Use THIS to Stop Leash Pulling (not what you think!)
I had a dog that had a collapsed trachea from being on a leash without me ever tugging on it. I never needed to. I lost my shadow from just gently being on a leash that went around her neck. I would never use one again and opt for a vest, but I really would never snap it or tug hard. Just sharing what happened to my shadow.
What can I do if my dog pulls no matter what
The only reasons my dog uses a harness is because hers lights up so people can see her at night (she's small and black) And, she's small and easy enough that I don't have to worry about her pulling me to get to other dogs, she couldn't care less about meeting anybody, she's just out to have some fun Of course, I do use a good collar for my other dog, he's a high energy pup and I have no doubts that he could pull me if he really tried, luckily he's in training and actively learning to pay more attention to me instead of other dogs, and he's a good boy
You have an e collar you recommend in Canada
Okay but like how do you properly socialize your dog??
He probably thought he saw his mother. 😢
I have two dogs that fight
Hi ! What will be your solution to calm the pupy ?
I prefer Cesar Millans method
The dog is ready to get babies
wait. about the harness. my dog uses a harness because it's a pug and it prevents the eye from popping out. i want to hear the cons, but i dont get what you mean? like what's the correlation?
Dog harnesses were built to let dogs pull heavy loads easily (aka sled dogs) so it let's your pug do the same (pull you) but if a harness is the way you can keep your dog safe use it!
I don’t understand why he calls that learning from her experience. He is definitely giving her instructions. And I love that he’s showing that the dog can be trained.
“You have to turn around and walk the other way” Dog: my feet are now 8,0000lbs of rocks
If your dog can't do that, you should not have one. That's basic lol
A lotta people don't care for training dogs Chihuahua owners especially
BS just showing off in IG doesn’t impress me.
I did not want to see that...
Swipe up then buddy, or maybe just, yknow, don’t look at it.
@NebulaULTRA true still unexpected lol but the video is quite informative so I guess that's cool
💄🚀❗
Brother 💀💀
That dog got to put it away 🚀
i have a reactive dog who has anxiety and pack leader mentality. he’s 6 but is very smart so thank you for this video i’ll be trying this out with him !
Lil bro is bricked rn 💄
Impressive can this be done with other animals?
Y'all are freaky for looking at a dog like that. The first 4 comments are litterally commenting about its "protrusion"
Uh, I’d do the same if a human male had an obvious one on screen. It’s weird to not just wait a few minutes for that to not be the case.
No one’s thinking about in any sort of way weirdo. It’s there, people pointed it out, deal with it
@eagleslove100 you're right, I apologize for assuming that. I was just disturbed to encounter this first time. It just kind of ruined it for me since I didn't even notice until it was told through the comments. I am not trying to be a Karen or weirdo. It felt like it overshadows the short's initial purpose. Since only the majority of the comments talk about it instead of the topic that was supposed to be established.

My border collie Anna can do that, she walks very close too, the only dog I trust off leash
Ummmmm😅
Whats wrong?
his dingle is out
Lol
Did you train with Garrett wing from American Standard Dog Training?
I'm your 531st like
Thanks man 👍
The subtitling of made up words is killing me bro
When would you use your E collars. They are obviously well trained, not that I am against them. I just don't understand how and when they would be used I kinda understand that they are kinda like an invisible slip collar. When and why would you have to use them in any situation that keeps them safe. Thank you 🙏
because if they think there is a threat they may not listen to commands
This reminds me of in Minecraft you can sit ur dog down and they won't follow you 😅
Should we be teaching the dogs sit and down with an understood stay command or teach stay separately all together?
That's technically everyone's own opinion. A lot of trainers don't use the stay command because the original command is obligated until it's released. If the dog has to sit, it sits until you call him, get back to him, or do anything else to release the sit. Personally I don't get the command stay but as I said, that's a personal opinion and everyone does it differently 😊
How??????
Omg that's NOT TRAINING that's ABUSE. Shocked by how many are watching this. What a bully - hope someone walks you on a pronged collar.
I think one thing this trainer forgot to mention is that the e-collar should always be paired up with also teaching the dog when it's ok to go through the door. The door can become a place that the dog fears if it only knows the scary pressure when it goes through without permission. Engage in teaching the dog the right ques to let the dog know when it is appropriate to go through the door. E-collar is OK to use, but not as a punishment.
I never put the top lid down, but I'll put the seat down. I'm meeting her halfway. I never expect her to put the seat up for me 🤷🏽♂️
That German shepherds joints on the back legs are fucked up. I've seen some fucked up back legs on shepherds but holy shit
your first problem was thinking that paying a dog with pets is positive reinforcement. It is a postive punisher. A dog doesn't want pets when working. balanced training is the easy way out at the expense of the dog's fear and anxiety.
I have yet to find a prong collar for a 5 pound teacup Chihuahua, does anyone have a source?
I don’t even want to know what a prong collar is….
okay? @@fraublucher1186
some blue hair female is crying about freee dom rn
Hello! I hope this message finds you well. I have a 8 month old miniature schnauzer who has been extremely reactive since we got him at 8 weeks. We have tried everything recommended and i’m out of ideas. I have watched many of your videos but was hoping for some direct advice! Max plays well with other dogs and people but when they first come over he will bark and growl at them excessively for 10-20 minutes and then calm down and be all over them. He also is awful on a leash. He pulls everywhere and will bark and growl and lunge at any dog we see, although if he gets close and sniffs them he’s friendly. His reactivity has made it really hard to take him to the groomers or vets because they see him acting reactive and take it as aggression and i really need advice . This is my first reactive dog so i’m STRUGGLING.
i have also messaged you on tiktok and instagram!
Only dog owners with unreliable plumbing get the lid down habbit 😔
If you had any actual training you would know why that’s wrong
Please elaborate I want to learn more
@ the academy for dog trainers has a evidence based curriculum that was developed from operative training, the use of adverse training techniques like this fool Is pushing can have serious negative impacts on a pets ability to learn and perform commands. The pet professional guild will have more information and programs like dog guru will give far better advice and education than this fool… these days people think they can be anything because of TH-cam which isn’t wrong but it’s a bad approach especially to sciences.
@richardramirez7311 (not here to fight) but a lot of successful dog trainers use BALANCED approach and have high success and proven methods in the most demanding for example.. mike ritland, owner of trikos and team dog over 20 yrs canine experience and trained many dogs for seals and naval canine warfare(not to mention a former seal himself).. garret wing from American standard dog training.. police and k9 handler out in south Florida who trained many many dogs for police academy and still has seminars for military and local police.. tom davis another big one with over a decade.. justin rigney.. this are just a few..to be honest I believe that Ethan spends most of his time on the positive side on the 4 quadrant of operant conditioning
He clearly knows how to train a dog though. You’re just some smart ass on TH-cam comments. Your opinion means absolutely nothing.
How do you decrease the value of said other item?
Im not a professionell trainer but in my opinion the best way To Decrease the value of a squirrel is let the dog know there will be a punishment If they run after something yell when they start run after something so they know that running off was the bad action, and put them on a leash for a while so they know bad action had bad consequences I don’t yell at them as they come back because they may be reluctant to return next time if i do i want them to know running off is bad but returning is ok or good
We taught my dog paw first, and she wasn't pawing over and over.
Taught my first fluffy cat paw when he was 13 years old. Did not know how quickly he'd learn it.
If you're a weirdo control freak, spare the animal and don't get a dog. Let the dog be excited to go outside, for fuck's sake
I absolutely agree with "threshold" training. A benefit of the front door threshold is also I've found that a relaxed, allowed exit translates to a calmer walk also 😊 I also consider crosswalks as thresholds (as you've also indicated in a previous short). No entering crosswalks until permitted. I find it very beneficial 🤘
What collar would you recommend for a husky? We want to train threshold and recall
He uses ecollar technologies.. most dog trainers that i see here use and recommend it.. another big one and it's the one I use is dogtra..I use the tom davis 280c.. very user friendly
I have a husky and use the mini educator, it’s so good and has made me able to take my husky off leash on hikes and not worry about a thing. I don’t even have to use the shock anymore as he started to respond to the vibration feature. Highly recommend
