Welcome to my food and cooking channel! I'm a documentary filmmaker who's passionate about bringing creativity and flavor to the kitchen. Cooking has always been a hobby of mine, and I love exploring new ingredients, techniques, and cuisines. Through my channel, I hope to inspire you to try new things in the kitchen and develop a love for cooking. From quick and easy weeknight meals to elaborate dinner parties, I'll be sharing my favorite recipes and cooking tips along the way.
In addition to sharing my own favorite recipes and cooking tips, I also love to explore different cultures and cuisines by visiting places that are passionate about food. From street food vendors to restaurants I love, I believe that there's so much to learn about. So, on my channel, I may also feature some of my visits, learning unique techniques and sharing some delicious creations with you (I may even throw in some of my documentary work).
Let's embark on a culinary adventure together!

We all have met a drunk like the 2 camel's 1 coffee guy.....
20 to 30 years ago our veterans payed to stay and live like that. Now thanks to our government illegal immigrants are getting paid to live in and destroy 5 star hotels on the very same avenue
The Bowery is completely gone. It does not exist anymore.
the correct way, looks good......ad some gun powder for the US biscuit version :)
Miami in the 80"s . I can relate 😅
Oh this is tremendous. Wonderful. Thank you so much for this beautiful film.
Miami in the 80’s! 😂😅 dying
Miami in the 80s ? Weird comment and your hairy hands and arms are creepy werewolf-like. Don't rub too hard ? Beat it like it owes you money ? You're weird and creepy. I'll pass.
The garlic addiction story has to be one of the most bizarre reasons to lose your livelihood.
You can’t keep shit bc NOTHING LASTS FOREVER. NYC, the Bowery, was a microcosm of the life outside. The BOWERY taught Life to everyone, from top to bottom.
Perfect . Thank you.
9:30 only man who never got bit by bedbugs tho 😆
I guess there's no money to be made from owning a place like this. Real estate is too expensive now. As much as a place like this looks terrible and sad, isn't it better than sleeping on the street? Rooming houses like this one would be a step up for lots of homeless people. It's better than a shelter. At least they get their own space. But it's doubtful that places like this will ever come back, even though they could serve a good purpose. Money rules everything and if money can't be made, nobody is interested.
So very sad this started when regan started shutting down mental health long term care .an to be honest we are here again today very few long term care anymore .they are trying this mainstream them into apartments with supervision but ........
This was happening way 100 years before Reagan.
Well done. I imagine all these guys are gone now. Sad
Watched this a few times now, such a wonderful non judgemental piece of film making…resonates with me on a very deep level. Thank you.
Better off going to prison than being in these tinier cells as a result of Saint Ronnie Raygun's Trickle Up economics.
I’m no fan of Regan but this was going on long before him.
The thing I loved most about this band is that when they started getting attention the singer responded with the utmost humility. She didn't let the fame go to her head in any way at all.
The man that ran the errands reminded me of "Mr. Dill Harris" in Harper Lee's, "To Kill A Mockingbird".
No sugar on top please 🇨🇮
Wat happen now this place ? Wat about all those people now ?
This documentary tauch my heart. I just listen again again mr Nathan piano in delete scene vdo . Few movies and documentary I seen again again . This doc on of them
Oh my heck you are hilarious!
i stayed in a handful of places like this in Atlanta, Birmingham and Huntsville.... most accurate doc i have ever seen!!
Thanku for Sharing the Recipe!!! British Scones my favorite.🇺🇸
Dont add sugar! They are meant to be plain, but uf you do its like 2 tiny teaspoons. And use normal plain organic wipped cream you beat yourself and dont add sugar to the cream. You have enough sugar in the jam!! ❤
Then that wouldn't be Fortnum & Mason's recipe, or a proper English scone.
Fascinating documentary about the tragic side of human nature. Thanks for sharing
Great doc, sad.. i guess they are all gone now….
Yes, except for Kashmere. She is still alive.
Nathan was a funny cat
There's a 20 minute radio documentary on the Sunshine by David Isay & Stacy Abramson. It's also awesome. Great subject, great characters, great execution.
Yes. They did the radio show about a year before I made this.
@@mdominic just finished yours and it's also so great. for above reasons. well done!
Chauncey Street apartments are over 2million now
Thanks for uploading! I saw this at Rhode Island in 2001 and it stayed with me. Great film.
@@seanmartin343 Very cool! That was one of the screenings that I attended. I remember that festival because the people running it were not friendly at all in comparison to other festivals.
wow.. love this documentary… love the characters… thx for sharing this…
I wish I knew what happened to all the people in the documentary! Also, who was cleaning the bathroom? Or if they tried to spray for bugs lol poor guys. Did vic ever leave??? I have so mamy questions. Also, they shouldn't have deleted any of these scenes. Great documentary! Very interesting!
Mostly, they died. Kashmir is still alive and well. She is living in Staten Island. She took part in another documentary about four or five years ago called Born to Be. It’s a very good documentary. You should check that out. The original version had all of the deleted scenes, but that was a 2 hour 15 minute film. It was way too long in my opinion. But that is the way it showed at film festivals.
@@mdominic thank you so much for the response! I will definitely check the other documentary out!
Seen this while back beautifully restored . Thanks
Out of the 5 video's I've watched for technique, THIS ONE WORKS! Great description and the scones turned out fantastic!
I feel so privileged being granted free access to this beautiful work of art and humanity. The characters are presented unapologetically; fallible, but not flimsy. This piece sure hihhlights how beautifully painful it can be to exist as an outlier.
I love this documentary so much. Thank you for making it and posting it 🥹💗
Thank you for this existential film. It made me think about how life passes by when we insulate in fear or after a loss and become stuck. On every level your film generated compassion for humanity to me.
The human experience ❤️
one of the best documentaries I´ve ever seen. Congratulations
🚬⛏'r!!!!! 🐒💥💨💩⁉️
SRO's filled a need for cheap housing for derelicts like these. Better to put them in a flophouse than have them homeless.
I'm so shook. I started visiting NYC in 2010 a lot. I would tell my Dad before each adventurous visit and he would say, 'Don't forget to go to the Bowery'. His father, my grandfather, stayed in the Bowery as a Ukrainian immigrant who landed on Ellis Island in 1911 and sold hot dogs on Fifth Avenue and washed windows until deciding on a much more sedate life in Saskatchewan, Canada. To say that alcohol and using robbed each man in this movie of his genius is an understatement. Either way, this is a remarkable account of the best and worst of humanity.
Everyone in that film is dead I assume.
As far as I know. Everyone has passed away, except for Kashmir.
Brilliant Documentary Thank You .
The equivalent of this in the UK would be a homeless hostel. Interesting insight. The guy who does large strides to run errands was a funny guy 😆 and the black guy with the purple t-shirt at around 1hr 25mins in he was right, I've been there myself. Thanks for posting this.
I don’t know wth was that lady’s problem at the garden but what a bitch
I LIVED IN S R O'S FOR 7 YEARS IN THE 80'S IN CHICAGO
Wow… fantastic piece of work. Thank you so much for this. ❤
