Interviewed by Tanya Pearson for the Women of Rock Oral History Project
The Women of Rock Oral History Project is a collection of digital interviews and written transcripts, housed at the Sophia Smith Collection at Smith College-one of the oldest women’s history archives in the United States. Started by Tanya Pearson in December, 2014, WOROHP documents the lives and careers of women in rock whose work and careers have been underrepresented or omitted from rock journalism and historical scholarship. With a collection of publicized and accessible primary source documents, the Women of Rock Oral History Project seeks to facilitate a more comprehensive, inclusive, and accurate cultural history.

I saw Peaches preform tonight for Pride in Dublin. It was as much a concert as it was a pure art exhibition. I had an hour walk home and listened to this the whole way, it's an absouletely amazing interview, Peaches being so forthcoming and honest but also an interviewer who asks great questions but also knows exactly when to ask questions and when to listen. Loved every second of it

This is the first Peaches interview I’ve seen and it was great. I’ve always known her for Fuck the Pain Away but it’s great to really see who she is. Thanks for this.

I'll never forget finding a hot pink "PEACHES IS DJING!" flyer on a telephone pole in Toronto circa 2006-7 (have to admit I kept it! Who wouldn't?). Loved when Deap Vally opened for her on tour circa 2015. She rocks x

Thanks for doing this interview! I wish you had hit more on how she got from taking in and obsessing over all the great music in the world and wanting to create her own to the type of music she ended up creating. Clearly she wants to flip the male perspective upside down, but to be so 'crass' (not complaining), I guess that's part of it. She did mention it briefly - what is this? is it serious or is it a joke? etc. I'd love to hear her elaborate more on that. Maybe she has done so in other interviews. Anyway, great stuff! Oh and I love that I now know Peaches was a daycare teacher. That made my day ☀
