GL1200 side reflectors turned in to lights
มุมมอง 1.7K6 ปีที่แล้ว
GL1200 side reflector turned into side light or brake light. This is a short video showing how I turned my GL1200 side reflectors in to lights. I created the video after reading how someone else had done it. The video shows me using candle wax to seal two holes, I later redid this with a hot glue gun as the wax didn't really take hold.

Carb installation on a 1984 GL1200 Goldwing Aspencade. This is the 3rd of 3 video's I done about the carbs. The first was the removal from the bike , the second was the stripping and cleaning and this one is the reinstalling onto the bike.

Carb cleaning on a 1984 GL1200 Goldwing Aspencade. This is the second video of three, the first shows the removal of the carbs from the bike and the third shows the carbs being reinstalled onto the bike. What I didn't make clear in this video was the fact I cleaned every part of the cards, and ensure every hole etc was clear. The video makes it sound like I only cleaned the jets. Once back toge...
1984 GL1200 Goldwing Aspencade Carb Removal

Carb removal on a 1984 GL1200 Goldwing Aspencade. This was my first attempt and it was a lot easier than I expected. Hopefully this video will help somebody. I'm also intending on doing a video showing the stripping and cleaning of the carbs, and also a third video of replacing the carbs back on the bike.

That screw in the bottom of the bowl that you’re unsure what it was for. Is the bowl drain for when you want to drain the bowls of fuel

The starter has a, I think centrifugal, clutch. Its free spinning because its gotten a little sticky with sludge build up. Colder temps make it worse. Look up doing a treatment of marvel mystery oil in your engine oil.

PS don't pull the whole fork out unless you're going to change the springs leave the forks in only pull the bottom part off of the fork while it's on the motorcycle. There is an allen wrench screw up underneath the very front of the fork

The conclusion of the trilogy. Very informative, thanks. Now I just need to go out and do mine. I'm thinking one of the float valve screens is blocked, it'll start and idle on four cylinders, and even rev well, but once I start actually heading out it drops a cylinder and doesn't get it back until it idles for a while.

Great video, my 84 is cutting back as well, bowls have never been removed or cleaned, I think some trash has gotten in the main jet, but this isn't as bad as I assumed it to be, see my video on removing the engine to replace the stator, Again Great job and video.

Brilliant video ,hardest part for me was the oil pump sprocket has 4 pins that locate into the back of the basket. They were a tad tricky . also getting the fairing off what a pain in the arse.

Same problem with my 1985 gl 1200 been off the road just over four years ,replaced the coils,ht leads and plugs have come to the same conclusion. I used one of the infra red spot handheld thermometers on the exhaust pipes and found two were at lower temperatures, pulled the plugs and found they were sooted so obviously running too rich ,I have the manual but seeing someone doing the job and the tips are very helpful thanks for making the video and posting it

You don’t need a video, you need a genuine Honda shop manual that will tell you where the pilot screws are and also the entirety of the carb cleaning process.

Zero laptop connections required, no new bios downloaded and updated, no failure reports deleted, no softwares updated - 'the intention of a combustion engine is to burn fuel to make my vehicles move' - really a great job, well done! All three episodes a pleasure to watch, my compliments - thank you very much sir!
