THE best top I have ever made | I'm duping everything !!

As soon as I saw this Dakota top / blouse / shirt from Damson Madder , I was obsessed with it. However, there is no way I would spend 80 quid on it, HA! So what do we do as sewists??? We make it ourselves - woooo!! I used the Silversaga Clara Dress pattern as the base and it worked an absolute treat. Let me know if you have a go at creating this , I hope in even a tiny way it helps to inspire you to make your own clothes.

I think two ribbons are just right. Looks fab and I love your rambling, stream of consciousness chatter to the camera as that’s just how I work. I struggled with patterns this summer and it was the first time I’ve attempted to make two different dresses…
2 different pattern brands using the same size and one was too big and the other too small…😩😩
So hard to do this on my own…

Christie, it looks lovely. I’ve never heard of Silver Saga patterns. So that was fun. My reaction to the top being reversible was despair. 😩Usually that means the top is not sized for boobs. The front isn’t the same as the back on my body.🫣
Can you really reverse it?

I would say if you have bigger boobs you could wear the back on your front and would probably be more accommodating ♥️

You could also drop the elastic lower on the shirt and add length to to it as well.
