I'm afraid this isn't great advice for beginners in terms of how you'd use the qualifier professionally. When you have 100s of shots to get through in your workday, this approach is not the way to go. Both of the examples you showed could have been easily tackled with Color Warper or HSL curves. Your creative look should work for your skin tones. If you have to qualify your skin to make it look realistic and then you do your split in an outside node, that's just a huge no no.

Wow yeah i saw a video telling me not to use the temperature to white balance and i thought that was ok as that's what the pippet does so it was ok turns out its most definitely not. Thanks for this i will definitely be using my bars from now on.

With all due respect, this is not a shot that you want to white balance. You don't want to take a heavily stylized shot like this or the green shots in joker and try to balance them.

Have you seen the TH-cam channels for Darren Mostyn and Cullen Kelly? Two professional colourists that will help you out.

Don't fall into Qazi's trap. Rec 709 is not really a look, its a colour space to work in.
