Forgotten Gold Mines of the Coffs Coast (Fossicking Adventure)
In this video, I embark on an off-road adventure through the bush tracks of Nana Glen, exploring old mine sites in the Lowanna and Ulong area. Armed with a metal detector and a rough map, I am searching for remnants of historical mining activity. The journey takes me up through steep, rugged terrain to Cold Water Creek Road and Bushman’s Range Road, where I discover a couple of old mine sites. Along the way, I find various pieces of quartz and a few relics, including an old metal spike and a bullet casing, sparking excitement for potential gold specimens. The video captures the thrill of the hunt and the beauty of the natural surroundings, for those interested in bush adventures and historical exploration.
Thanks for watching I hope you enjoy the adventure as much as I did.

    I lived in lowanna for over 20yrs and between logging , exploring and trailbike riding ive covered quite a bit of ground around the local area , the first mine was an adit , it was directly below the quarry but the entrance has filled with all the runoff from the quarry and you cant get inside anymore , the second site has a whole lot more workings down further with massive amounts of quartz laying on the ground , theres some really large and interesting quartz reefs in the sides of the mineshafts as well 😃

    Hi guys thanks for the video will this affect how the Carvan tows now that there is more air passing under it I would really appreciate your thoughts if it affected its stability

    • @TheBeatenTrak
      @TheBeatenTrak 28 วันที่ผ่านมา

      Sorry for the slow reply. There's been no difference in the way the caravan tows whatsoever. The caravan has been out on numerous trips including trips to Birdsville, Lightening Ridge, North QLD and plenty of weekenders in the 1-3 hour range from where it's based here on the Coffs Coast. Floydie who owns it has had his Hilux lifted and suspension upgraded to match plus he's had experts run it over the scales to get the weight distribution right and she's all good. Tows beautifully.

The fridge will be the only one running non stop (while travelling around). The fridge is 240v 50Hz 0.73A 106W. How do I work out what size inverter and battery do I need?

    No concerns for cracking your canopy or breaking your racks by fixing the awning to both the canopy and the roof of the cab? Just read a fair few things saying it can damage one or both if you go over undulations and the canopy flexes too much.

      @TheBeatenTrak 2 หลายเดือนก่อน

      Interesting point, I hadn’t heard happening before. Not sure how you could attach otherwise due to the length. I’ve done a fair bit of travelling in it so far including Birdsville and back and haven’t had an issues so far. I’ll keep an eye on it. Thanks ✌🏻

      @@TheBeatenTrak i had my rhino batwing (2.45m and 22kg) mounted the same as you have on my old Hi-ride (2wd Dmax). However once I bought a 4wd I mounted it to the roof platform only, it hangs over the rear of the rack at absolute recommended maximum but also falls short of the rear of the canopy by about 200-300mm. It’s not ideal and am currently searching for an alternative mounting solution before I go and buy a heavier freestanding awning.

Some fantastic family memories made up there. Our boys learnt to swim there. I would park the old Holden kings wood and she wouldn’t move for a week while we enjoyed natures playground
