed all blue lens protectors. Battery 100% charged. We switched to ON mode to start filming but it doesn’t seem to respond to movement or body heat. It takes lots of videos for 20 sec every 30 sec or 6mins depending on the selected interval. I get 40+ videos over night and it consumes 50% of battery but none are triggered by an animal or bird. I’ve checked for false positives and even walked across and at the camera but it doesn’t trigger it. Any suggestions? Is this a fault or am I not setting it up properly? Excellent video by the way very well done. Philip.

      Hi Philip, it sounds as though the time lapse feature is enabled. Make sure Timelapse is off and monitoring period is off. The camera should not be taking any videos at all unless triggered. Could you watch again my run-through of all the settings to make sure nothing is selected that shouldn’t be.

      Hi again Paul. Sorry to be a bit of a bother. I’ve done what you suggested and these are my settings: Mode = video, PIR interval = 00.30, PIR setting = high. Time lapse = off, loop Recording = off. IR LED = medium, low battery at night = no shutting, monitoring period = off, Side PIR = on, Frequency = 50 Hz, Image size = 36M pict, Number Pictures = 2, shutter speed 1/30 resolution = 2K P30, record = audio. But unfortunately still not recording on activation. Could this be a faulty unit maybe? Philip

    • @paultreviews
      @paultreviews 15 วันที่ผ่านมา

      Your settings seem fine. When you turn ‘on’ to activate - does it give a countdown on the screen? Once it has counted down - usually only 5 seconds - it should be primed and then activate once the sensors sense something. If it isn’t, then something is not right. First try a hard reset. There is a small hole somewhere (I’m away at the moment so can’t check exactly where) it’s near the base. Press the end of a paper clip into the hole to reset. Then check that no settings have changed then try again. If it is still recording video at set intervals and not recording when you wave your hand in front of it, then I’d contact the manufacturer to see what they say and/or get a replacement from where you bought it.

    Thank you for your review on the two trail cameras. I would like to share my experience with TC07 and you may have a solution to some of the problems I am having. I bought TC07 two months and am a little disappointed with its night time operation. The low glow lights from the camera is spooking the rabbits, bandicoots and kangaroo. When the low glow lights turn on the animals the tend to run off. Revisiting your review I now see you mention it, but at the time this fact did not register with me. I was using the Ltl Acorn Ltl-6310wmc which has the longer wavelength IR LEDs and didn't have this problem. Unfortunately Ltl Acorn has now become unreliable. I am also finding that the TC07 triggering is a little on the slow side as the animals need to be moving quite slowly to be able to capture an image of them.

    • @paultreviews
      @paultreviews หลายเดือนก่อน

      Hi! Unfortunately there is a problem with no 100% solution. Low glow give off some red light which is visible to animals. My badgers and hedgehogs don't care about this but my foxes do. Actually foxes are jumpy about everything - not just red lights. However some of the no glow (940nm) trail cameras actually also give off some light at least initially...which has puzzled me - however 940nm's don't give the crisp night time quality of the 850s and indeed look rather 'hazy' to me. I haven't come across a trail camera that instantly starts recording as an animal comes into view of the sensors. It's probably partly to with the fact the sensor needs both movement and heat difference (I believe). Also I suppose it also depends on the distance between the animals and the camera. Are you setting the cameras to take stills or video? I find still images too hit and miss to be useful and so I take a still image off the video if I need one. I set the cameras to record for 60 seconds so I often catch the animal as it comes into frame for the second time as it gains confidence and circles round. I'm sorry I don't have a cast iron solution. I don't know your situation but I've seen some people actually lighting the scene so the cameras don't need LEDs and then they shoot in colour as an added advantage. I don't know too much about the Acorns but don't they use a white light and shoot in colour?

  • @KV-nh1ts
    @KV-nh1ts หลายเดือนก่อน

    I mostly use my trail cameras in the woods, which means this one would probably not fare well since there wouldn't be much sun to recharge the battery. Also, I was hoping for more night vision to test distance. I have a couple of very cheap cameras that have excellent night vision if the animals are in the distance. My WoSport does well only when the animal is confined to a small area around the camera (just like you have set up with this Campark). Also, I prefer to use bungee cords so I need to see the back of the camera to see if there are loops for them to attach to. No one ever shows the back.

    • @paultreviews
      @paultreviews หลายเดือนก่อน

      As you need plenty of power as your cameras are in the woods, I’d agree that an integrated solar panel plus backup batteries would be ideal. Check out my other reviews - particularly my last one of the CY95 - I also show the back of the camera to give a really good idea of its possibilities. Couple of interesting changes from the TC07 in your review to the current version, that I purchased a week ago. Both USB connections have been upgraded from mini USB to USB-C. The charging current from the USB charger is only 500mA, quite low for USB-C. The image downloaded from the camera using the USB-C seems to be faster than USB 2.0. The camera can actually be used as a flash drive. The user manual has an added page that is not in the downloaded version from their website. It states the internal battery is rated at 5000mA/h. The microphone input level is still quite low, and for videos I needed to raise the audio track level using aftermarket video editing software to get the wildlife sounds up to a reasonable level.

      Ah yes, the ‘Billy’ method! 😆 I suggest you put the camera closer to the bait. Sometimes cameras don’t sense a really small animal. A really informative video, thanks. I am looking at getting a trail camera and hadn't heard of this one. From what you showed, it really does stand out. One thing that I am not sure about, is the true resolution. Can it film 4k at 30fps ? Many socalled topline cameras use very dubious descriptions like upto 4k at 30 fps but in reality the 4k is at 10 fps which is as good as useless. The same applies for photos, is the claimed 46 mp true or is this interperated? I would much value your experiance on these points. The big seller for me with this camera is the wifi connection, most others don't have this making setup composition and checking on what has been recorded difficult at best.

    • @paultreviews
      @paultreviews หลายเดือนก่อน

      Glad my review was helpful. This is indeed a good camera. Yes, it shoots at 4K 30 fps. The 46mp stills will almost certainly be interpolated, I would say it’s a native 8 or 12 mp. Having said that, the stills are fine and I never set higher than 12mp on any of my trail cameras. In reality I only shoot video as stills are really hit and miss as to positioning of the animal - best to shoot video at 4K and then take a still from the video if you need stills. You will then get a 3840x2160 still which comes out at 8mp. Of course if for some reason you need a higher mp still, then just interpolate yourself afterwards. @@paultreviews Thanks for such a quick and comprehensive reply. I was initially looking at cameras from Skypoint, Stealthcam and Bushnell. All cost 250-300€ and I was put off by their marketing using very vague and misleading info. Most of these were not truly 4k 30 fps. Thanks to your super info I discovered a few newer, better and cheaper cameras. I ended up buying the cy95 and got a deal on it for just 80€. I liked the idea of the wifi, the better image quality and the fact it was actually easier to obtain in Austria. Thanks again for your help.

    Paul I too have this model camera amongst my collection, I too use tripods almost exclusively in my garden. I modified the front base of some of the cameras I have that have no existing rear bottom 1/4 inch mount by using double sided sticky pads under a block of nylon 60mm wide x 28deep and 20mm tall pre drilled and tapped 1/4 inch so now on the tripod only the light weight back swings open and the rest of the camera is firmly in place on the tripod. I find it so much nicer to use like this and the block is removable if you don't like it without damage to the camera paint with a little alcohol to soften the glue. Very good review btw.

    Paul, how is this CY95 compare to TC22 that you reviewed before?

    • @paultreviews
      @paultreviews 2 หลายเดือนก่อน

      That's a really good question and a bit of a dilemma. Someone else was thinking the same (see further down in the comments) and this is the reply I gave them: -------------------------------------------------- I know exactly what you mean - I am enthusiastic about both those cameras and either would be a really good buy. Let me try and make some differences: The picture quality is really good on both cameras but slightly better on the TC22 The audio is good on both but slightly better on the TC22 The TC22 uses the full size SD card which is less fiddly. The buttons are bigger on the TC22 and easier to use. HOWEVER: the CY95 can take AA batteries as a back up and indeed would work even if the internal battery failed, so could be really handy in the long-term. I much prefer the small, solid form factor of the CY95 - and I believe it’s more sensitive in detecting wildlife (at least in comparing the CY95 & TC22 cameras I have) - it doesn’t miss much and that’s really important. As a first time buyer I would suggest the CY95 and I wouldn’t be without mine - but I also really like the TC22!

    Hi Paul. Just received this camera. I think the quality of the daytime shots is superb. However the camera does not seem to trigger at night (battery fully charged). I have it set to just video but I am trying to use the starlight night vision feature but am shooting at a target (food bowls) about 1 m away. Think I may be trying to run before I can walk so may try just B&W night video to start with. Have you tested the starlight night vision?

    • @paultreviews
      @paultreviews 3 หลายเดือนก่อน

      Hi Paul, I actually leave it on starlight and it does actually work. Because of the long days the hedgehog is arriving just on the limits of day/night and this camera records colour at twilight when my older cameras are already in B&W night mode. Shouldn’t make any difference if you set starlight or not - it should record full night video/photos when it gets fully dark. Test out nighttime to make sure your camera is working properly.

    • @paultreviews
      @paultreviews 3 หลายเดือนก่อน

      Just a thought - I suppose you have ‘monitoring time’ to ‘off’ so it’s in active mode day and night.

    • @PaulChapmanUK
      @PaulChapmanUK 3 หลายเดือนก่อน

      Got it sorted now. I think I used the setting "extra colour" at first so when I changed this to normal nighttime mode it worked fine - including the starlight shots as it got dark. I am impressed- It is a really good camera. Thanks to all for your help and suggestions.

      It’s a lot more than 30 seconds - I’ll let you know when I’m back home in 5 says. However you said ‘it lost me right there at a gap of 10 seconds.’ I too would prefer a much smaller interval between videos (it’s 5 seconds for photos) That’s why I set to longer videos (60 seconds) so there is no interval.

    Can the two cameras record video simultaneously, or does one record video while the other takes photos?

    • @paultreviews
      @paultreviews 3 หลายเดือนก่อน

      When you say ‘cameras’ do you mean the two lenses? One lens takes the daytime pictures and videos and the other does the night-time pictures and videos. Unfortunately the camera cannot take pictures and videos simultaneously. None of the trail cameras can do that. If you have set the camera to take both photos and videos then it first takes the number of photos you have set and then it takes a video. All trail cameras do it this way.

  • @procha97
    @procha97 3 หลายเดือนก่อน

    My Campark TC22 ticks nearly all the boxes for me. Excellent video quality, day-time & night-time, but wouldn’t it be great if they could incorporate the sound quality of their Campark TC21 into their Campark TC22. And why not at the same time add their detached solar panel to boot! This is nearly the perfect camera for me. I’ve been using Bushnell NatureView HDCam cameras for many years, but I need 36 AA lithium batteries to fill all 3 of them! Roll on solar power, but a backup of 4 AA batteries, as in the Ceyomur CY95, (or is it the Campark T180/TC08?) would be a good idea.

    • @paultreviews
      @paultreviews 3 หลายเดือนก่อน

      Everything you have said I agree 100%. If only the manufacturers would incorporate all these great features into one single camera!!! The audio on the TC22 is really good and I’m pretty satisfied with it - but I expected it to have the audio of the TC21 I had reviewed earlier, which as you say, is absolutely outstanding. But I don’t like the nighttime quality of no glow cameras. Give us It all in one ‘low glow’ camera - 4 back up batteries a la T180 would ideal. I hate buying 8 batteries for one camera with no internal battery.😆 I am going to write to the manufacturers with our ‘wants’ list. Just to add - the microphone on the TC22 is at the base like most trail cameras - the microphone on the TC21 is at the front. That could be why it’s so good - it’s pointing at the action.

  • @procha97
    @procha97 3 หลายเดือนก่อน

    I have the Ceyomur CY95 and quite like it, but is it not the same, if not identical, to the Campark T180/TC08 which you have reviewed? Who makes what? Confusing!

    • @paultreviews
      @paultreviews 3 หลายเดือนก่อน

      You are correct - all very confusing. I would say basically they are the same with one or two updates such as USB-C sockets on the later models. I use both the CY95 & T180 and treat them as though they are the exact same camera. I like them. The CY95 I have recently reviewed uses the Wildlife Cam app - which is a better app for connecting to WiFi as it cuts out a couple of tedious steps. Having said that I wouldn’t be surprised if the latest T180 is using it as well now. CY95 is from Ceyomur and the T180 from CamPark although the name Voopeek has recently appeared for CamPark cameras.

  • @SynthFreaq
    @SynthFreaq 3 หลายเดือนก่อน

    Does it take genuine 4K footage and not just upscaled 1080? I have a Campark T180 that purports to do 4K vid, but it's clearly just upscaled. Are you able to confirm?

    • @paultreviews
      @paultreviews 3 หลายเดือนก่อน

      That is THE question! I have asked the manufacturers and they say it is. I think it has a named Sony sensor. Can’t remember the name of it but it might be in the manual that can be found online. My view is that it could well be native 4K (well UHD to be pedantic 😀) Either way I’m pretty astonished at the daytime quality - and the night time is very good although maybe not 4K.
