Cecilia Villar Eljuri: Full Life Interview
A great musician. The only bad thing about Tanya Donelly is that she is a Democrat, leftist. It is a big big shame.
"If you want to grow a garden, you can grow a garden." God I love her
I worked with Kat, when she was a propmaker, at Universal, in the early 80's. Also when to they're shows. Legal Weapon was awesome. RIP Kat.
I love her bird 😭
her husband is super lucky
This poor interviewer was way out of her depth. She sounded so embarrassed talking about whether they were gay.
Thank you!!!! Damn so much of what she says reminds me of the 70s in LA. I was a suburban white kid who drove up to shows. Not IN the scene but a great consumer of it. So many memories brought up. Damn-I guess nostalgia like this is what it means to get old!
TANYA!!! Speak to me, and edit.. Or just take it down. I'm not one of your big stories. You can let this go. I never been a "Woman In Rock". It's 4 x longer than it has to be. and it looks, as bad as I can look. If you took a second out of your busy life just to write back and ask what could be done, It should be soon because after x-mas, though it's so cool the music fans are in the comments. It's comin down. Far as I know I own this body and voice. We spoke before the shoot, I said how long?> You said as long as you like. I said as long as it's edited top 30 or 40 minutes I'm quite a talker. You said yes, I'll be "excising" and editing, you'll be involved, don't worry. But no-- Really uncool. You have all my contacts. I know you learn as you go. Me to. Well, learn this.
living legend, that sophmore Come record is unreal
Still Beautiful
JD Calendars were epic...
I started listening to your album Brenda Lee Top Teen Hits, when I was 13 and babysitting my nephews. I am now 72. I was singing along with your songs, and never stopped. I was so in love with you and your songs. I finally got to see you at a fair in 1980, never forget it. My sister and I own a Karaoke Bar since 1996, and guess who I try to sing, Brenda Lee of course. And been told I sound alot like you. Now, I have voice problems and don't get to sing anymore, but I won't ever forget any of your songs, and I will never forget getting to finally see you in person. Thank You for giving me my love of music.
love this.
This is a terrific interview..looking back on the history of Hole and Courtney Love you have to wonder where in the hell did Ms Love get the energy to get to where she eventually did...like her or not she was quite the hustler and she hit the pavement running. I have much respect for C.L. and i know thats a very unpopular opinion but the lady has moxie, and talent.. Aside from all that Hole were a great band, especially the early singles and debut album, very powerful band!
American Thighs was a really good and unique record still listen to it sometimes
Louise is so hot
Gross disgusting 87 year old teenager
Who’s the transsexual with the blue shirt??
19:45 to 20:15 That's a funny origin story of JD getting into Le Tigre. LOL 22:55 to 23:15 Yeah, Kathleen mentioned her struggles with her fame in her memoir. 37:09 to 40:03 So this is proof that Le Tigre is known to be a "DIY band", pretty interesting to hear from one of the members themselves. This was a pretty good interview, thanks for posting!
Really wish someone would ask her about working with ELO, since she sang back-up on "Livin' Thing" and I believe "Tightrope" as well.
I'm glad I got to see Legal Weapon play in '83. Thanks for all the music and rest in peace, Kat.
😢
😂 Carl Roessler is my Uncle. Mike Roessler was 19 yrs old when he was invited to be on Jonny Carson... "LOOK UP" 15:05 carl/mike/paul ROESSLER

I would love to wonder why....... alll these children who are taken from star to STARz, be it ole country girls/ boys.ect all end up in i tetviews wearing black n white.................do the math folks
Wow, what a great listen that was. And how refreshingly honest of Melissa to say those things about not getting Hole or Courtney ay the time. Met her a few times and she has always been very approachable and engaging. Loved her song-writing and Auf der Mar work too. And kudos to the interviewer who didn't butt in all the time like a lot do and just let Melissa talk. I was at Reading for that first big show she mentioned - it was an extraordinary time and performance from a deeply emotional Courtney. The great John Peel said the same.
Hi ginger how are you? Remember me moving you to goodies? Wow that was 1962 0:56 😅 😅😅😅😅❤❤😅😮😅😅😅😅
What a sweet, genuine, and talented woman!
Pure awesomeness! 👌🙏
What an amazing person! I came here for her great drum skills... But ohh my god what a great and forthcoming person❤
I hope the interviewing skills have sharpened up by now. This was a lot of fun regardless.
It's really cool to hear Jill Emory talk. She's played on some of my favorite music but was always kind of a mystery
I got to meet Terri Nunn roughly 30 years ago back in the 90's. She has a special aura about her. I was so nervous i barely spoke to her. But i never forgot her advice to me when she held my hand. Ms. Nunn, if you ever read this. I wish i had said more to show you my appreciation. Not only as a great singer and a gorgeous woman, but a beautiful soul. I believe you knew me, understood me spiritually. I love you for that.❤
First of all, I always loved Garbage and Shirley. This interview, what she says about the music industry and specifically the record labels always asking for more. Isn't it interesting that famous people go through the same shit as the rest of us.... how you can overperform and help make your employer more and more money and still be made to feel like you need to do more, to the point where the negativity takes over and eventually works not only against you, but them as well. It's really too bad because music lifts us all up and I hear this again and again from musicians, and begs the question - what sorts of wonderful music could have been, we could have heard, if these musicians weren't jerked around so much, warped and micromanaged by their record company. Maybe I am over-dramatizing but I don't think it's an accident when a band like Garbage puts out most of their best stuff under the small label rather than the big one.
It's interesting watching this interview as a fan of Nina Gordon who has never heard the music of Veruca Salt. I discovered Gordon from "Tonight and the Rest of My Life", bought the album, and didn't care for her harder stuff. And try as I might, I absolutely couldn't get into Liz Phair, who I always heard Veruca Salt compared to. So while I could have looked up the music of Veruca Salt, I just never have gotten around to it. Anyway, I had read a couple articles about the split of Veruca Salt, and the ones I read had all portrayed Louise Post as the bad girl in this, that the two had a seething hatred for each other and that Post was especially making that clear in her current music. It was almost as though there were two members of Veruca Salt--Nina the angel and Louise the devil. So seeing this interview, I notice that Louise Post, if she has horns, keeps them well hidden under her hair. She seems like an absolutely delightful person, and of course any wounds between the two seem to be long gone. It's clear that the two are once again great friends and collaborators. And as they said, there is a lot of parallel between their story and that of the Bangles, where the industry tore them up as Vicki Peterson had told them they would, how they couldn't handle a two-female-lead group any more than they could a four-female-lead group.
It's a shame about her brothers lifestyle choice
Эту старую женщину не знаю!!!! Люблю ту маленькую девочку- из 60-х годов- которой 10 лет и она поет в маленьком пышном платьице.
Killing babies is wrong.
Zia's so damn cool...I approached her and Peter after the Dandy's show in Houston last year and told them how much I enjoyed the show, and she couldn't have been nicer, signed my tee, and was nothing but gracious and friendly.....it's so cool when you meet your heroes and they ARE as cool as the image they portray.
She was/is SO talented, but OMG! She's a wreck! It's amazing what too many drugs and too many men can do to a chick...
Freda Payne singing Heart of Gold in 1970 is just about the foxiest thing ever
Wot a load of bullshit... the soul point of "Garbage" NOT being "trash" is that Shirley Manson is a beautiful Scottish woman....
Shirley, I really love your song Godhead it's really funny and at the same time very uplifting, it's makes me feel so good - like the GODHEAD, I can listen it on the loop for hours until I fall into the sleep. Thank you for this music!
11 minutes in and I have massive respect for her.
She's so inspiring. I love her, wish I could be friends with her, or other women like her.
What a fascinating story. Loved hearing her talk. I've always loved Hole as well as her solo work but never knew the full story.
L❤VE this channel ! Thanks.
israel are genocidal terrorists.
What a lovely lady with a beautiful voice and beautiful spirit.
Veruca salt, please tour again! ❤
They couldn't handle those nasty rituals
