NEVER POSTED THIS. NOT SURE IF TGE SHOE IS COMING BACK TO THE LINE BUR HERES THE LOWDOWN. I needed a new pair of skate shoes, so I went online to @laborskateshop7835 and bought a pair of Asics Aaron pro shoes. I was nervous of the thinner profile and sole, but I wanted to try one of the less expensive shoes in the Asics skateboarding line. I purchased the shoes here laborskateshop.com/products/...

I feel like a lot of the commenters are passive know nothing skateboarders, not people like us who have been shit talking since the 90's and like Quasi etc. Thanks for all you do fellas.
What a great show. Are you guys on any other streaming services? Also I was wondering why Powell gets so much hate from the younger generation? I just recently got back into skating with my son and while talking to him about the flight decks he turned his nose up and said he would not skate a Powell. Haha.
They have a lane, it’s just not with the modern street skater. Thieir shit is stuck in an ancient era, and didn’t do anything for the longest time to stay relevant. They are going the TH-cam route now, so they will hopefully pull some of that revive/ braille crowd.
These are very cool
if i have leg 28.8cm, size 11(28.5cm) will be good for me ? i love when the shoes fit snugly on my feet, If you took this pair of sneakers exactly under your foot, please tell me if they have a much smaller size, or they fit exactly size
I always feel the Japan is true to size I am a 9 and 9 fits perfectly. I could wear without laces because they have the tongue straps and not have an issue
s/o beltway and crushed skateshop! 🔥🎉
Vans making Carrolls in all the OG colorways would be the best news of 2025.
Sounds totally possible.
Yessir, fun weekend! thanks for the shout out.

Ipath isn't skater owned, btw.
Good to know. They do seem to have a better grasp on who to let run the program than some others
@@deadonarrival2882 yeah they are making some good moves...owner is a ...... As far as your commentary on "some others", you know who I mean, it seems like you guys may not realize that moving a footwear brand into a new era takes time, and time is linear, it doesn't happen overnight. Moves such as clipping dudes are just part of that, its not really crazy, it's like any business that wants to evolve. How are you going to change, unless you.....change. Anyway do you still have any of those 80 pairs of Lakai's I sold you back in 02?
I'm 33 but I still consider myself a "young lad" lol. Here's a hot take for you Mitch. Tell Terror of Planet X to turn Dylan Jeffers pro already instead of giving old heads like Vern Laird guest boards.
If it was my call it would have happened already.
Lolz thanks for including my muni rail comment. Glad it wasn’t too controversial, I see your point about Jah’s being the coolest looking regardless of level of difficulty. Honestly get stoked on any nbd clips at that spot. Keep up the good work fellas!
46:45 i do have to get my shit together hahaha. next 5boro vid ill definitely have some clips
funny that Zumiez and the Vans store are the closest places to Muni to buy a skateboard
I just watched the original video now. Some guest ideas of who to get on: Kevin Liedtke, Jake Todd, John Devine, Tim O'Connor, Andrea Bethke, Rick from Scumco
Oh, hell yeah...
Appreciate y’all keeping it real. 🔥
23:26 talking about funding board companies, basically it's Shane O'neill's huge paying Nike contract that injects the capital into April
Actually i have a question, whats going on with Koston? ive seen him riding anti-hero boards on ig and is now on Venture is he gonna be on a dlx board brand? Krooked makes sense or (another) new brand. This is the era of skater im curious about at this point. idc about how tech the new primitive kid is.
I wonder. Krooked would be a good fit but again nobody is looking to add salary
here for the old guys.=)
fun fact, i wanted to support Tyler Surrey so i bought a board directly from Sk8 Mafia, their distro shipped the board to me in US from SPAIN of all places!
Wow. That is interesting. Was the shipping astronomical? And how did you like the HLC wood?
$9.95 USD! the distro name is "Skate Menu", wood feels solid and not warped, haven't set either up yet but bought an 8.38" team model from them as well. That is my goldilocks size for street/transition skating.
Shout out Premier in Michigan
No for real, Premier is in my top 5 shops for the State of Michigan, and I often shop online services with them. They always include a sticker, they always ship in 1-3 days from purchase, and they include a packing slip in your box where they write a message of being grateful for supporting locally owned. I also heavily appreciate Olympia , in Ann Arbor on 4th street, I also heavily appreciate Brush Alley in Flint Michigan, now located on Saginaw street, lastly I’d like to mention Skaters Advocate, Modern Skate and Surf, Refuge, and Exodus. Plus is huge if your from the Farmington Hills. All are excellent.
Good to know Michigan has great shops. I did buy buy from premier a few times years ago and got the packing list with a note! And Olympia is owned by a dude from Long Island I’ve known forever.
Yea dudes there listen to the show. Respect to premier
@@deadonarrival2882 Chris redden is… was and has been a huge influence on my life. He was always upfront and honest, and evidently pointed directly in the direction of where I needed to be all along, and never the less I ended up where he said I should be and I’m grateful for everything he’s given me. From time in the shop, to conversations over ramen noodles with locals, to shop videos and a mini ramp. Everything I asked for, I ended up getting and again, I can’t thank him enough for that. Similarly, Thomas and Cheetah too have both played their own roles, and I’m appreciative of them as well. Never to mention Austin Williams. By the way I did just buy a Herbert Brown DOA board for my wall from them.
Damn steve, i was LEGIT about to right that comment about Joslin on Walhbergs shoe co
I only see joslin on Footprint shoes. I could see him caring a lot about impact support and skatability and no way that Walhberg shoe is functional enough for him.
Is FP still around?
@ yep, they sponsor Ryan Decenzo, Jaws, and Neen. You are revealing all the junk info I keep in my head.
it is your burden as someone who actually skates to only support shops, like a blood oath, no alternative, they need the support
Hahaaaaaa influencer status baybuhhhhh hahhaa love for life dudes can’t wait for more 🔊❤️🩹🔥🔋⛽️🔊
Regarding emerica and you asking why Leo is still on. Regardless of your taste, he is a SOTY and they need any juice they can get. He’s also very impressive to watch live and can actually do very hard ledge and manny tricks going mach ten. Not my usual taste but he is def skating at a worthy level
It actually makes sense to me. He has been on forever and still skates. I’d just figure he would cost too much. Maybe his shoe sales are highest and he actually has worth to the brand?
Good stuff guys!
that pair of etnies is officially retired, not even fit for grass cutting 😥 they served me well, and i still have another identical pair new in box.
full disclosure. i do often modify shoes as needed like adding cardboard or doubling insoles as needed. i got some screw mid vulcs, 2 pair for $46 total shipped, and they were kind of uncomfortable in stock form. really thin insoles and lasting board material so you could feel the ridges of the mold pattern on the topside of the vulc sole. i modify shoes anyway, and for the price i couldn't complain. if they were $75/ea i might have been a bit bummed, but ultimately an easy fix and not a big deal.
i've never really been brand loyal to the point that i would get offended on their behalf. it's much simpler - was i happy with the quality/performance of the product for the price i paid? if yes, and i continue to buy them, does it consistently meet or exceed expectations? i can share my positive experience to offer a counterpoint to your negative opinion, but it's not that deep. i've never been disappointed with a soletech product, not even once in 30 years. that said, the only es shoes i've ever had were og koston 1 in a few different colorways and they were sick. especially the navy/gum. mostly etnies, at least 7 pairs, and maybe 2 emericas in the brief window when etnies name went away like '97ish. i'm sure nostalgia plays a part, with the etnies pages in ccs '94 being so sick. scams in red, white, baby blue. screw mid. raps, mc raps, and several others. they could have only made those shoes forever and killed it in my opinion. they looked sick and skated well. consistently comfortable, durable, quality materials, fair price. i'm sure the ads and videos played a part, seeing tom penny, rodney mullen, sal barbier, and others wearing raps. it's a good-looking shoe, the precursor to accels, very similar paneling.
I’ve skated half cabs for the past few years, and I would def buy those Carroll vans. I’d be willing to pay like 20 or so more for em too
i love the comments episodes <3. i wasn't saying zumiez is my go-to for product, but sometimes i like to go in and look around. sometimes i buy something. when i have, it's been positive. i can almost always get a second sale deck for $20 with deck purchase. i'm frugal by nature and circumstance, so it's usually mail order direct from distributors or maybe like skate warehouse or something whenever i see a good deal. i'm in central/southern DE. i'll look into the places you've listed but tbh, i don't think i'll need any gear for years. you've seen how long i skate my shoes 😭 same with decks/gear, i'm not really a board breaker even for a bigger guy but i'll skate them until they're razortailed to nubs, or slid through a ply or more here or there.
Quality show gentlemen. You stay consistent in your beliefs. Much respect for shitting on those who need to be shit on.
😂
Those Rick clips you played. That spot is right down the street from my house in Pittsburgh. I’m not from here, moving soon, so not plugged into the scene really. But I recognized the spot as somewhere I had driven by while watching this shops video, place is called Radio. Still meaning to go in there lmao. Anyways I skated there a few months before that Lakai footage came out. It was rougher / harder to skate than it looked, and my knee was hurt, so I didn’t do much but was stoked to see Rick Howard skating it. I’m originally from rando town in the Midwest so the only other spot I have skated that pros have skated was a local school that Toy Machine team skated after a demo in like 98 - practically an urban legend. Has anyone suggested you review shop vids? I’d watch it. Start with that Radio one the Pittsburgh spots are crazy rough can’t believe kids skate them so we’ll.
I want to say Nick who ran scumco is part owner. Seems like an awesome shop
Have either of you guys or your friends heard about SubZero coming back? I saw a post on Instagram a while ago, but haven't heard anything since then. Also heard the Fairman's owner was going to reopen another shop, but no news there.
Yea it’s coming out through Sidewalk (jacuzzi and opera etc) as a legacy brand. Boards, apparel and I think a dvd of the OG video. Should be available in spring I think. But it’s not coming back as a shop
Thank you Steve and Mitch, appreciate the plug and support!
Your mini logo sales will triple now
@@deadonarrival2882 i really do like mini logo products, especially wheels and bushings. the best aftermarket bushing, hands down. i'd like to try one of their decks. i have before and liked it, but not recently.
The Beltway Temple Curve board is the only “recent” thing I currently have hanging on my wall today
I am listener from Beijing. Do you know Leo had a Vans deal that he didn't take. What do you think about DC and Vans. Do they sell good in skate shops?
Vans eh. Dc no
@@deadonarrival2882this answer is accurate. People in the Midwest are definitely willing to support Vans and DC, but sadly, more commonly I see my colleagues wearing a lot of ASICS right now, a lot of New Balance, and Nike sells but, it’s hit or miss with the person shopping. As weird as it may be, I saw a colleague wearing Ipath too… we are in fact, living in stranger times. Imagine thinking.
Yall are great, best skate podcast on the planet
My kid is stationed at Fort Myer in Virginia… We did the tourist thing and rode on one of those big tour buses. As you got on the bus they’d hand you a set of earbuds. The tour had a narrated audio… We we drove passed the plaza they went on to say how it was a famous skate spot. I thought it was super cool.
That is cool!
They didn’t buy Sole tech for the skate shoe brands. They bought it for the snowboard company thirtytwo. So they don’t give a fuck about the teams.
Bruh
I really wanted to like these, but I felt the tongue on them is just comically large. I ended up getting the normal version instead. If anyone watching is in eastern PA, Holistic stocks a great selection of them.
You tried them on?
Yes, tried on and walked around the store in them. They fit great, but just an aesthetic thing for me looking down at them. I might try to get over it as I prefer a mid/hi shoe.
Nice
Winkowski is off emerica I’m pretty sure saw him skating some converse last week
Those projects BAs were the shit. Still have a blue & navy, mint. Skated a shit load of the black & pink
These are sick
I thought so as well. A good looking shoe
neeeded this. Maybe ill cut the tongue down a bit
Curious if you’re still rocking this truck setup? And if so why? Crazy… it’s only been a month since you posted this. Cheers!
Cool my homie work at the local skate shop and he said he give me a good deal on these. Thought I watch a review before I copped. Thanks guys for the break down
When I saw the black/gold ones it instantaneously hit a spot. It dawned on me that my first Asics shoes that I bought two decades ago were their wrestling shoes with the same colourway.
Could you talk with Lurker Lou about his wild playground spots?
