Where adventure awaits | Conquering Jacob's Canyon in Rhodes, Greece (Hiking vlog)
This time, we drove to the opposite side of Rhodes to explore a different part of the island. We discovered a very unique canyon, which we had entirely to ourselves-it was truly incredible. Jacob's Canyon, however, is quite rugged, and at first, we weren’t sure if we’d make it through. Of course, we wrapped up the day by cooling off at another beautiful beach after our epic hike. :)

Firgas & Barranco de Azuaje | Exploring Gran Canaria's Watery Wonders (Hiking Vlog)
Congrats guys for having managed to climb the Jacob's canyon, I know that you are not easily scared but I, that yes I am, must confess that I watched the video with a knot in my stomach. An unforgettable experience for you I imagine The landscape from the top is paradisiacal guys. One question: shouldn't you use special gloves for that type of climbing? To protect your hands? One more: shall we see the medieval fortifications on the town? Kisses and keep on going.
Hi Liliana, thank you 😊 It was truly beautiful and the views from the top so amazing 💙 This wasn't real climbing, so no special gloves or any other gear. It was just a normal hike, anyone from Central Europe where we are used to hiking since we are born, would agree 😁 So you really don't have to worry 😉 Sadly we didn't make it to the town of Rhodes because we were afraid of big crowds, and also didn't have enough time, since we preferred to see other things. But a different town shall make an appearance next time 😊😉
Tommy for king! Peter for queen!
I would not approve 😜 Tommy is only my secondary king, but I am the real one 👑 ~sincerely your King Peter I
Wow the canyon is such a cool hike
Thanks 😊 We loved it, so beautiful and adventurous!
Love watching your hiking and adventure. Do you have a plan if there is an emergency when you do climbing. Loving the area and the view of the Aegean Sea!! Thanks for sharing. Florida, USA
Thank you, Jim 😊 We would just call 112 (European emergency number), depends on the situation, so not sure what else one could do. This was nothing very dangerous, just a normal hike (a very beautiful one). We would not consider this to be real climbing. Just to explain - we are used to hiking since we were small children. It's part of the Czech culture (or the culture of the whole Central Europe, including Slovakia, Germany, Austria, Poland, Switzerland...), people are used to walking and hiking a lot, so for us this was nothing out of the ordinary 😉
Love you both. None of us are getting any younger, please don't put yourselves at risk with dangerous climbing. We viewers want to see your lovely videos for many years to come. xx
Thank you 😊 We know, and the older we get, the less we'll be able to do such adventurous hikes. But really, this one was beautiful, and we were so glad we went. And we wouldn't consider this dangerous climbing, just a normal hike. You don't have to worry 😉
If only! That water was so very clear and inviting for sure. And what a canyon hike. What views to boot! Lucky boys!
We loved the whole day 😁 Thank you 😊
Wow so nice enjoy your trip lovely couple love the vlog like always
Many thanks, Ednie 😊😉
I enjoy joining you on your travels. Stay safe ❤…
Thank you 😊😉
Those yummy sour cherries again brought back childhood memories of a very popular refreshing beverage mainly enjoyed in the summer thru out Greece: "vyssinada", a sour cherry cordial mixed with ice cold water. It's full of sugar and therefore very unhealthy, I am appalled at the amount of sugar we were fed as little ones in the 80s. Very tasty though, and recipes can be found using honey instead of sugar. I wonder if you still harvest these yummies 4 years down the line. Kudos from GR.
We were fed a lot of sugar too in the 90s too 😀 But of course such things are yummy 😁 We still harvest sour cherries and mostly freeze them for later, but this year we also discovered the cherry pie made of them and that is such a delicious treat 😊 We will post more of Greece soon. Greetings 😉
Loved it ! Thank you ❤
Always love discovering new places. Thanks 😊
Haha lol , newyearseve we go early to sleep , like everyday . We can't be bothered anymore 😂
😁😀
Peter, your hair looks so nice and dark and stylish, did you have a fresh haircut before this video? It was fun to see you mushroom hunting. The puffball mushrooms are plentiful here and once I saw a story about someone who found several that were as big as beach balls and weighed over five pounds each. It was incredible.
Hi Kevin, thank you! No haircut there, the hair was just combed and styled differently, haha 😁 We love finding all the mushrooms. It would be amazing to stumble upon such giant puffball, wow! 😊
Great job boys! Love your farm!
$87 from the Czech Rep. to Greece, amazing. Jet fuel is so heavily taxed in the USA, it can easily be $600 to $1000 to fly to a state next to mine!
There are all these low-cost airlines in Europe, maybe you've heard of Ryanair, Wizz air and so on. In the past you could find flights for 1 euro, nowadays it starts at maybe 20 euros 😁 So we can fly really cheap which is great, mainly when we only have our small backpacks and no big luggage 🙂 Wow, $800 to $1000 is a lot, for that we usually buy intercontinental flights from Europe to North America.
Great trip boys, we enjoyed it! Looking forward to your next one. Hugs, Bob & Jim in Florida.
Thanks, happy to hear you liked it. See you next time 😉
Oops, my comment disappeared, it doesn't matter, I'll try it again. Beautiful everything you are making us know about the island of Rhodes, a mythical place if there ever was one. Apart from those wonderful turquoise waters, that majestic tree whose trunk was hollowed out and yet remains alive, ......what captured my attention was that shrine at the top, a place that seems to breathe peace just by looking at it regardless of belief of each one. Maybe I'm idealizing the place but that was the feeling that went through me when I saw it. Well guys we'll see soon.Always a pleasure.
Hi Liliana, we noticed that you were nowhere to be found in the comments. TH-cam can be very weird with this, comments not showing up. Glad you came back and checked 😊 We were so happy we made it to the top with the shrine and those amazing views. It was very peaceful there and all the problems down there in the real world seemed less significant 😊 See you next time 😉
Those views are amazing. Love your videos.
Thank you, Ron 😉
Hello There Tommy and Peter , Hope you are Both well , Great video and wow what stunning views you shared , The beach and sea look so inviting , And nice to see the cute Goats , well Thank you for sharing your wonderful time there , Keep up your Great work , Take care , XX 🏖🐐🌞👍👍,
Hello Paul, thank you 😊 Glad you could join us on our trip 😉
wow! How beautiful the "cave" tree, magnificent. And then what about the view from above "a truly spectacular stage. See you next time R and D😎😎
Glad you liked it, guys! We absolutely loved the view from the top of the hill, very beautiful 😊💙
😎
Beautiful place and beautiful you ❤❤❤be happy 😘😘😘🌈
Thank you, glad you liked it 😉
Is it hot there 🤔
It was very warm when we were there in the middle of October, very summery (around 27°C or 81°F). Now it's colder there from what we saw in our weather app (around 15°C or 59°F).
This is soooo Awesome, I love ❤️ 😍 💖 ❣️ 💕 💘 the place. It's snowing 🌨 😐 here and 31 degrees.
Yes, such a beautiful island. We are back home now, and it was snowing here too. We will still post more videos from Greece - we were there for 5 days in October. So the vacation was short, but we managed to see a lot 😊
We have been to Tsampika Monastery four times and each time it was an experience. The place has an incredible atmosphere...☺
Yes, we really liked it. So nice that you've been there too 😊
The lavender flower is most likely colchicum variegatum lingulatum commonly found in parts of greece.
That is exactly it 😊
Loved Tommy's tree hole tour, especially when he showed us what one does with a window. But he has a good role model in Peter whose house tours always provide us with great demonstrations of what doors, chairs, toilets, faucets, tables, cups, etc. are used for. Keep them coming! They are always so informative!! 😀
Tommy has learnt a lot while filming me babbling during all the property tours. He now knows what is important to show 😂
Thank you , that was great ! Amazing tree too , flowers goats and rocks ! ❤ Tommy is so funny at selfie time 😂 .
Thank you, Ineke 😊 We love discovering all these places on our vacations. Still a lot more to come 😊 When I am being annoying with all the filming, Tommy at least tries to have fun with it 😂
It would be nice to spend time in the sun and sea right now. It is snowing here where I live! I would rather be in the warm sun. Have fun on your vacation and thanks for posting!
Yes, it would be nice. It's snowing here too (we are long back home in the Czech Republic) 😁❄️ We were in Greece in October for 5 days, our vacations are short (we film every day and then edit all the footage when we return home and post the videos over the following weeks). Now it's colder in Rhodes too 😉
2:41 and 3:34 fall crocus: th-cam.com/video/Lns2gIBBkdI/w-d-xo.html
We have autumn crocuses in our garden too, but they are a bit different. Now the mystery is solved 😁
@@tommyandpeter there must be different species. I know that the saffron crocus also blooms in the fall, and looks much different than the ones I'm used to seeing in large masses in gardens.
Beautiful! The scenery is nice, too.😉
Haha, many thanks 😁
My intrepid explorers. May you never grow up!
We don't plan to, haha 😊
We agree....you two are the best!
It was a great day. Yay 😊
Yah! Tommy's finger was right near the white car. Pat yourselves on the back for continuing to climb all the way. Yay.
So happy we made it 😁
There's beauty everywhere, if you just take the time to look. The little lavender colored flowers were so cute.
The flowers were so pretty, glad we stumbled upon them 😊
Too funny, Tommy, showing us your tree Air BnB. You sold that story to me. It looked like it was a gorgeous day. We're all jealous, you know.
Thank you, Fran. Tommy can do great property tours too 😂
Guys thank you. Iam sure after that hike up another mountain in Greece you slept soundly. Lol
We sure did sleep well! Woke up ready for the next day full of adventures 😁
🩵🩷🧡
02:47 Colchicum Autumnale are also called Naked Boys because the flowers emerge from the ground long before the leaves appear. Lethally toxic.
We have autumn crocuses in our garden too, but it didn't occur to us that these ones are also them. They looked somehow prettier, haha 😁
Fabulous day ad amazing walk. Thanks guys.❤❤
Great you liked it. It was an awesome day 😊
thank you guys for sharing...love all the videos you made!
Thank you, makes us happy to hear that 😊
The purple flowers are Autumn Crocuses, amazing how similar they are to our spring crocuses in England! Wonderful video as always, can’t believe you still had light when you got to the top! 😊
Thank you, Jay 😊 We have autumn crocuses in our garden, but we somehow didn't make the connection. Maybe because the Greek ones seem prettier 😁 We were glad we still had some light left even by the time we hiked down to the car 😅
It’s good you couldn’t go into the monastery because the monks’ heads would have blown off when they saw Aries and Apollo walking amongst them ❤❤
It's great to see you sweating while it's snowing in the Netherlands. Lovely to take another dip in the Mediterranean. Bye
Haha, not sure if that is what would happen with the monks 😂 Thanks 😁
that was something i never knew, that you cannot eat olives off the tree, if i had ever came across an olive tree i probably would have tried
I tried in 2022 when we were on the island of Corfu (also part of Greece) and it's really bitter, hard and astringent. Inedible, haha. That's when I learnt how it is 😀
Very nice guys. That place looks beautiful and almost like parts of Italy with the Olive trees, hillsides and ocean views. You picked a place I've never seen before and you are very fortunate to have been there in person. Thanks for sharing and giving me a few chuckles with your humor.
Thank you 😉 We really liked all the places on the island, it is very beautiful (we'll still show more places in the upcoming videos). But that's also true for other places in the Mediterranean 😊 We love discovering these beauties 😁💙
I love purple flowers
We really liked the flowers, so pretty 😊
Did you go to the nude beach 🏖️, were there a lot of people ? Do any of the people speak English, or do they all speak Greek ? Have you encountered any other couples 🌈 ?
We didn't in the end, because there were too many people and as you might have noticed, we try to avoid people, haha 😀 There are always more tourists than locals on these touristy islands and other Mediterranean places, so the people on the beach would mostly not speak Greek. We would suspect mostly Germans and Brits (and Poles) to be there, as they are always the majority of tourists 😁 Oh, and it wasn't specifically a gay nude beach, just a general nude beach.
Nice views enjoy lovely couple your so lucky to Travel makes memories thats beautiful like Always I love the vlog
When the egg yellow is like that not runny but not hard , it is called a smiling egg in danish ❤ ( are you aquarius , like me ? )
Haha, that sounds so cute 😁 Aquarius! We are the best 😁
@tommyandpeter ❤️
aww loved the sweet words at the end❤
Always sad when our vacation is over, but at least we get to keep the awesome memories 😊
If you have tin pan, from a pie, or aluminum foil, use it around the plants that slugs like. The slugs will not cross over the metal. Thinking of your beans. Next year for sure. ❤
Thanks for the tip. We'll see. It wasn't that bad this year with the slugs, luckily they didn't destroy anything important. The bean plant was ok 😁 The most problems we used to have with slugs were that they were eating leaves of our newly planted shrubs when they were young and weak. Now when they are bigger, it's better.
Nice trip boys! Enjoyed viewing it. Hugs, Jim & Bob in Florida.
Thanks 😉
