Thinning Peach Trees
My peach trees have so much fruit the branches are in danger of breaking.
In this video, I will explain my thoughts on thinning some of the peaches to protect the tree and my late spring/early summer peach harvest.

How To Grow Bluebonnets

This video explains the process for growing bluebonnets at home. Here in central Texas we face many challenges, but nothing grows as easily as the native Bluebonnet. These beautiful flowers take a year or two to grow, but it is well worth the wait. If you want to grow your own personal bluebonnet meadow, get started here. Recently I've done an interview about growing these wildflowers at home w...

French Drain 16 Months Post-Install Update: Drought and Clay Soil Fissures in Central Texas
มุมมอง 6K7 หลายเดือนก่อน
It has been 16 months since I installed my backyard French Drain. This was a really fun project to work on, and really helpful for our yard. Since the installation, the standing water in my backyard has disappeared and the misquotes have gone with it. Now that its been nearly a year and a half, I decided to make an update showing the post-drought season's impact on the French Drain. As the vide...

why dont you thin all fruit off your tree until your tree grows some more structurally?
I agree with you. For first 2 years, I remove all the fruits and let the tree establish, using that time to form tree structure. This would avoid all the tie downs he's using on the fence. Doing it that way doesnt allow tree to strengthen the roots. It needs to sway. All I ever do is use green stretch tape to tie down branches to lower the angle. But still that tree is loaded and can be harvested some. And later he can hard prune it and use some notching to form the tree branches and overall tree form.
When is the best time to plant down some peach trees? I live just south of Manor, also a sr. software engr and would also like peaches in my backyard 😅
Thank you for making this video! I have a dwarf white peach tree that has SO many peaches on it! None are anywhere being ripe, but I’m going to do some serious thinning.
🎉🎉🎉🎉🎉
Try a red haven peach. They are extremely hardy and one of the most sweet peaches on earth.
I'm having a similar issue but mine is storm-winds. I almost want to make some Texas-size fruit-tree cages out of electrical-conduit. I was even thinking of trying out those clamp style spot-welder that are used to make tomato-cages, they also can weld cage-wire or metal-screen to thick-metal so quite creative possibilities. To keep the birds away you might be able to just play some hawk or eagle noises in the mornings & evenings, or you might need some rodent-hotels full of blood-thinning breakfast & dinner.
I love seeing your garden. Thank you for sharing.
Worst idea ever
Uter bewilderment no thunder
if you close the outlet with a cap, water is captured in the pipe, no? i don't see no holes or gaps from that cap where water suppose to come out. What am i not seeing or missing?
It's a pop-up cap. So the when the water fills up the pipe, the pressure of it pushes the cap up, thus letting the water out. It pops back down if there isn't enough pressure from the water, so you don't have to constantly worry about mosquitoes and the like
Excellent. I just did the same recently, as I am French and had the same issue in the garden.. good to know it works in UK too :)
Hello, can this pipe go close to the house foundation?
That is not advisable, your drainage should drain away/downhill from your house
Hi.. can we put this plant in ground in Austin? .. does it survive the austin’s winter
What do you do in winter to protect plant . Please share the procedure
My new Brown Turkey Fig tree wouldn`t start to grow until late July last year because it was so dry and hot in Louisiana. I had to put cardboard and thick layers of grass clippings in an 8 ft diameter circle around it, add more soil, fertilize and water it like crazy. I planted a cutting from it this year and four Celeste trees. I`ve added lots of grass clippings around them, bone meal, and organic fertilizer with soil microbes. Most are doing very well so far compared to last year. I didn`t dig large holes to plant them in the poor red soil so they can anchor themselves very well against high winds and I`ve heard this may make them produce fruit faster. We`ll get another hurricane soon enough and last year my corn was flattened in a bad storm in June. I saw a wild bunny and gave her a corn stalk and she nibbled on it for three days. She thought I was after her but realized I was trying to give away food and came back. Ha!
How can o find it and everything for the installations and staff
You can have a load of dirt, mulch or stones dropped in your driveway. Your homeowners association won’t do anything about that, unless they are blue state fascists.
That's amazing well done mate. Where the ditch out front is, are you allowed to build a path leading to the street from your gate and install another french drain alongside it?
So beautiful 😊stay connected ❤
nice work!!!!
Del Sol Loma Linda Tx, I have the same soil here..ugh. Trying to grow mammoth sunflowers this year. Thanks for sharing this.🎉
I never knew Roman had a side gig doing home improvent TH-cam when he's not on Regular Car Reviews.
dude i live over in manor, can i buy a sapling or something lol
Surprised you chose not to thin some of the peaches
Considering how busy you’ve been with work, travel, seminary and being a good dad, I’m impressed that there’s as much growing in our backyard as there is!
Looks awesome!
I’d forgotten about the peach tree branch growth with the “green wood” turning into “red wood” and then a branch. Very interesting
Shout-out to a fellow Manorian!
This was a wonderful video. Thank you! I am really appreciative of your help.
The way you were just watering all the leaves?? DO NOT OVERHEAD WATER unless it’s very early in the morning or late afternoon so your plants don’t get soil borne diseases! Always try to water at soil level, especially in Texas!!
Just throw that seed under the soil and it will still grow
Im down near new braunfels and glad i found this
5 minutes before he explains about the French drain... Thank me later
I actually liked it with the rocks showing.
Your trees are planted too low in the ground. They grow slower that way. Plant them higher and they'll grow faster and have fewer over watering issues
Love this!! We moved to TX in 2022 and can't wait to buy (in non HOA) and then I'll plant bluebonnets in our yard! Someone else in our HOA 'hood has them in their front yard and looks great!
Make some easy hoops with cheap painter's clear plastic and pvc over your raised bed. Your plants will be nice and warm all winter, sometimes too warm. And you don't have to really worry about taking it off or on. My winter garden was flourishing even in this year's Central Texas freeze.
I think I live near there
Woah,awsome👍💯🌩️🌩️🌩️🌩️🌩️
bro's hand shakin
Lolz
Now just make sure to keep your soil covered with hay or arborist wood chips and youre golden
I just use my fingers and rip it open when its fresh out of the fruit it tends to open 7/10 times.
Chinese Engineering right there.
Every year I have sweet potatos in my flower pots.. we never eat them but they are always there!!!
2:04 You can see that a lot of the water coming to you is the guy next to you doesn't have a gutter on, so its just dumping water at the fence line.
Just watching the roofs of neighbors, none of them had any gutters?
I don’t know what am doing wrong but when my mango tree gets up to this size 0:01 it’s leaves go brown and then dies off ???
