Wollongong to Perth – AI Podcast
We're not advocating for AI. The tools are rapidly getting more powerful and in most cases, people can’t tell how content is being created.
Google have a new AI tool currently in Beta. This tool summarises what you upload and creates a pretty impressive Podcast. The audio on this video uses Google's Podcast created from our Facebook Posts during our RideDay East-West trip from Wollongong to Perth.

Backroads to Ross - Bypassing Hobart, Tasmania
มุมมอง 1.3K3 หลายเดือนก่อน
Tasmania Day 6 - Kermandie to Ross After breakfast at the Kermandie Hotel, we met Darrel Young at the DS Cafè at Huonville for a chat about his wonderful ‘Ride the Byroads’ project. And that’s what most of our ride was about today - riding part of the Byroads (RtB) gravel route to Ross. This was a great start to the day because the route totally bypasses Hobart. We rode through to Bushy Park th...

Wee Jasper Road - in Perfect Condition We woke in Tumut to a beautiful blue-sky-morning but waited until the temperature reached 6º at 9am to begin our back-road ride home. There were lots of road improvements on Wee Jasper Rd and it looks like the Forestry is grading its own brand new routes. It is an easy, enjoyable ride to Wee Jasper, then a nice twisty, sealed ride to Yass. However, after W...

It was time for another ride - an overnighter to Tumut where we discovered a most amazing ride - another one to add to your bucket list. This time we shared the pleasure with David Powell and Renee Fraser. We follow Open Gate Photography who recently posted some beautiful photos of an area outside Boorowa. So this became our starting point - we left home at 8am on a chilly Saturday morning, and...

Having enjoyed Thunderbolts Way, Brackendale Rd, Knoddingbul Rd and the routes through Wingham & Comboyne, today we decided to try the Enfield Forest - Upper Yarrowitch River Rd, Enfield Rd & Enfield Range Rd. Gold Coast to Tenterfield - it just kept getting better. It was time to make our way home after visiting family, staying with Mum & Dad on the Gold Coast, so we headed out early through Canungra, Beaudesert and Rathdowney where people were out in their numbers commemorating Anzac Services. Plenty of great twisty roads steered us to Maroon where we soon had the pleasure of beginning our gravel r...

It’s definitely well worth watching because most people don’t go across Australia by motor bike especially across the Nullarbor. It’s an epic ride especially when you consider the Antarctic winds that were prevalent at the start of the trip.

Yes, we stayed 2 nights at the Tullah Lakeside Lodge. We took the 'budget' rooms which were pretty small but also pretty cheap - we don't spend much time in a room - only to sleep. The location good, environment great, and the restaurant/bar/café there is ideal. Meal prices were normal and the meals were quite nice and very big - the second night we shared one of the big Parmys. They also have a $5 'drink of the day'.

The way AI can scrape the internet for information to fill out the narrative of the trip is impressive. But it is still disjointed and impersonal, as an example, going from the Flinders to Broken Hill to the Bight and suddenly to Perth. It doesn't do it for me. I have been watching and enjoying your trips for a little while now, and really enjoy your simple, homely and informative narrative and visuals. I wouldn't swap that for any form of AI fabrication.

That was appalling!!! The continued use of this AI rubbish is a sure fire way to drive away subscribers. As an aside; I'm retired now, but spent 30+ years working in IT and it's my belief that AI is a very significant threat to lots xox ways we do things. I'm not a luddite, I like new things but AI is different. Look what people said about Twitter etc. etc. when they first release and look at the nightmare it's become. Sorry to rant, but I just don't think people realise the threat. Look at ABC TV's Australian Story from last night (14 October) if you want an indication of our AI future.

I’m not advocating for AI and certainly understand yours (and others) fears as it is becoming more and more embedded into society. The purpose of this video is to share how AI can, in a few seconds, summarise information and have two voices discuss the content with opinion, fact and humour. The tools are rapidly getting more powerful and in most cases, people can’t tell how content is being created.

    • @jeffarnie

I’m in the “not a fan club” when it comes to AI. I can’t tell if photos/ videos are fake or real, particularly in social media. It is amazing though of what can be done with it. Possibly because I’m sick to death of all the media attention to the USA elections, the American accent has put me off this one. I wonder if AI can do accents.

Thanks - great comment. 😀 Hindsight tells me I should have mentioned Mt Buffalo (great rd without the peak season traffic, or very hot temperatures literally melting the bitumen on corners) and Euro-Merton Rd (great 100km/h rd, surface and twisties). There'd be heaps more to mention, some we've ridden and lots we haven't. We are always looking for new roads and now-days, gravel too, whilst a lot of people tend to do the same roads over and again. Mt Buller - long straights to get to a nice climb as an out-and-back. Haven't done Whanregarwhen or Yarck and couldn't find Harry's Creek to know if we've done it. Archeron Way (in the middle of the gold mine of roads) isn't sealed (unless that's happened recently). Interestingly, I didn't mention Baw Baw either, but that's because we didn't get inspired by it. Thanks again for the tips.

That’s great. It is a real beauty and we’re glad you enjoyed it. Did you actually do the walk up to Thunderbolts Lookout as well?

Probably rain bars not speed bumps, stop water running down the road and eroding it

Thanks. We usually do a bit of research to plan rides and find that sort of info is good for others looking for similar rides. That area is amazing.

Fantastic video thanks putting it all together and editing it so well. love the way that you took the time to clearly state the roads that you road along. I’ve got two weeks holidays coming up in October away from work and this has definitely got my interest! Have subscribed to your channel. Thanks again such a great video cheers.👍🏼✅

Thanks. Definitely a premium ride in the area. I’d also recommend you check out the Deepwater to Tenterfield (last) bit of our Old Glen Innes Rd video - we really loved that ride too. Do it to/from Tenterfield.

We didn’t want to repeatedly ride the same roads so started to do the dirt. If you ride the VIC roads, our Victoria’s best 30 (video) may interest you.

A lot of 35s, but looks like a marvelous ride! Will be doing it for the first time on the way up to the Northern Rivers this Spring .. 🎉

Be good if they finished some of the road repairs by then. Stop off at the iconic Grey Gums Cafè. 👍

Lovely vid and thanks for the excellent production. Haven't ridden this but drove south via Wee Jasper a few years ago with the family and my oldies in our 4WDs, on our way down to the Vic High Country. It's beautiful countryside and has excellent roads, as you note. I'm currently riding a Ninja 1000 but don't mind knocking up a few kays on half decent dirt roads. When it gets a bit warmer I might have to look more closely at a ride like this! Cheers from Sydney - Dave

Thanks Dave. We have done Wee Jasper a few times and thought it was in it's best condition on this ride. It looks to be getting a lot of maintenance lately so giving the Ninja a run mightn't be out of the question. 😀

@@rideday01 Sounds great. I grew up on dirt bikes as a youngster around the Mid North Coast (Mt Bago area) and have been known to take road bikes, including my Blackbird some years ago, on very rough (and sometimes) muddy roads. Not very smart, but sometimes you find yourself with little choice! Love your videos mate and look forward to indulging in more of them. Cheers, Dave

That White Swamp Road is horrible in the wet

    • @rideday01
      @rideday01 2 หลายเดือนก่อน

I could imagine. Probably as bad as Billirimba Rd (when wet). A group of 20+ riders doing an Aussie Bike or Hire ride had to turn around a little while back because it was wet and they deemed it too slippery and dangerous.

Thanks for the video. I have ridden from Canberra to Tumut via Wee Jasper on my 2007 Kawasaki KLR650. There is no fuel in Wee Jasper. After rain, the corners on dirt roads can be wet and muddy.
