I just got one of these today, it’s everything I wanted in a snare
Hello so i have a question i'm getting an Alesis nitro pro is that a decent or atleast good?
That's a really shitty Kit Just to have this beeing Said.. I know it's cheap and maybe with some DAW it may Sound better ... But, just my Opinion, save the Money and wait a little longer and then get something like the Alesis Strike Core or if that's to Expensive have a look on SIMMONS Titan 70 or Titan 50... Way better Sounds and Overall experience... Donner Drums for the entry Level gave you a Lot but i think it's more for the " i don't know which Instrument i like..let's try Drums" sort of people... Thnx for Reading and your decent Review, as always 😉 With regards from 🇦🇹 Keep 🥁🤘🏻🥁🤘🏻
How much floor space would you recommend for this kit? It looks quite big.
Yeah, it's pretty large when you have it setup. I can't remember measurement wise, but it was similar in size to a full-size acoustic drum set, maybe even slightly larger with the left side of the rack.
Can you use a double bass pedal with this?
Yes, works great
First? I was actually just yesterday looking a vid of this kit in your channel because of your impartiality
Thanks, I try to be as fair as possible!
I heard the Bluetooth music input volume is really low and that their is no mixer control. Any validity to that?
It's been a minute since I was testing this kit, but I don't recall the bluetooth being quiet. I think often times the issue is the phone has the volume lowered, so you need to make sure it's turned up on the phone as well. But yes, I don't think there is a mixer control for the volume of the Bluetooth audio signal
What size is the carpet underneath?
I think it was a 5x7 rug, but can't recall, it's in storage at the moment
While performing on stage does it need to connect with speaker?
No, as long as you have headphones on and the stage has a PA system, you just use the main outputs on the back to go to the PA speakers
Thanks for the review man!
Does it support BT headphones?
No unfortunately
You might be able to try using something like AirFly but I’d imagine the latency would be terrible amzn.to/4fKflj7
I like the rectangular tubing of the rack versus a round tube rack.
The rack on the Simmons drum set looks very solid!
Good news, most of the "cons" of this set have been addressed. I just purchased this set for my son, Nov. 2024. The medallions are no longer decals, they are metal medallions rivetted onto the drum. The practice pad mounts are convex to attach more securely to the inside of the drum. The screws turn directly into the mount instead of nuts and washers. You also only need the drum key, instead of a wrench. My set, the Snare and mounted Toms were already assembled. This video definitely helped me assemble the kit, which took under 2 hours.
Question, Alesi Nitro Pro or Donner Backbeat? For beginner. Thank you.
Is there any noticeable latency while playing?
Zero latency
If you use it with a computer with vst software, you might experience latency if you set the buffer size too high
@ excellent thanks man!
Ok this was great info. Specifically the fact that it has no dedicated hi-hat input so you cant run any of the roland Hihats. That was something I planned to do so . . . now im not sure I want it.
Have you used a splitter cable for multiple Tom’s?
Great for live with a mixer.
Awesome video production Nick! I like that blue/red light accent. Great job
Thanks Jake! 🔥
Woohooooooo! That’s Song #2
what about kick and hihat pedals? why are you not using them and is it even possible? if so, what are more options? thanks
Thanks for the details! I'm an idiot when I come to the wide variety of inputs and out puts. That being said, can I connect this device to an amplifier? And do I need a specific kind of amplifier? Thanks
Yo Nick! First of all thnx for another decent Review and of course for Reading this..😉🥁 I have heard about ANOTHER Alesis Drumkit been Released these days, quietly... Seems to be some New Version of their CRIMSON Drumkit, called Crimson 3... Have you heard something about that too? I'll really appreciate if you can have a look on it and tell us what it's all about... Thnx Man and keep 🥁🥁 With regards from 🇦🇹,
Oh nice! I hadn’t heard of that yet, but I will look into it! Cheers!
For anyone wanting to buy this, be ready to have tons of issues with kick and snare triggering. Mines going back tomorrow
I would love to hear your opinion on the Nitro Pro Vs the Simmons Titan 70. Thanks
Dang. You're the first person I've heard that actually makes these kits sound good. Most people I see demoing these kits feel like they aren't used to electronic kits. They have trouble getting things to trigger exactly on beat. This was the first sound demo that actually confirmed that it's possible to make this kit sound really good and usable.
Great!
Ordered mine and waiting for it's arrival. Thanks for sharing.
Thorough video. Thank you for the honesty. The kick is a deal breaker but I wouldnt know that without your review
You can always use a different pedal, unless the pad is the issue for you.
Hello Nick, is the volume of the Strata Core-Hihat individually (separately) adjustable for 1.) bow- 2.) edge- and 3.) chick-sound? Thanks for answering.
It really sounds good I like it
What is the difference between Titan50 and Titan 50 B-EX? Only 1 Tom and 1 Simbal added?
at 17:03 You could actually take that main structure bar that the snare bar is on .... & swap places with the middle tom bar & the snare bar which would give a 3" raise if needed ............... My issue is ...........and if ANYONE has a remedy plz let me know ............. I NEED to have my snare tilt slightly towards me!! Didffereent brack maybe? or some other way?//
WHOIOEVER buys this ...............be aware there is No way to tilt the Snare towards you!!!!!!!! this handicap, imo makes it very unenjoyable.
Deeper shells are not for me. I try not to equate edrums to acoustics. They are different in so many ways. I'm tempted by this kit (even though my DM10 MKII Pro has proven totally unreliable). I would prefer to have a kick tower rather than the 20inch kick. It strikes me as unnecessary?
I think the trend of making e-kits look identical to acoustic kits will fade with time. Or I hope anyway. For playability, I still do appreciate trying to get close to the feel of acoustic drums but totally agree that they are completely different animals
Good morning, and sorry for my english am french, I'm about to buy my first electronic drum kit. I'm hesitating between 3 models : - Alesis Nitro pro - Roland TD-07DMK V-Drum Set - Millenium Millenium MPS-850 E-Drum Set. Can you advise me on one of the 3? knowing that the visual doesn't matter to me, I prefer the quality of the sound, the solidity, the touch etc... in short I want to play the drums not decorate my office XD Good evening
Millennium and Alesis are much cheaper. Alesis ekits have good drum sounds, but Rolands trigger really good, are reliable and sturdy, last a lifetime and that's crucial.
Have Alesis sorted their reliability issues ? My DM10 MKII pro breaks continually. Piezo wires snap as do the thin plastic base they are attached to. It feels like a really simple fix for Alesis to greatly improve their reliability issues. I am on the cusp of buying a Strat Prime. Does anyone know if the Strata is any more reliable? Thanks
Let's see if this aleshits still breaks like all the others do due to faulty design. So much plastic in that trigger assembly to crack under playing pressure, and anytime foam pads are connected to plastic/thin platforms like they did with the Strike series, and all the Crimson pads etc. and they're doing now with the 3 cones glued to a thin plastic piece then one piezo it's bound to snap, crack etc. We'll see I'm not holding my breath. GREAT review however!
TOONTRACK is STILL KING.
replace the entire cable snake if a plug's damaged? naww just learn basic/simple soldering/wiring and replace it for a few bucks and some work with solder.
I just Paid almost 5k for the Alesis Strata Prime Kit.. It arrived New out of the Box with a Defective Module.. I immediately put in a Support Ticket.. 5 days later.. they respond.. (Friday evening) we troubleshoot.. They agree it is a defective Module.. Say they will Get and RMA going for Monday(today) and get a new module out to me asap... Great (even though they are blowing me off over the weekend cause they don't want to mess with it til Monday morning..) I am Missing gigs all the while.. Then Monday Morning.. Email.. Please Package and Pay to Ship Your Brand New Module to us) and it can take from 2 to 4 weeks (from the time they receive it) or More.. To get it or a Refurbished Unit Back to You... .. ... I don't have the boxes to return all of this.. ( i have until Nov 16th..) but i have Never heard of repairing or replacing a Brand New Product with used equipment before..This is Nuts. Doing a TH-cam Video Will post and update with link asap. Buyer Beware.
What a load of horse sh**. Id be super pissed if send the whole thing back as defective and buy an efnote
can you make a vid on your rift. were beginning drums with this set n would like to hit that
Rift? I’m not sure what you mean, can you explain?
@@NickCesarzDrums I think he means riff. Probably what you were playing during the sound demo
Nice intro and playing, Nick! I returned my Simmons Titan 50 a few weeks ago and opted for the Alesis Nitro Pro instead; for just a little bit more, it’s so much better and way more fun to play! I’m definitely gonna have to get myself a Strata Core, once I’ve put a ton of miles on my Nitro Pro, and I’m more of an intermediate/advanced player. Great review as always!
Thank you, appreciate it!
Still sounds cheap to me.
Can't wait to get this after watching this video!
i don't know what kind of insane wizardry roland includes in their top-of-the-line kits in terms of response and durability, but they just don't sound as good as these intermediate kits lol
yeah it's wild, the new Alesis stuff sounds amazing
How quiet is it acousticly ?
Looking at the module it appears there should be an expansion pack available. Wonder if the strata prime expansion kit works? Although one of the exp kit cymbals wouldn't be used.
I'd love to have this kit
