Glad it was so funny to u!!!!
Am not even working and haven't been for 12 years+,but this is well informed video ❤.
First an H1B visa is meant to fill hard to find employees. Evidently your position must not be hard to fill or became unnecessary. If a severance package was given the employer did something respectable.
Nobody is safe anymore.
Thanks so much for the helpful advice! I really appreciate it. Sorry to hear what you’ve been through, but it’s great that you’re sharing your experience to help others.
You’re incredibly self-reflective and wise for your stage in life. I wish you the best as your journey of discovery and awareness continues to unfold. I can draw a lot of parallels from your own life to mine in fact. Please always love yourself first and always. Yet always be mindful if there’s erroneous thought patterns or beliefs that don’t serve you and that need adjusting or replacing.
I wouldn't go and make a utube vid to make your point when you got laid off. Why? Go find a new job like others.
she's chinese i smell racism due to trade war and stuff.
I thought B1/B2 visa is 180 days, not 90.
Screw them stay outside the us
Make America Great Again!
Healing fantasy is a dream or goal. It's good to hear your growth.
I do not understand why people make videos of them getting laid off. It's a personal matter.
If you bother to watch the first few minutes instead of going straight to comments she clearly explains the purpose of making this informational video for others
She meant separation package?
Been laid off 3 times. No big deal.
You are such a brave smart young lady! Thank you for making this video and sharing the valuable information you are sharing
Have you found a new job yet?
everything is a negotiation basically
I should have negotiated my severance. I regretted it. I had a lot of dirt on them.
very good vid! congrats from Sao Paulo Brazil!
That happened to a LN American company CEO he was out n he was fired...so yes it can happen. It's very unfortunate companies go it.
Your accent is seriously impressive. Was one of your parents American? It’s incredible to me that anyone could speak any language that well unless they started very very young. But maybe I just don’t know how language works. It’s incredible if you just learned to speak English as a teen. I hope this comment is not frikken racist. My intention was to just compliment you, not like assume a Taiwanese person can’t speak English or something, I’m just genuinely curious if you enunciate so clearly just based on a school learning environment (and the tv you mentioned)
I hope your cats are ok.
Lol I like how intelligent and down to earth you are at the same time. Thanks for sharing.
You own an apartment in Brooklyn damn u must be making good money
Former HR practitioner here (did it for about 10years and left the field a year ago). This video was well done imo and could not have said any of this better myself. Also, fun fact, while severance is not legally required to be offered, if offered, there is some legal protocol employers must follow if you're over 40years old receiving severance. I'm so sorry you had to endure this… this was one of the many reasons why I went back to school to do a career transition to chase after my lifelong passions to be a mental health professional. Wishing you the best of luck in your job search and hope you find something soon. 💙
Best option: absolutely don't go out of the country on holidays if you can be terminated without an ample grace period that would allow you to change your flight and go back. (EDIT: or just finish your holidays). Worst option: just risk it that you won't be asked in the border, risk getting deported and banned from even applying for a visa in many years. In the middle: try getting a sponsor from abroad which usually will mean you have to accept a worse decision. But then this means you just went on holidays to some random place risking your livelihood, or maybe you were pressured because of some family issue which would make it understandable.
HB1 visas piss me off because these are the type of people that get abused and the problems, they face with these HB1 visas. It's really exploitative. You definitely need an immigration lawyer.
Get another job I here Elon is hiring and loves HB1 visa people.
THANKS SIR

You're better off not staying in that horrible country.
Human Resources for your company represents your company, not you, the worker. They are the definition of a conflict of interest.
Yes, America has not been the same for the last 8 to 10 years. The racism was starting very bad since Trump in the (House) and it’s getting worse…. Don’t pay attention to the racist people!!! My husband and I went to Taiwan years ago. The people are so polite and respectful ❤ I’m Vietnamese immigrant came here after the war in VN. I live here for 30 years and never have the feeling that I belong here! But you are not alone…if you can, move to the Bay Area ❤
They (immigration officers) do not have to ask if you are still employed. Re-entering the U.S. with an H1B means you are claiming you are still employed. If you are still on the payroll, that is a good workaround.
Americans first
I’m feeling your pain… Be strong, good luck ❤
Wait for i140 and comeback. was it approved?
You will find that whatever country you are living in they all have the same good and bad things because they are all normally human related and that's the common thread.
TBH you should criticise your company. That's highly unprofessional and inappropriate for persons who is on visa and working with them. You had no contact to notify you so you can get your affairs in order, especially if you have responsibilities with family/guardian and/or have animals. If theyre not wrong for this then there is a gap in the US law system that needs to be addressed. Basically they left you stranded from a place you currently and rightfully lived in.
The first mistake you made was taking a vacation.
Goodbye Chinese SPY!
Thank you for sharing your story. Big return comes from investing big. Investing big comes from building conviction, conviction comes from understanding, understanding comes from doing your homework and research beyond surface level.
I agree with you and I believe that the secret to financial stability is having the right investment ideas to enable you earn more money, I don’t know who agrees with me but either way I recommend either digital currency or stocks.
I’ve been diligently working, saving and contributing towards early retirement and financial freedom, but since covid outbreak, the economy so far has caused my portfolio to underperform, do I keep contributing to my 401k or look at alternative sectors to meet my goals?
I've always delegated my investment decisions to an advisor, since suffering major portfolio loss early 2020, amid covid outbreak. I'm now semi-retired and only work 7.5 hours a week, with barely 25% short of my $1m retirement goal after subsequent investments to date.
I would not mind looking up the professional that helped you. I will be retiring in two years and I might need some management on my much larger portfolio. Don't want to take any chances.
*Mr Gary Mason Brooks* a highly respected figure in his field. I suggest delving deeper into his credentials, as he possesses extensive experience and serves as a valuable resource for individuals seeking guidance in navigating the financial market.
How do you really know if a college is good or not, if you never attend classes there. Professors with their PhDs does not automatically make them a great teacher. The really exceptional Ph.Ds. may not even teach undergraduate classes anyway. Often, we select a college based on their reputation and affordability. Many select a school based on their football or basketball performances. Got to get that National Championship experience. Is it a good party school or not. Did anyone research what the dropout rate is? Of course, I am assuming one would get accepted and is in position to make the final acceptance evaluation. The most important thing a person needs to learn is the ability to learn on your own. You don't need a college degree for that. Look at all the college dropouts in Silicon Valley. If you want to make money, then you will have harder time getting rich working for others. You got to be the type that has the talent and willing take the risk to start your own business to get the reward. A college degree is to help employer to filter out people (lack of one). Employer hires college degree graduates, not because they know everything. Employers hire people with a degree, because the diploma shows the employer that person has the ability to learn. That's just my perspective. about colleges for BS. Maybe it is different for MS and PhD. I wouldn't know, since I only have a BS.
You left your can alone while you went in vacation? No wonder you're laid-off
America has elected Trump as the next President. It showed deep down; America is a racist country. There may be some token non=whites in his cabinet. If you are not white enough, you don't belong to the MAGA movement.
Trump and MAGA supporters don't realize their white trash base are not qualified to become Doctors, professors, Engineers, Scientist and other Math/Science related field.. Talents will go elsewhere and will do just fine. America will have a shortage of these professionals.
Yeah it's tough I got laid off in November, one of my friend got laid off after visiting his family in India.. it's a tough time right now
