Bolton to Belfast by Train and Ferry in a Day
So much easier to take one of the direct airport busses... every half an hour to and from Schwedenplatz, Hauptbahnhof etc..
I’m all about the trains 🤓
The buses cost €10.50 and you cannot use the ticket to continue on other public transport in Vienna. Every 30 minutes a Railjet leaves from the airport to the main train station (and then to other cities) for €4.50 and you can continue on with other public transport such as the subway, tram or bus without paying for another ticket. The ticket for REX or S7 also cost € 4.50 and allow you to continue on public transport.
Very useful video for me since currently I am spending the weekend in Vienna, and staying at an airport hotel.
Glad it was helpful!
Thanks very much
No worries
On my bucket list to do. Thanks
Make sure to book ahead as the train departs fully booked!!
Stunning!
Well worth a day of anyone’s time if in the Barcelona area!
I did a similar trip (Poprad to Košice) a couple of months ago after spending a day in the mountains. Good memories. Cheers! P.S. Def worth the 5-sec Google for the proper pronunciation of Košice😉
Cheeky!
Ko-sheets-ey, not Koseetch. Otherwise a very useful and interesting video!
I did struggle!
The appetizer and main course you ordered at dinner is exactly what I would have ordered! Only main difference is I would have had their cheesecake for dessert after that, great stuff! Making it 2 hours late is far better than not making it and having to get off the train earlier due to something going unplanned and I think it’s great you got off the train at San Luis Obispo because I’ve been to that station so many times as I’m completely familiar with it!
It’s a great ride 👍
Super helpful, thank you!
Are you planning to visit?
@@DiscoverByRailwe went today. I can’t over state how helpful your video was for my family. Thank you!!!
A tip from the local: if you ride a taxi, either choose an Uber or Lähitaksi or Taksi Helsinki. These three are the most reliable companies here, and also recommended officially.
Does Helsinki suffer from rip off taxis?
@@DiscoverByRail Sadly, yes. The taxi law used to be very strict, but after it was abolished some years ago, the whole business turned into a mess. Suddenly anyone could be a driver; you didn't need to follow any regulations concerning skills, language or pricing. The newly emerged drivers were aggressive towards each other and passengers, and intimidated some women drivers with threats and even violence. Finns cut down on using the taxis at all, so something needed to be done.
Not all Trains calling at OSL are of the 2+3 configuration. Some, with final Destination further away from Oslo Central Station, are with a 2+2 configuration and tilting Seatback possibility.
Oh so a bit of luxury on the cheap 😏
They've obviously finished the works connecting the airport branch to the main line recently. The line used to end at Dora station, a bit of a dump and not central, where you had to get on a bus. Turin is a lovely city and a favourite of mine (although my preferred route is Eurostar and the train from Paris). Thanks for the video.
It really is a fine city 👍
note to self: don't got in winter! (i'm planning a mid Oct trip). and that is one cheap train ticket!
It was rather chilly!

Great video as always I want to Win 👍
Much appreciated! 🙏
Have you done the trip?
If you bought your cable car or funicular lift online you can purchase a 4 zone train ticket at the machine for around 12 Euros. Also of note, the machines only take cash or debit but there is an ATM directly next to them. Also you cannot buy only the train ticket at the window which is extremely weird.
It’s complicated!!
Lots of great info I didn’t know before but I have to disagree on Venice being Italy’s most enchanting city. IMO it’s Florence by miles.
Na mate, it's Palermo 😉
It’s dream like especially wandering the streets at night!
@@NonstopEurotrip hmmmm, been, great place but wouldn't say I loved it that much
But like how do buy the ticket? Is the the re included in the ec 49 ticket??
That train is not included!
super train super travel man thanks very i like train and travel
Thank you very much!
thank you - heading to Oslo for the winter holiday - appreciate the info
Have fun!
Have now done this - very simple. Ticket machine very easy to find and use. Not sure why people use Flytoget for this trip when the Vy train is just over half the price and only 4 minutes slower. Returning to Oslo airport I managed to pick a day when there was a replacement bus/coach service which was a bit disorganised.
Bad timing 😝

Thats very interesting service pattern and wow that is incredibly cheap!!!
One of the best 👍
Finns like it simple. 😊 Before our metro was expanded, it was literally just a one straight line. 😅
Very helpful as I'm going to Helsinki soon.
Great!
Faststest train doesn' t reach 100km/h average speed. How is it possible to call it high-speef train. And if it was late for 30min, you get 86km/h average. And arraving late is constant deal in PL.
I'll be doing this next week! Very useful info :)
Same!

Hi where is the tram station in Benidorm, is it near the train station ? Thanks
Yes, correct! It is the train station!
Very useful facts with no extra fluff - top marks
Glad you think so!
Looking to travel from Wroclaw to Berlin, and connect onto this service at Poznan. The booking engines are showing connections onto the S Bahn at Frankfurt Oder though. Is that sometimes necessary?
Don’t specify Berlin Hbf as destination but rather “Berlin” as could just be a case of train not going to Hbf.
Nice one Andy 👏
Thanks 👍
Good video, like !!!
Thank you! Cheers!

@@DiscoverByRail I hope you understand very well...
Heres something you may find interesting. :) The name of my country has nothing to do with the interesting and delicious bird 'turkey'...... .....but the name of the bird does have a connection with the name of my country, let me explain. :) In the past 40 years 37 countries have changed their name, partially or fully. Obviously one can not change the name of an apple or an orange etc in other languages, but country names are like peoples' individual names, so if you're named John we don't call you Karen. :) Name of my country has always been Türkiye, it's been known as such since around the 1200's. The name it self has a suffix, '-iye', that is Turk-iye, where the -iye suffix means 'land of/belonging to', just like the Latin suffix of '-ia', which exists in such country names like Austr-ia, Austral-ia, Indones-ia etc. Basically, the use of '-iye/-ia' is the same as the the use of '-land' suffix in country names like Ire(Eire)-land, Po(le)-land, Eng(Anglo)-land and so on and so on. Many would remember the country Czechoslovak-ia which changed it's name to Czech Republic and a few years ago changed that to Czechia (that is Czech-ia). The Latin suffix -ia probably originates from Turkish -iye as Turkish been over 10,000 years is much older than Latin which is around 1300 years old. Spelled in different languages in different ways to phonetically resemble (to sound like) 'Türkiye' we got various spellings like; Turq-uía (in Spanish), Turch-ia (in Italian), Turq-uie (in French) Turk-ei (in German) Turk-ey (in English) Mind you this was way before the animal we currently know as turkey was found by the europeans when they explored the north americas. The bird was first sent to europe from north americas in the year 1519, so up until that point there was no bird named turkey.... ...they came across the bird and thought it was a specie of the fowl/chicken they had been buying from the country of Turkiye at the time, so they named the bird 'Turkey Fowl' to define 'Turkish Chicken'... ....just like how a dog breed is known as German Shepherd (because it's from Germany), American Bulldog, British Terrier, Greek Harehound etc etc. In time you don't get to call the harehound simply as Greek or you don't call the terrier Britirsh, or shepherd as simply German, but in time the Turkish Fowl started to be called just 'Turkey' and later 'turkey', and this went on for hundreds of years. Now in modern times, this caused confusion, especially when we have people across the world unable to point to their own country on an atlas. Basically we didn't change the name of our country, we changed the mistake made in the English language. : ) So, there's some tid bit information for you to have a great day, if you read upto this point you have a great night too, ohh just have a wonderfull life. : ) Best wishes. ;)
Thanks for the insightful post 👌
@@DiscoverByRail Glad you liked it Andy, have a great day. ;)
