    I'm late to the party but by now you might have sorted you double exposure problems out. If so maybe you or another reader might like to know that I used these cameras in the 1980s professionally and bought all the lenses except the 250mm. So what I hear you ask, so this. I found that the 105mm lens for this system is absolutely incredibly good. Beautiful for female and child portraiture. If you don't got one, get one. All the best Jake.

    my wife, in tthe 70th she was my girl friend, had a FTb brand new in the 70th, I was allowed to use the camera, in 1990 we buyed some more glasses, in 2021 we reactivate the camera and buyed 4 more, in germany you got a FTb with glasses for 20-30 € . I really love this camera. But analog films, especially color, are extremely high priced. So I added a digital camera to my list but still use the FTB. Digital is medium format and has a 55mm Objectiv = 45mm in fullformat (35mm). I mostly use the FTb for monochrome. A good Color-36 is over 30 € :-( But this smooth and the shutter click on the FTB is what I love most. And, the FTb is so robust, I think if film and interest people exist in 100 years the camera will, maybe, need a overhaul but then it is ready for the next 100 years. ;-) a tip, sure you are all know this, but I shut every week all the FTbs, without film in all shutter speed options, this held the mechanic alive. After that I open the Camera. The flilm counter goes to s, so I know in which camera is a film and which camera is not loaded...

    Be aware that a red filter renders both blue sky and green leaves darker, it's probably not a problem with the FG's metering in the landscape examples you showed, just the greens being rendered very dark by the red filter. I normally add exposure compensation or point my camera at greenery and then lock the exposure on my Nikon (or use manual mode) and recompose to expose for lighter shadows/greenery when using an orange filter. In general you will find that red filters on landscapes with greenery are hard to exposure correctly as you need meter for the greenery in shadows to get any shadow detail but that can then overexpose the sky. It's easier using an orange filter, but even that might resulted in underexposed areas that are green. It's a whole lot easier to use a yellow filter for landscapes as these filters also separate the greens tones reasonably well and provide a reasonable darkening of the sky and good separation of the clouds. Red filters are great in cities as they often lighten red brick buildings and darken the skys dramatically as you have shown without losing too much detail in the shadows.

    Nice video man, some comments, they are my personal opinion as an amateur photographer so take them for what you think they are worth. Pumpkin shot, saw it in your prior video, great shot, vibrant colours, nice balance all together, does the phoenix 200 proud. I like IR images but I prefer landscapes with threes and flowers turn into other colours, with persons I dislike the eyes and that makes even a great image a bit disturbing for me. Can't really be bothered by cats images, more of a dog guy. Love the photo of NY with the block, nice layers, beautiful film like color with the blue water but man, did you go on and on about describing that shot , way to much buddy. 13:17 Great shot nice colours , well balanced, basically doesn't need any explanation than "I am proud of this shot". Also the other ones of the girl, love the legs up, nice balance. For me the last one with the green jacked didn't need the bewbs. Lets make one thing clear, I like bewbs but she doesn't need it in that particular shot, prefer the right one cause the way she turned her head a bit the lighting of her left side looks better (IMO) Man you are doing a great job with your photos and your channel, simple and honest, no showers of superlatives or other blah blah to lift up mediocre photos. You have a great hit rate and we all have days of boredom and fireworks so hang in and follow your heart

    Thank you for taking the time and trouble to make this video. I think you have identified some really important issues that I am working through myself. My own experience is that art is a by-product. It is a judgement someone else makes. Setting out to make 'art' is often doomed to failure, because it is normally mimetic. Art that looks like what art should look. The best lies are those that are closest to the truth. I have always liked a quote from Ed Ruscha 'I am not trying to communicate an idea, I am trying to explore a subject.'

    • @anselliott7440
      @anselliott7440 12 วันที่ผ่านมา

      Likely your vignetting is from the 65mm lens rather than the viewfinder. Also the frensel has to be flipped over(see manual) if you use the 55 or 65 lenses. Maybe this wasn't done. Wide lenses tend to get a bit gloomy on the edges in larger camera formats. Eg: 4 x 5'" require some exposure wrangling to compensate for this for wider lenses. The 105mm 'DS' lens on my C330 also comes with a separate aperture ring on the 'viewing lens' - used to determine/preview depth-of-field. So stopping this down without checking makes the view dim. I didn't see this feature on your 65mm lens though. Try flipping the Frensel.

IMO you have to shoot more with this film a while and then get a better sense of what to be expected. About the color cast, you do better to ignore it in LR and bring the results of your editing into PS and handle the color cast there. There are good YT videos about handling color cast in PS. Civil War was very entertaining, and as someone who started out with my dad’s old Nikon, I got why the aspiring photographer would use it. Damn thing is a tank. But there is no way she was developing decent pictures in the field. The one scene they were developing rolls in the stadium and it took me right out of the moment, and there was no way she could get shots off as fast as they did with that Nikon. Realism aside, it is a good film. Probably wouldn’t irk me so much if they weren’t going for realism. Probably my favourite film with photography as a central component was John Waters’ Pecker. You mentioned it in a past video so I know you’ll get to it. Just damn funny and weirdly heartwarming in that celebrate your freak way Waters has. Years ago I watched a doc on Nobuyoshi Araki called Tokyo Noise. Another one for your list is Love Exposure, about an Up-Skirt photographer taking down a cult. Weird weird film. Thanks for the great recommendations! Going to watch The Fall now!

      @@thirtyfiveeyes The Read Window. One of the neat things is all the little bits of action going on that technically don't have anything to do with the plot but are interesting little things nonetheless like if you look through that passageway under the building across the common area there, there's a water truck spraying the street down and kids chasing that to have the water spray them to cool down a bit in the summer heat. Those little things make Hitchcock movies. BTW, that scene in America Graffiti where Kurt (played by Richard Dreyfuss) was sneaking up on that police car, the director had some very Hitchcockian touches in that scene.
