I recognize Jones as the goat, it's why I'm not interested in seeing him against less challenging & much disadvantaged opponents (such as the Stipe of today). I didn't care much abt the main event.. frm buildup to fight night honestly. I was a big DC fan in his fighting days but I respected Jon as a better fighter than him. Jon these days sounds like he doesn't want to be challenged anymore, he just wants to fight for the fun, money & the notoriety of winning over named opponents. If he wasn't the champ of the division.. what he wants to do would be okay. But he is and I'm one of those oldheads who believe the title comes w/ duty to the division.. the champ needs to welcome the challenge of the deemed contender.. unifying the belt is his duty. If he doesn't want to do his duty, it's just right he vacates the title. I would buy the fight w/ him vs. Pereira if it's w/o a belt on the line.. not to see how he will perform though but to watch Alex problem solve and respond to Jon's game. The co-main was great and deserves a closer look, Charles 'evolution' in particular. It looked like he's developing towards a style that'll answer for Islam's efficient game on the feet. Even from his fight w/ Arman he seemed to be working towards reining in his offensive weapons on the feet and this recent fight was a progression w/ his pace noticeably now more consistently balanced. Chandler's baits didn't work on him anymore.. he completely dictated the pace.
@@jocollantes4258 👏👏 Jones was also 8 years younger with a 12 inch reach advantage when he fought DC. Hearing Jon at his media day interview trying to dismiss Aspinall because he's 7 years younger and 30lbs heavier than him while he holds the belt in that division was wild. I personally recognise Jones as ONE OF the GOATs. Bit of a cop out I know, but I feel like we haven't been observing the sport long enough for a single competitor to truly rise above his contemporaries in an inarguable undisputed sense. Jones early run through LHW was legendary. The second half of his LHW career was largely uninspired, and his return to HW after inexplicable time off just leads to a lot of asterisks in his 'legacy' (PEDs, suspensions, various scandals outside the cage, controversial decision wins, possible strategic time away to avoid certain fighters, cherry picking opponents). So, in my opinion, ONE OF the Greatest Of All Time.
I watched your predictions video, once again I admire your critical thinking skills, particularly your calls on Bo Nickal not being 'the future' and doubts still about Ruffy, both of which I agreed with. Ruffy has some exceptional (albeit risky) counter-striking skills. He looked a little hesitant to lead the striking exchanges, to strike first rather than second, and to lean a little more on the basics instead of the flash, but for his second fight in the UFC, he's one to watch. Bo Nickal had an extremely one-dimensional striking approach. Standard level-change into to big overhand that all wrestle-boxers use, and a poaching lead hook where he tried to get in and land and get back out to avoid damage. His corner gave him TERRIBLE advice after the 2nd round: 'in, out.. in, out!' He had a lot of work to do to get past Craig's kicking game at range, once he did he had success at the boxing where Craig is notoriously poor... why go back out? Just.... stay in, risk an exchange and more than likely get him outta there? Olives was composed, measured and patient, this is Oliveira 2.0, he's fought like this since his ineffectual wildness against Islam. Jones spin kick finish was great. Stipe looked underwater for the most part. Jones is also visibly declining, has been for years, which makes me very intrigued to see your reasoning as to how he beats Aspinall? If you read this comment, perhaps that's a possible future video?

I have not seen this take anywhere, but I just thought to myself that maybe John Jones wants to fight Pereira more, because John Jones knows that his legacy primarily was at Light Heavyweight, and he most likely won't be remembered as the Light Heavyweight GOAT if Pereira continues as he is currently continuing, but if he beats Alex Pereira, then obviously he is the undisputed Light Heavyweight GOAT, and the reason why he is not interested in Tom Aspinall is because probably he knows that his case for the Heavyweight GOAT is pretty weak, because as it stands, Stipe still holds the record, and previously there was Ngannou, now there is Tom Aspinall, that's just my opinion.
Love your vids bryce man! Thoughts on the fact that dana's pettiness about ngannou is the reason for the jj we currently have - it's become a mess and it's damaging the brand he's spent so long trying to market as legitimate.
I definitely think that Jon can beat tom, i think that he wants an easier “legacy” fight for big money. He knows Tom is gonna be a tough out, and a hard win. He knows with Alex, he can take him down at will. Jon’s ego is insane so if Dana does what he always does and and then offers him the bag, he’ll fight Tom
You are black tho hahhaa your pick is based off you being black.... Stfu.. He looked so shit last night, I turned it off. Tom would 100% finish this clown in the first round. Both of them were so fucking slow and shit it was brutal to watch. Stipe is 42 years old, still working as a firefighter, even was in this fight camp lol. Just stop watching the sport.
There is a way? He's the defending champ of the division, Tom is the Interim champ, that's the way. Jones should have no choice in the matter: fight the No.1 contender, or vacate.

He wants to fight Pereira more because he’s a way easier fight. Simple.
