I would like to see a competitive fight but I think Jones is just going to obliterate Stipe on the ground. He's too old and Jones' wrestling and grappling will be the best it's ever been, he destroyed Gane effortlessly and he's been training with Gordon Ryan. He's not gonna give Stipe a chance to do well on the feet, it will be a wrestling heavy approach and I don't see Stipe stuffing more than a couple attempts on his old man hips. Great breakdown, as always. I couldn't agree more with your point regarding Chandler's long break: his fighting style is not one that lends itself well to multiple fights per year anyway. Oliveira and Chandler are two of my favourite 'fun' fighters of all time; along with Poirier, guys who have never once fought to 'win a round', guys who are either fighting to finish, or fighting to survive. Modern day gladiators. With that being said, I think I lean 60/40 Charles, based simply off the fact that he likely has more ways to win. I'd love to see Charles display improved takedown defence, and more urgency from the bottom if he gets taken down, rather than his usual assumption that he ISN'T losing a round while in his guard. There's no return to a title picture (outside of opportunism) if he doesn't show improvement in this aspect of his game. From Chandler... wow, is it too much to ask of him to NOT throw caution to the wind while fighting in MSG? 😅
