      Could they use a technique for the SD card to utilize more than 64MB on the N64? This way, they could create an original game without the 64MB cartridge limit.

    I know 2 game's that have similar mekanic like your game. One off them have element's fire ice ect and wean combine those you made custom spell's for example you able to make fire fireball and other spell with this system, The other it was mode in unreal tournament 2004 that call soul keeper on this the mage have book that you have Drow the shape on the page 📃 in the order to perform the spell,

    Releasing the binary that was made with Nintendo's library is DMCA-able. Releasing source code that simply makes reference to the library, but which otherwise contains no Nintendo code in and of itself, is NOT DMCA-able. Please retain a lawyer to explain this to you.

    Kaze's optimized game engine with 30fps/90hz or 120hz and vr should be enough. That's if you want it to natively work on n64, maybe. Just my opinion.

    I get that it'd be cool to run this on an actual n64 but wouldn't this be a substantially better experience just emulating it on the occlus quest 2 as is? I feel like you could get substantially higher frame rates and make it more enjoyable with less motion sickness. Maybe somebody's already done this and I missed that boat. There's a 3d platformer made solely for VR that sort of has dk64 Mario64 crash bandicoot Spiro vibes, as in that kind of 3d platformer, and the depth perception and camera movement is flawless, it's absurdly satisfying and should be the gold standard for how these games feel in VR, I can't remember the name without pulling my quest2 out but I feel like you might know what in talking about. You and kraze should develop a rom hack that follows this over head following camera and over haul the code to make it work. It'd be a ton of work but it'd be ridiculously satisfying and legendary amongst rhe VR and mario64 community. Trying to just make the current camera system offset for depth and two renders or a first person mod just isn't the best vr 3d platformer experience. The camera system needs to be totally rehauled. There's an extremely ideal way to experience 3d platformers in vr and it's almost like an overhead isometric camera that can fully pan around 360 degrees. It's a highly rated platformer game made solely for VR and is an indie game. Try to find it on the quest store and check it out, as soon as you play it, it'll make sense and you and craze will be legends if you can overhaul mario64 to play like that. It'd be good enough for Nintendo to buy it from you and release it on the quest store honestly, but that's just my opinion, I'm sure someone here will know which game I'm talking about and drop the name.

    It's interesting to see how people waste such time on something so stupid. "I got VR on the 64, but it runs like dogsht" yeah I would have expected that. You could prolly double the frame rate by just duplicating the left eye to the right and off setting it to be a right eye. But in all reality, these types of projects are really just dumb, take your talents and make something truly new and unique, not mario in 64, but plays like potato.... I mean I can appreciate it, but dam what a waste of talent

    In scenes where its just the VR View, bring your head closer to the screen and "split" or "unfocus" your eyes, and then merge the new "duplicate Mario" into one, this causes the stereoscopic image to line up, and you can see the 3D Depth view!!!!! If done correctly you'll see three of the mario's

    James is the kind of guy you meet randomly in a bar. He tells you about his passion, but it's too much for your brain, so you think he's crazy (in a good way). Then you go home, and while sitting on the toilet, your brain processes everything he said. It makes total sense and is super fascinating. You go back to the bar the next day, hoping to see him again, but he never shows up. You start to question your sanity and reality, eventually becoming an alcoholic and dying. It's all dark. Suddenly, you hear someone pressing the power button. You wake up, realizing you are reborn as a character in Mario 64 VR.
