One of the lowest moments of my journey was when I decided to quit the Peru Divide, a route I had been dreaming of for months. However, once I changed the narrative I was telling myself, everything felt back into place. If you’re interested in the Hidden Brain episode I mentioned: Change your Story - Hidden Brain (I cannot recommend it enough!) Anyway, thanks for watching and I will see you soo...

I love how videos “magically appear” on my TH-cam. I watched with tears because I too quit the Peru Great Divide in Huancavilica on August, 31, 2023 and rode the bus to Cusco. I was exhausted and suffering from constant stomach issues. I felt like a failure and cheater at first but I knew as a 62 year old female that I was doing an amazing job cycling the length of SA thru the Andes. Sometimes we are hardest on ourselves. Congratulations on your amazing journey!
Oooh. Love this idea: 5 good things! Well… aunque sea 3 🤭@ 7:08
So how often do YOU go back and relive these vids!! ❤😂
What was the name of a town that you mete these american guys which were surfing?
Hi Carla, greetings from Australia. I have just finished binge watching your videos of your ride to Patagonia. I thoroughly enjoyed them. You are an amazing young woman. We know there are a lot of people out there doing this. My big ride was in 2019 from Germany to Kazakhstan and back via the Pamir highway. I was 70 then and after several medical set backs I know I won't be doing anymore big rides. Anyway I just want to tell you that rarely we see such an honest account of such an incredible journey. You deserve full credit for showing your true emotions without sensationlising anything. I can very much relate to the things you where feeling every day. I wish you the very best for the future. You are young and will have many more incredible adventures in your life. All the best Karl❤❤❤
hello! how did you secure your bike during the nights?
👍
Your ride, your rules....You don't have to worry about anyone but yourself and your own adventure.
Hey girl. I miss your vids. What are you up to now?
Cheers from San Francisco California 🙏✌️
When I was in Barcelona, the locals were nasty towards the tourists, absolutely NASTY. We should receive all people from Barcelona in the same way, so Carla, you should stay in your beloved Barcelona....
You are a beautiful soul, Carla. Thank you for sharing your journey. Cheers to the adventure 🌌
Gear list video Carla...tell us your gear
Great to see an update! Good luck with the next things you do!
Super inspiring and great quality! Thanks!
I went to a very similar experience on my peru divide. Its rough. I was lucky it was completely dry for me but halfway in i bailed aswell. Its better to divide the divide before it divides you ❤
Powerful little girl. I was two weeks behind you on the west Coast. Washington to California. Glad to see you made it. Trip of a lifetime. God bless..
great video really great documenting
These videos could make anyone fall in love with cycling, they show the capability of adventure with a simple machine. can't stop watching. Already wanting to just pack up and go, from mcallen tx (reynosa) to Monterrey maybe for starters, but huasteca potosina is the real goal.
Thanks for giving me the phrase I've been looking for to put under a tattoo I've been designing of a bike on a hill, I wanted to put a phrase that represents how a hill will pass even though the climbing will be quite hard (I struggle with hills on the bike, Haven't deal with hard winds hehe but I look forward to, is part of the biking life). Anyway, thanks! And thanks for sharing!
I've watched most of your series, and I think this is my favorite. You've done a great job with these videos. Hope you're doing well!
Amo tus vídeos saludos
Con que grababas? Quiero decir con el teléfono? Una cámara? Una GoPro?

I’ve heard so many bad things about Mexico but this was inspiring.
Super useful, thank you Carla! 👍👍
Glad it was useful!!!
Amazing! Your outlook on life and people around you is so refreshing. Thank you for being you.
They would solve this problem, but Governments have profits from those drugs.

Clara! Thank you so much for all the wonderful videos that I have only just discovered. I will definitely watch all the others! They are such a great source of motivation and inspiration. I especially appreciate how honest you are and how you let us into your thought process, sharing both the good and not-so-good sides of such a journey in an unvarnished way. By the way, your method of distracting yourself during difficult times is actually a legitimate method in psychology. Trying to fight negative thoughts is rather counterproductive; acknowledging them and then focusing on something positive, as you have done, is a good idea! Thank you for sharing and I wish you many more wonderful adventures!
That’s so interesting!! Thanks so much for sharing! I have continued using this method even after the trip haha Thanks again 🌸
Como una meditación! Y está música?❤ You are an inspiring soul!
Gracias 🥰🥰🥰
nena no he fet from Va couver to Patagonia pero i can relly thaaaaat much!! Disfruta d'aquesta nova etapa ❤️🌈
Oi que si? 🫶🏽
I have been watching this series since you started out on Vancouver Island and I must say that you are a true artist Carla. Yes, you are a long distance cyclist but it is evident that you are a creator of quality artistic content. Of course you cannot abandon the trip - how could you channel such great storytelling and video editing? Keep going! You are great and your channel is awesome!
You’re too nice! Thanks so much ❤️❤️
From start to finish, it has been a fantastic journey! Thank you for sharing your adventures with us, Carla!! (Just catching up with the videos). Un abrazo fuerte y que la vida te llene siempre de los mejores momentos!! Ricardo

Wow, that was a beautiful way to end the video. That poem is perfect.
It really is! Thank you 🫶🏽
Hola carla! 💕 Felicidades!
Muchísimas gracias!!!
You said it so well!! Enjoy your time with your family and friends, its so special!🥰
Love your videos, I’ve fantasized about doing a trip like this for a long time and it’s great getting to live vicariously through your videos.
This makes me so happy!
What a privilege to have been able to fulfill that dream. I believe that after such a special bicycle trip, another equally special bicycle trip will follow 👍🏾
Thank you!!! 🫰🏽
16:20 QuUe lindo e emocionante!
Great update and intro! I am glad you are finding many positive ways to incorporate the lessons you have learned on your journey to a fulfilling connection wit home and the pace of life and opportunities for the future. Your videos are always so relevant to me in one way or the other. Thanks for sharing your thoughts and emotions! Cheers to your future endeavors!
All of this 🔥💯 Enjoy the triathlon training! Give it a couple months, Africa will call 😁
👍Carla...I've been following your journey for a long time now...and I'm Still with you ! Maybe one day in the future I'll see your name pop up on the screen and I'll Remember you ! Have a Satisfying time with your family...and Love from Australia 🚲🦘🇦🇺🌹
Great news, great video, thank you for the update! I’m happy for you, hope to see you at Ingolstadt 70.3 in 2025
Simply stay happy and think about one day taking a bike to go from Uruguay to Amazonas, by Brazil. It's going to be wowhhh!😮
It’s difficult to just “STOP” the movement. After I completed my first few tours I started to really understand why I needed to keep that routine in my life with breaks in between for rest. My body was telling me that the movement was a healing source. My mind was attuned to the daily meditation when riding. It was how we were meant to live. I would return to the work routine and the path that society likes us to follow but something was very wrong with this. I felt drained by the old ways. I was a mountain guide in Alaska but I left that for a life of biking the mountains and deserts of the world. You did an amazing trip and don’t get discouraged with the rat race. Just know you can always load up and go to do what most just dream 🙏🏼🌈😊🌲
I couldn’t agree more!!! I am trying to include as much as I can from my cycling life inti my “normal” life, seeing how happy those things-like exercise and being surrounded by nature- made me! Thanks a lot!!
@@carlagoessouth perfect. Stay happy.
