Dave F Thanks! In fact on our list, Jailhouse Rock was #11 and missed the cut, but perhaps it deserved an honorable mention.
What about top 10 hidden spots that are off the main trails, good for a super secluded camping spot to put a tent / build fire etc?
And all of these trails and sights are NOT brought to by the U.S.F.S. That's right, they are all unofficial 'user' trails with no blazes or trail designated numbers! There is so much to explore in the RRG that is 'off trail'. Glad you all ranked Cherokee it is a hidden gem!
Got lost yesterday looking for Indian Staircase seemed like everyone had different directions to get to it 😞
@@davidreeves3795 Bison way make a left on Sheltowee trace. Look for a tree that has IS carved on it. Follow path up hill/right. It is such a warn path you will have a hard time losing your way.
@@reaganl.5113 Ya next time down I got it. We seen cloudsplitter and some others but didn't make it over to Indian Staircase.
@@reaganl.5113 we climbed up that sketchy root system attached to the rock. I'm big and out of shape thought I was gonna die 🤣

Yep, ive been camping there off and on for +20 years. This past year tried to camp there with my kid and couldn't believe how jam packed it was. Will be going further off the beaten path in the future 😃
