Lesson of Dark Fantasy in Tokyo Ghoul
Just recently caught up on Tokyo Ghoul and getting through the manga by Sui Ishida. Reading and watching the series really made me think about how the dark fantasy genre helps carry its themes across.

Persona 5 - Understanding Distorted Desires (Mild Spoilers)
มุมมอง 2.9K6 ปีที่แล้ว
If you know the games industry, you know that a game’s direction and voice can change over long periods of time may it be for the better or worse. It isn’t until recently after I have finished the game that I started to see how my experiences line up with the Persona 5’s original design philosophy. This video isn't a review per se, its an analysis on my ideas and experiences. Also...trying to g...

Attack on Titan Analysis - How to Engage with Horror
มุมมอง 10K7 ปีที่แล้ว
At certain moments, Attack on Titan doesn't quite feel like your run of the mill shonen. Those are my favorite moments because there's few anime in this genre that executes scenes like this well. These scenes are designed to terrify, surprise, suspend disbelief, and leave you in this dread. Part of how horror works, requires that you have some preconceived notion about your reality, the fiction...

Why do we Empathize for Fictional Characters

Happy Lunar New Year everyone ❤😊
ah yes the silent voice's MC SHOEya ishida
This is a great video!! Thank you!!
Wait, how did is surpass the MCU in 98?
The soundtrack in this Beats any your name ?
Horror is ABSOLUTELY an element of Attack on Titan. An existentialist horror. The horror of what mankind/human nature is capable of and pursues. The symbolism of the human form literally transforming into these ineffable monsters who cannot speak for themselves. The horror of what we resort to for survival and freedom...
Thanks to the sped-up parts in the video, i'm not gonna like Pokemon until May 1st, 12:00. So, I'm gonna private all of my Pokemon videos. My Pokemon obsession started in early August 2023 when I played a game named Pokemon Quest. I have been collecting Pokemon cards since September, I got an Ash hat for Halloween in late October, started playing Eevee in late November, and after that, I collected over 1,000 cards. But now, it's all over, i'm not gonna look at a Xatu or Natu again. This is me, signing off.
I can’t believe I haven’t found this video sooner. Thank you for a wonderful analysis of the soundtrack. This is my favorite anime movie of all time along with my favorite movie soundtrack. Everything feels like it has such love and care and a type of rawness that I love. Like you said I feel like I’m in the room with someone playing piano. The way the music helps tell the story. I will forever love this movie and soundtrack 🤍
Now I am gonna look at what other stuff Nerdy Shenanigans offers.
Thank you for the analysis of the directing and cinematography. "The creators didn't want any camera movement that wasn't motivated." Ah!! Yes. I am tired of the juvenile addiction to herky-jerky fast cutting and camera movement, so fast that the viewer is left bewildered. "What?! What was that? And that! And that? Oh, fuck it." You're right. The director's choice to pause, allowing the viewer to chew on the moral dilemma. Cinema for adults.
Brilliant analysis. These two shows are all about moral complexity, i.e., the human dilemma. Moral compromises, layered motives (both positive and negative), hypocrisy, blundering ambiguity, the whole gamut. All great literature is about moral complexity. Those who want to see characters as "good" or "evil" are missing the point (probably causing the writers dismay). And thank you for elucidating the Pragmatism vs. Kantianism contrast.
you forgot to mention the fact that the first episode of Pokemon the American audience saw was not the "I Choose You" one, but the SS Anne one where they asked at the end how did Ash and co. and Team Rocket ended up in the SS Anne in the first place, so they have to watch the first 20 or something episodes before that, and that helped the promotion of Pokemon in the Western world.
Yamada and Ushio also collaborated on “Liz and the Blue Bird”, and a lot of what you cover in this video is echoed in that film as well.
also all the spider-man theme are based on the orignal spider-man theme. listen to all the spider-man songs and you will notice that it all use the same main accords
The fact that i INSTANTLY started crying after hearing the first note of lit in the start of the video and continued crying the whole way through while listening to the music just shows that it definitely has an impact 😅
A lot of words to not say much
Thank you for this superb Analysis. Ushio perfectly caught the movie's core theme (communication and perspectives) and produced a truly special soundtrack. The way music, soundeffekts, animations, scene-composition, colors, gestures, facial expressions and so many other ways of communication subtly convey emotions and meaning i this movie is simply incredible - everything works hand in hand, every scene has so much to offer, as long as you're willing to listen, to look, to empathize - the movie respects us as the viewers and listeners just as much as it respects it's own cast of characters. I genuinely adore this movie, the manga, and everybody involved in blessing us with those incredible works of art.
Before I saw this video I was absolutely fixated on the Silent Voice Soundtrack. I listened to it at school, outside, and in my room. I realized the reason why I loved the music so much is that it provides comfort. Much like lofi, it doesn’t have lyrics and is easy to understand since I had hearing loss when I was born and enjoyed piano music because of it’s simplicity.
This video is video/channel is so underrated, hope you start uploading again.
This video is criminally underrated, why has this not blown up
Wow excellent video. Fantastic editing and script, really one of the best videos Ive seen in a long time
This is a really intelligent video! Im currently writing an essay on a similar topic and i adored this video. I know you havent been active for a while, but if you still have the login to this account, i hope these compliments find you well lol.
The world's felt a little different since this guy's gone
I miss your videos!!
Hot take, there are so so so so many better and more enjoyable episodes than ozymandias
The presence of piano mechanism, imperfect melody, choice of instruments, simplicity, symbolism, even track titles makes A Silent Voice soundtrack a perfect match for the movie and become one of the best soundtracks of all time. I'm glad that someone created an analysis video and can see the beauty of A Shape Of Light, because this soundtrack needs it. Thanks!
To me Better Caul Saul is a better series than Breaking Bad in every sense.
"poe ignant" lmao wut
The days of wine and roses are over.
Thank you very-very much for this video! This video moved me to tears (here 6:16).
Got any new videos in the works?
This is one of the COLDEST themes in TV history! I just found a “stereo mix” and listened 11 times! What an arrangement!!
Utilitarianism definitely takes into account unintended consequences, it's just that it's a "global" way to look at ethics, you can't apply it yourself cause you don't have enough knowledge to know what maximizes utility. It's been a while since I was in school, but if I remember correctly that's the very goal of utilitarianism, to maximize "happiness" for all. From the moment you start giving different weights to those happiness values, everything goes wrong, and it's a bit what Jimmy is doing, he's progressively the only one that matters in his world view. By consistently rewarding Jimmy's effort with contempt or disappointment, his entourage is teaching him that it does not provide valuable feedback, and so to Jimmy their happiness doesn't matter anymore, because his own seem not to matter either, and he becomes the self-serving Saul. It's like the boy who cried wolf, but for society. In the boy who cried wolf, he loses the trust of the village by constantly lying, and at the end, even if its true the village doesn't believe his real fear. In better call Saul, society loses the contribution of one of its members by failing to recognize him, so at the end when Kim realizes how damaged Jimmy is (when he doesn't care about Chuck's death) it's too late. Now his entourage gives him *actual* negative feedback, but it's too late 'cause he has grown "immune" to it.
5:19 yes it does, you'll get a distinction of wether an action is justified from a certain vantage point, i.e. given certain information, and wether it is actually moral. The morality depends on the consequences alone. For practical purposes, this means that utilitarians need to adopt (and advocate for other people to follow) heuristics, as calculating any and all consequences would be too complex.
Yesss 6:38 was masterpiece
bro it gave me the chills holyshit
And search pokemon theme song Chicago. And see how popular pokemon is, people sing in road really i never see like this. No anime can did this that pokemon did. After this pokemon popularity and pokemon theme song showed in theatres I really understand that pokemon is best 👍
Every year pokemon get most views in animes. Pokemon get 115 million views 2nd doraemon 95 million views and 3rd shinchan 81 million views and 4th naruto 41 million views. Pokemon no 1
Pokemon is best 👍 and no 1
Karma is playing a big part in BCS plot.
Pls make a video with the same content: music analysis for the anime "Your lie in April"
the only anime that made me cry fr
This video is sooo well put together. I love videos like these that explore the music and colour symbolism in anime
DID I JUST CRIED WATCHING THIS DOCUMENTATION? No I dOntT....
My initial impression was that this is what music sounds like to a deaf person.
Fun fact, the very specific/special music in this anime is able to be heard by some dead people. Obviously not full dead but those of partial deafness from what I've heard throughout conversations have been able to clearly hear the music, something that's most unusual for them
Oscars: hm… no, boss baby is still better than this Japanese cartoon
Only just found this channel and video, but I wanted to add that BCS is full of frame-in-frame moments that are great at telling us when a character is "boxed in." Trapped by their circumstances, or only seeing one small angle of things. The intent behind this show's camera work is something all new and aspiring filmmakers should study.
Webbster. He he.
Chainsaw man is in good hands. Can't wait!!
What does csm have anything to do with this, it's not even the same company
@@dragonmaster3030 the composer my man Kensuke ushio is the same dude who's composing for CSM too Well, he did do a pretty good job
@@bananaWhiskers29 well, that's quite a tonal change from something like lit to anything csm

When I watch Titans (cough cough) eating the humans I feel disturb. More disturb than watching a boring corny cliche horror movie. Not only this anime is part of action but it's also really fits on the Horror genre category
