    Was also rambling this hike from Sligachan lonesome in about 1991, but (unfortunately) without going up to Sgùrr na Stri! Were also great whether conditions at the end of july - really moving memories! So thx a lot from Berlin, Germany! Another grand video on a perfect winter's day. My brother and I did Sgurr na Stri a few years ago. We did a linear route. We took the boat to Loch Scavaig, climbed Sgurr Na Stri, and then walked back to Sligahan. It was a great day out.

      It's such a magnificent viewpoint. I did it last year in full snow conditions too. We were lucky enough to get a big snow storm, followed by a lovely blue sky day. It never seems to last long in the glen with the salty air. I've never used the boat yet, but looks like a great way to approach the hill.

    Another good video of munro's I will probably never, climb unless I hire a guide. The scrambling is too difficult for me. It is good to see what I am missing lol.

      @andy-astro 7 วันที่ผ่านมา

      Hi, thanks. These are such beautiful mountains. The scrambling isn't as hard as it looks, just some of the exposure in the Cuillins can be overwhelming if not used to it. A guide is always a great idea if at all unsure of the routes, and they can deal with any rope stuff that may be required.

    Another good video of a quieter part of Skye - helped by good weather. I have done the first two hills on the walk in similar conditions. I was going to do Glamaig, but I had cramp on the way down to the col! from the second top. Is the ascent to Glamaig from the col as steep as it looks?

    • @andy-astro
      @andy-astro 15 วันที่ผ่านมา

      Hi. Yeah, that last climb up to Glamaig is very steep with a lot of scree. There are lots of grassy patches you can stick to on the way up though, to avoid most of the scree. Thankfully it was dry, so the grassy patches were quite grippy.

      @@andy-astro Loch a’ Bhealaich Leamhain at the pass is to be dammed, Earba will be the lower reservoir. I’m amazed you haven’t heard of this dismal scheme. ScotGov is 99% guaranteed to approve the plans because they just wave everything through, landscape doesn’t matter to them. Better get up to Loch Fearna (Quoich) next to record that lovely spot for posterity - it’s also potentially on the death list. Have a look at Nick Kempe’s Parkswatch Scotland blog to read all about Earba. You’ll need a stiff drink.

    Nice one Andy, well done. Ciste Dhubh is always a favourite from Glen Shiel. We were almost up there yesterday but we decided to head further north into Torridon. Just a super walking day. Cheers

      Thanks Charlie. Yeah, it was a great day to be on the hills, nice sunny and cool. Your day out on Beinn Eighe looked fantastic. Cheers.

    Andy, another incredible video! Yours are the best hiking videos by far - no distracting music, just as it is. I always feel as though I am walking along as well. Look forward to your next one.👏

      Thanks Steve, I'm glad you are enjoying them. I like watching silent hiking videos too, there's something comforting about just hearing nature, footsteps and wind.

      Hi Andrew. I did the same and bypassed the Corbett last time. I was tempted to just do the Corebett on it's own, but decided to continue on to Ciste Dhubh again. Best of luck with Rum, the circuit of the cuillins over there looks fantastic. Cheers.

    thanks for sharing, takes me back to when i climbed this, the 2 other corbetts nearby and the Fisherfield munros (6 of back then) about 20yrs ago (not all at same time), it’s an amazing area and really appreciated the remoteness. wish gopros had been around back then!

      Hi Susan. That's my first time in the area, looking forward to doing more. The gopros are amazing these days, really impressed with how good the footage is from such small cameras. Cheers.

      @@andy-astro Best of luck with ur adventures in this area! just re-read my comment and noticed i had written Fannichs instead of Fisherfield, 🤦‍♀️, updated now. Have had a gopro last couple of years and records great footage, just not so clued up on getting it onto YT, lol.

      @@susanmurchie Thanks Susan. The best way is to learn to use video editing software to cut and order the clips, then add transitions and contrast/colour etc, making sure to set the project to the same settings as your footage (eg. 4k30/4k60). Then upload the finished project file (mp4) using the icon beside the bell at the top right of youtube. Takes a while for youtube to upload and then process the file to the highest quality.
