Hidden Trails of Red River Gorge: Upper and Lower Chimney Top Rock Falls (plus Hidden Arch!)
A hike (~3 miles) along primarily unmarked trails in Red River Gorge. This hike includes four waterfalls as well as Hidden Arch. SECTIONS OF THIS HIKE ARE COMPLETELY OFF-TRAIL AND TRAVERSES STEEP LEDGES FROM WHICH FALLING COULD RESULT IN SEVERE INJURY OR DEATH. We strongly recommend that you become very familiar with this area before attempting this hike, and we also suggest using a GPS tracker to aid in navigation.
Directions to trailhead:
Traveling east on the Mountain Parkway, take exit 33 at Slade. Turn left and then right onto KY 15; travel east 4.9 miles to the Koomer Ridge Campground on the left. Take the left fork in the campground and park in the backpackers parking lot 634B on the left.
Note: This video depicts only a tiny fraction of the vast wilderness around the Red River. Plan ahead to avoid dehydration, exhaustion, inclement weather, and dangerous falls. Getting lost will obviously exacerbate all the above risks.

Another Nice video guys!! I think what you are calling "the Cathedral" is actually called "The Councils Chamber"?? and if you walk through it coming from the Staircase and continue on up the rock scramble, you will come to a neat feature called, "The Ohm Dome" where you can bend under it and come up into a little dome and then hum a faint "ooooohmmm" and it will reverberate.

I saw this trail in the hinterlands book and want to do it. But there is basically nothing on the Internet about it, other than this, that I could find. So glad you lead the way. This will be a great help. Thanks! Just a suggestion, posting the GPS coordinates for turns, etc. would be helpful and appreciated! And for anyone else who likes to go off to these harder to find places I cannot highly recommend the iHike app and hinterlands book enough. Thanks again guys!

I used to drive my truck across white's branch arch in the early 2000s before they closed it on us. The barrier she referred to was just more of the states destruction to keep us out. The arch used to be clear on top with even better views from either side. Nice to see someone put a rope in, that's a good size drop to climb down.

I know this was posted a long while ago but I was looking at traveling there and came across this. Thank you so much. I have to ask. What breed is your precious dog? I had a dog that hiked with me and had a blast running and staying close to me. He was small, white and fluffy like yours. He passed away recently and I miss my small hiking buddy terribly. Please let me know, Thank you.
