Review of 15mm Cetian Tank and GMF Vehicle STL Packs from DRS Models
Today, I'm doing my first review of some STL files. These files were purchased from DRS Models through Cults3D site. They are designed as 15mm models to be used in any setting you find appropriate. They can also be scaled up or down depending on your needs.
I printed a few models from both the Cetian Vehicle pack and the GMF Vehicle pack and am showing you those in this video. However, DRS Models has 20 different vehicle pack designs (available on Cults3D) that have a variety of designs from tracked, wheeled, and hover vehicles.
I printed these models on my Prusa I3 MK3S fdm printer. I used .15mm (.20mm for one of the GMF vehicles) layers with a extruder temp of 200 Celsius.
You can find these STL files and many others from DRS Models: cults3d.com/en/users/DRSMODELS
You can also check out DRS Models website: drsmodels.co.uk/
If you like this and would like to see more STL file reviews, please let me know in the comments.

Painting 15mm Prydian Retained Knights from Alternative Armies
มุมมอง 8054 ปีที่แล้ว
Today I'm going to show you how to paint the Retained Knights for the Prydian army from Alternative Armies. White color schemes can be a challenge, but I've got a pretty simple process that looks pretty nice for these models. If you would like some of these models for yourself, you can find them at: www.alternative-armies.com Let me know what you think of these and how you paint white armor. Pa...
Painting The Gingerbread Gang
มุมมอง 3194 ปีที่แล้ว
I saw some of these models on Facebook and had to get my own. I found them for sale on Amazon and purchased a set. These models are full of character and are great for some holiday themed gaming. In addition to the Gingerbread Gang, I also got some snowmen and a Christmas treent. I painted these up with a fairly basic paint scheme that I think anyone can replicate. If you are interested in gett...
Review of 15mm Prydian Alpha and Beta Posts from Alternative Armies

Today, I'm taking a look at some Prydian models from Alternative Armies. These models are 15mm models for the game Patrol Angis that is set in The Ion Age universe. I bought the rules PDF for Patrol Angis a while ago and decided to get the models needed to play through the introductory scenarios in the rule book. This review looks at the Alpha and Beta posts of the Prydian army. I really like t...
Build and Paint Ruined Stone Buildings

My gaming group has started playing Frostgrave and I thought it would be fun to make some terrain for my games. Of course, these will be usable for a variety of games. A Proxxon wire cutter definitely makes this a quicker project, but with a little more time, a knife will work as well. I hope you like t...
Build and Paint 15mm Star Port Fuel Dump - Terrain Challenge

I thought it would be fun to do a bit of a terrain challenge so I reached out to Mark from the Dice Tales TH-cam channel. We decided to face of in a virtual head to head terrain build. The rules are simple. 1. Build a piece of terrain that would fit in with a Star Port theme. 2. It should be scaled for 15mm games. 3. Minimum size is 3 inches by 3 inches. Review of Battle Valor Games 15mm Dwarian Spearmen
มุมมอง 6444 ปีที่แล้ว
If you have watched my channel for long, you might have guessed that I'm a fan of the smaller scales for gaming. 15mm and 6mm are two of my favorite scales. Way back in 2017, I learned about Battle Valor Games through a Kickstarter. I backed their project and got some very nicely detailed 15mm fantasy models. I've since backed another kickstarter and made some additional purchases and in case y...

I'm continuing my look at some 6mm Cold War era models from Heroics and Ros. I'm pleased with the look of these models and they will be good additions to my Soviet forces. Edit: I feel stupid. • @HerooftheTable
      @HerooftheTable 11 หลายเดือนก่อน

      Usually I can get away with a single coat. It depends on the color and how thin it is. Sometimes you need to do multiple coats to get an even finish. I’m painting these to play with and not enter a painting competition so I don’t thin the paint a ton. My goal is always a decent look that doesn’t take a lot of time.

    • @HerooftheTable
      @HerooftheTable 11 หลายเดือนก่อน

      I don't see why not. Elmer's white glue typically has a higher water content, so you might run into some warping issues. I'd try it on one to see how it looks after it dries before I did a big batch.

    hi, so your using flags that dont go in water to be loosened and slid off the backing paper, ( i dont know the name of that style application, but i had never seen flags not used in the same way as you did decals, soak in water and slide off then wrap around rigging. i have not been successful with the flag " decals" to fold and seal around rigging without all kinds of crazy things occuring ie, signal flags.. if i think i have one or two in place one might dry and slide (on its own weight ) down the upright rigging or flag " rope/cable" , any sort of glue i used on those tiny flags make the flag squish into a ball of waste, kinda melts the flag... my dad served on 3 different destroyers and i have built 2 display cases with the 3 different classes he served on and i wanted each to have the proper signal flag or ships code/name, usually in 4 flag combinations, , all square, 1/700 size ships , hell even hull numbers are hard , but i was able to get 1 or two ships with a flag or two (not american flags but signal flags naming the ship ) for some color in the display cases, i did this twice, since i have 2 sisters i built for them, 6 ships, 3 in each case in a diorama style, i tried the aluminum foil technique , i tried clear scotch tape, but that project i did a few years ago ruined building for me, until recently, i want to get back into building and looking for flag and decal help, as you can see is why i am watching your video, that british flag style i cant grasp, it seems very thick for 1/700 , and im not familiar with cruel seas, thanks for posting it

    The scale of these boats looks all wrong. The E-boats are way too small. The crew would be the size of a tiny ant. Especially compared to the tanker. It dwarfs the vospers end e boats.

    • @HerooftheTable
      @HerooftheTable 2 ปีที่แล้ว

      I think the Vosper and the S-boats seem reasonably scaled each other. The S-boats were about 114 feet and the Vospers were 73 feet. I do agree that as the game brings in larger ship classes, they are very much out of scale, but I assume that is the reality of trying to put those ships into a game that can be played on a table top.
