L’audio di Made it, specialmente su Apple podcast, è un po’ fastidioso perché è troppo sensibile e insieme alle parole si sentono respiri, deglutizioni. Però ottimo podcast.

6:14 Clarity of thought shows up in clarity of description. 7:08 Aggressiveness is the last layer of conviction, and is unimportant. Conviction and determination are most important - and that can show up in quiet confidence, a subtle way to approach things or being out there, doesn't matter. Being too aggressive and obnoxious can turn off recruits. Looks for the depth of strength of character more than the last layer. 8:15 *Great founders = irreverence, stubbornness, don't listen, pain in the ass are terrific traits because it comes from a place of conviction.* Conviction yields stubbornness. Remember those adjectives and wear them as MEDALS, because those are the great adjectives that'll get you through the tough times. 10:50 *If there’s no PMF (product market-fit), you can’t build a company. Founders are terrific at finding PMF, which no investor can do.* Product is the core of the company, PMF is the crown jewel. Terrific business partners can help you build a business if you have PMF. *If you don't have PMF, then you have no company, and it's a waste of time.* 14:20 *Storytelling is very very important - and most founders are only mediocre at.* Most founders are not very good at storytelling, and storytelling is what get you the fundraise and allows you to recruit someone. You're asking someone who has a spouse and security and needs money, to leave the security and join your dream - and early on that's all it is. 16:00 Share your vision with clarity. Don't just tell them what you're doing, tell them _why_ you're doing it. In regards to your product and what it does, so what? What does it mean in the _context of the business you want to pursue._ 16:45 A company is a symphony of products, markets, marketing / sales, competitors & competitive forces. Understanding how that all works as a founder - beyond just product - getting a complete 360º view as you develop is key to building as a great company. 17:50 Italian / European mindset. Great schools but not a lot of R&D centers. Gov doesn’t cooperate well with what young people want/need. It’s not a lack of capital - it’s smart people. Capital follows the smart people. Lack of capital support is not the problem - the problem is lack of young, smart, differentiated founders. 18:40 Two places where great companies come from great university research labs, and from companies that set up R&D centers from which founders can come. 19:40 Capital is the tail of the dog, while the head of the dog is founders who know how to build great products (smart people). 23:40 Italy has a ton of red tape, rules and bureaucracy (sounds similar to Germany and Japan), but an eye for design and beauty - even in programming code. 26:20 Californians don't want you to tell it to them straight, despite what they say. Indeed! 27:20 Believes AGI will be achieved in the next 12-18 mo's and the whole world will be turned upside down. 27:40 Common mistakes entrepreneurs & founders make when VC's make: *Talking about a product but not the context of the product - WHY it’s important, WHY will this product win and dominate, not just what it does.* 29:20 Favorite book: The Outsiders: Eight Unconventional CEO's by William Thorndike 32:30 Mentors to complement, push and accelerate (Don Valentine) 37:50 Money might be easy to be had in good times, but money itself does not make a company. And if you have an idea that even have way hums, there's plenty of capital out there. 38:40 Some seed rounds raise up to $20 Mn 39:00 A spiky founder in a generally interesting area is the spec for what gets a seed check from Sequoia (in most seeds they do, there is no market traction - based on the founder alone) 39:20 You want to do what's in the best interest of the company. Markets & competitors move, so chances are if you move very slow in the early days, somebody will get to it before you do. 40:05 The very best case is to have a good idea and be fortunate enough to find a long term investment partner early on. 44:36 Skyrocketing growth is always good - because growth means more customers, more penetration, more feedback & learning - as long as the unit economics are somewhat attractive instead of lousy. 45:55 Fave interview question: What have you always done well, and what have you learned poorly that you've learned how to do better - and how did you learn that? It's a self awareness question. _Never think you've arrived, because life is a journey, it's never a destination._
