Soil Works LLC accelerates soil health with the use of innovative agricultural products designed to eliminate soil compaction and inoculate the soil microbiome. We service organic, transitional, and conventional agricultural industries. Our goal is to increase the quality of food being produced. We aim to increase the nutrient density of your crop by correcting the cause of soil health problems rather than reacting to symptoms. With a well established aerobic zone you are able to capture ALL of the positive ecosystem services provided by soil that works including: improved water use efficiency, increased soil mineralization, reduced input costs, and a more resilient agro-ecosystem. Our channel is designed to educate the FARMER with real world boots in the dirt experience. The Soil Works channel should be your first step towards regenerative farming and increased crop quality.
Soil Solutions Series | Ep. 05 | Dead Zones in Soil #soilhealth #regenerativeagriculture
Struggling with soil that just won’t grow anything? You may have a high EC (electrical conductivity) or “dead zone” caused by excess sodium and salt. Glen Rabenberg and Dr. Tom Dykstra show how to use an EC meter to measure soil conductivity and explain the levels at which plants start to suffer. They also introduce calcium as a solution to neutralize high salts and restore your soil’s health. This video is packed with practical tips on how to tackle tough saline and sodic soils, from identifying the problem to fixing it for better crop yields.

มุมมอง 9Kหลายเดือนก่อน
Soil health expert Glen Rabenberg and Dr. Tom Dykstra dive deep into the role of electrical conductivity (EC) in understanding and enhancing soil and plant health. In this conversation, they discuss how the EC meter acts as a tool to measure the “heartbeat” of the soil, offering insights into the biological activity that drives plant growth. Learn about the optimal EC ranges for different stage...

So weeds don't grow in healthy soil? Hahha, yeah right.
do not go pouring sugar on your soil. it gives a boost but there has to be food for microbes to eat.
Bobby Kennedy hire this guy.
President Donald Trump should hire you.
But Brawndo has what plants crave! It’s got electrolytes!
One ear per plant? WTH? I'm pushing 60, but I remember as a kid always having three, four, sometimes even five per plant in our garden.
It would have been nice if you had mentioned who gave you this great device!
That explains suger in the food
ok
SUGAR - CHEMICAL
In the 50's ,60's, and 70's i dont temember any of there weeds on my fathers fields.
This is a mind reading device.
We have one, works great. 308 euro with taxes, so around 250 without taxes
Whats the price?
Why do you have to request a quote, the price should be up there No question asked.
If Carbon is 47%, and Nitrogen is 3%, based on Glen's Plant Pathology, then that is a C:N Ratio of 15.6667.
Soil problem indicator species like dandelions! Great information
I like Dr. Dykstra. He doesn't bug me and I'm drawn to his presentation like a magnet to steel. Must be his area of expertise.
garum-- soon to be Worcestershire sauce-
It is not correct to say that the "p" in pH stands for "potential".
Here is where No Till needs to pay attention: The Soil must be able to breathe. How much you can open it without Erosion is the key. No one plan fits everywhere. The No Till experiment has reached it's conclusion on my farm. Will I deep till? ONLY AS NEEDED. I have a horrible compaction zone down to 18 inches in many places. Trying to decide if Ripping is the answer or a deep Chisel plowing of say 10". No more GMO, no more Microbe killing chemicals.
It’s probably because the hay had thistles in it..
I wondered for years how certain plants can grow right by the beach on the dunes and stuff...I was always told salt and salt water will kill any plant... yet there's grasses and plants on the beach the birds nest in and etc.
What happens to the 40,000 lbs of stuff you don't use?
i have foxtail and mustard, add salt????
Thank you very much that was very useful information.
Plants can take up sugar as well to grow
Botany is so interesting 🤔 Photosynthesis is astounding.
BS...
👍
u use the word salt but when dealing with chem salt can be an one of# of compounds Every Metal has its salt so which metal are u talking of here or jus some in general
Why is a free TH-cam video giving me a million dollar education and the universities are charging us to just add chemicals? Money. Just like medical care for humans.
The problem with sugar and molasses is that it creates a bloom of New microbiology but then they crash back to regular levels once the sugar is gone and they don't stay around.
this field looks like it could use more brawndo, or maybe they used too much idk?
Excess sugar in the soil or taken into the leaf can also help control Nematodes in the plant roots.
So are you using calcium as pH correction or as a floculant.calcium is an important element as far as the up take of essential nutrients and microrganisms being able to convert them .
This was interesting until I saw the regenerativefarming hashtag and I realized it was quackery.
Good vibes. 9/10 ... those legs are so distracting.
Look after the soil people!
Thank you so much!! This is my problem. Love you both!!!!
Farmers make the world go around and get no credit or fair wages.
I need help. I have a field of bindweed. Have been using no till to prevent breaking it up and making more plants. Obviously the soil is compacted. What would one do in this case?
My dad didn't want the farm and sold it. Broke my heart.
Thank you for this helpful video! I have ph over 8. I have struggled with lowering it. Will get the green manure bedding from the chickens and molasses asap! Thank you again.
How about aphids? I thought they love sugar?
This works because you create a temporary flush of activity. And when the energy sources dwindle, the new bacteria die and their bodies become humus and humus has been known forever to increase the E.C. of your soil.
Is This the action of sugar kelp fertilizer? I make it and wonder why it works do well in h20 uptake
Thank you for sharing such valuable information
Fruit bearing trees do this on their own… I am not educated in herbology or microbiology but this one’s pretty obvious.
