Hey Johnny Bluegrass, I think I may have run into you on the trail last weekend. If so, thanks for the heads up with Sky View arch, it was fantastic, and I will have to check out the others that you mentioned. Great videos by the way
Did you know that from Sky View Arch you can get to another nice arch called Butler Arch? Also the one high up on the cliff line is actually called Challenge Arch. For those wondering about private land Sky View and Challenge are on USFS land. You can get forest service maps that show the boundaries.
Joe Ray, thanks for the small insight into your fitness journey. Good for you. Was hiking one of your primary exercises when you were losing the weight?
No problem, I always like to tell my weight loss story just on the chance it might inspire someone else. But yeh hiking, climbing, and cycling were my primary exercises for weight loss.
Hi Jeff, I cannot say how far the Eagle's Nest at Eagle Point Buttress is from the bottom, but at least several hundred feet. This spot is one of the most notoriously dangerous at RRG so please be careful with any activities you choose to do there. Thanks for watching.
I had always been told that below the ledge down to these arches was private property? Actually the short section on the way to Star Gap (after you leave the old part of Tunnel Ridge Road) on the left is private property too (near where the junk is). The USFS doesn't always mark their boundaries well anymore. How close were you all to the Nada Twin arches? I've been told that is on private property as well.
Actually we just recently went to the nada arches and they are on private property. I am not sure about the other arches though. Some of the gorge boundaries, like you said are not marked well.
Met you on the Double Arch Trail yesterday, excited to check out the new video!🤙🏼
