LightWELD 1500 - FANUC CRX Wire Welding Bronze weldment
This is a weld we did today welding a bronze threaded rod to bronze plate with silicon bronze wire. We used the basic LightWELD 1500 for the weld and programmed with the LightBOT AP designed for use with the Fanuc CRX timeline programming system. This uses the new "no divot" at the end of weld technology we recently developed for wire welding with IPG Photonics LightWELD systems. Welding speed is 45/cm minute and wire speed is 100 cm/minute. User preset was developed with the IPG user interface that runs directly on the Fanuc tablet.

😯 I was just programming a FANUC welding robot to weld a precision bearing's ID to its mounting bracket not long ago. Heat input is an issue. This might be a good option.

Hi I have a question Does this model have material cutting function? If so, what is the maximum thickness of the material that can be cut in mm?
I've seen laser machine come in different wattage. does that indicate the thickness of the metal the machine can weld?

Is the quick spot compatible on all robot models?
Yes the Quick Spot can be put on any Fanuc CRX robot as well as other robots. We are using the 10iA, 10iAL, and 25iA with the LightWELD laser welders

How are you able to get the Fanuc CRX to comunicate to the positioner? I'm currently looking into getting a positioner for our cobot. I appreciate any help or feedback!!!
We use one of the i/o ports on the CRX and added a relay to this which is connected to the foot pedal switch on the rotary. We turn on and turn off the rotary thru this relay. We time the laser on time to one rotation of the rotary. When the beam stops the rotary stops.

Looks like a great time to start a second career by investing in a lightwelder. Why would you use anything less now that this industry has opened. I'm thinking stainless sanitary welding at process plants. Is there a reason to use nitrogen in the piping with this system?

Great video! I own a XC model and was wondering how can I get the modulation with the wire welding on the XC model.
Its a user preset. Once you set up a user preset with the modulation it can be recalled anytime. If you contact us we can give you the settings needed. Easiest way to access the IPG User interface is thru the LightMOTE wireless tablet system we have.

im expert in laser welders. whole settings should be ruled with profile ( like adjusting gas pressure, power ,frequency, wobble width wobble speed, wirespeed) all from saved profiles. using many different setting to adjust is stupid idea, ipg don't even try to solve this issue,
Give it max ten years and laser will replace everything given the welding environment allows.

Actually it was videoed on 5-26-23 with a zoom camera and headset. The welder is out of this world however.
Looks like to make 3 welds it takes 15 minutes. It is not for mass production. It is Ok for garage fix
It’s much faster than any other weld method. It probably took a while because he is demonstrating.

Yes the ramp down time of the laser beam can be adjusted, as well as the end point of the weld. In addition the current LightBOT SW has added changing welding conditions on the fly, so a different condition can also be specified anywhere along the robot path.
