Yes you have to have a high pitch voice almost like you are going through puberty again and when its something you don't want your dog to do you give a loud deep stern NO! with correction.

His goofy, floppy front paws are the cutest thing ever.
I'm watching to learn how I can start better understanding my dog and hopefully correct some of his behavioral issues. Constant barking at people, animals, and noises/pulling on leash/chasing bunnies, squirrels, other dogs (playfully)/hyper-fixation on scents and anything else in the current environment.
He's older, I think between 9 and 11 years old. I adopted him a few years back from my sister's in-laws who got him from their friend. Neither of his previous owners treated him well or trained him in the slightest. They'd lock him in a crate a lot, yell at him, and hit him (not hard but spanking his butt, flicking his nose, etc) when he was doing something wrong.
I have attempted to work with him in the past but never saw any major success with it. Probably from doing it incorrectly. With him being older, I don't expect perfect behavior but it would be nice to not be embarrassed when walking him because he's pulling and barking at everyone/everything. Hopefully being consistent and starting with the most basic training tasks will help net some success and at least get him to a point that we can go for walks and be around other dogs without him flying off the rails with anxiety/excitement and me having no control over it.
I know a lot of it comes down to me and how I control/reward him, so the training starts with me. I'm hopeful that by changing my way of approaching training, correcting my technique, and learning how to provide more fulfillment for him, I'll be able to take him more places with the time I still have with him.
Thanks for sharing your skills with the world. I'm glad I found your page!

I have 2 6 week old puppies.I've had them for less than a week at home. Im struggling to potty train them. I havent taken them outside since they aren't vaccinated. Should I work on crate training? what should be my next steps? also the biting between each other is another concern. tips?

I would love to do this with my puppy (golden retriever). I am afraid to take her out on walks because she isn’t completely vaccinated. What precautions do you take to prevent disease with a puppy going on walks?

Dont take advice from someone that puts prong collars on puppies, this guy has no training and if you look at the comments everyone that has some experience are saying that hes doing it wrong but he just wont listen. He snatches the leash alot that can create a sustainable injury to the dogs neck. He just owns dogs to make money of them by his self taught credentials.

My dog obeys well and walks well when he is on a leash, but if I let him loose he no longer obeys me. What to do?

Why can't you teach him how to do all of this on a martingale or a slip lead? Why does your barely 4 month dog need a plastic prong?
I also have a young german shepherd, nearly 5 months. working line. He is doing fantastic in his loose leash walking, his engagement is superb. All I've used is a slip lead & a flat collar. We do lots of engagement building, lots of relationship building, he knows all good things come from me.
I'm not against prongs by any means but if you have this dog from such a young age, why does it absolutely need a prong collar when so many other tools exist?

Are you seriously having your 3 month old puppy on a prong collar? You should not call yourself dog trainer or animal lover. There is a reason they are forbidden by law for animal cruelty in most European countries. If you really understand and love your dog you should be able to train him/her without the use of force and pain! This is just pathetic and poor!

Thx that’s exactly what I wrote in the comments. torture collars like that should be illegal everywhere. I’m glad that it’s illegal here in Austria. Unbelievable that he calls himself a dog trainer. disgusting.
