1:00:40 this June, Alien actually is releasing some really nice reissues and a whole new EXP series. I think you should revisit them after their summer campaigns released. It’s actually pretty promising

For frozen venture bushings, the ace LOW replacement bushings work great. They won’t freeze up. The standard ace won’t fit, so it has to be the lows
Talking with my buddy I said something about how Krooked is one of the coolest brands and he said "seriously? Krooked is not relevant at all anymore." I was like "but Brad Cromer and Bobby Worrest and Mike Anderson are the best!" he's like "kids don't know who those guys are anymore." My feelings are still hurt.

I think I was just making a general statement towards your overall defending local territory vibe, I personally don't care about people like Cole or that guido kid on Enjoi 2.0 but you are correct, it is all subjective. Not hating on ya my man, just an observation.
But for instance, watching Asta, who is from your area and you always stick up for, is like watching grass grow for me, but like you said, that's the sad but true subjective aspect of skateboarding.

i like santa cruz, they've had some awesome riders over the years. i never had one of their boards until kinda recently, but i now have 3 of them - 8" everslick, 8.25", 9.25" eric dressen shaped deck. i had creature and sma boards, just not santa cruz specifically until now. i'm not married to a shape, but their boards are a bit steeper than i usually prefer. i would consider trying tom's board, it does look super tapered but i think it wouldn't be too crazy, would probably remind me of '90s boards. one thing i especially appreciate about santa cruz/nhs is they seem to keep people around - jeff kendall, ron whaley, eric dressen, etc. like they have a place for former pros whether they are skating or not.
I really enjoy my slappy trucks! Mine came without inverted KP's. I can't believe how tight they turn without wheelbiting. I have them on my oldhead setup with Dragon wheels and I can handle any cruddy streets no matter how rough, pebbly, or steep. Highly recommend.

After re-watching this a few times, really trying to gather my thoughts. I don’t want to just, continue agreeing with the same… feeling, as when someone else puts that same feeling, on. I don’t know. It’s difficult, I think having someone else , actually, who feels the same way. I think it’s hard, or even harder to imagine them putting themselves on camera, and talking about this stuff. Because I too, love skateboarding. But the only time I can call myself I think that, is when I’m skating. So , if I’m skating, 3 maybe twice a week at most, am I really a skateboarder still? Am I even good? Does switch, matter? Did learning it give me, any persuasion to continue? I think so. I’d also like to thank you, gentleman, for putting yourselves out in a community where I’d assume you would be ostracized. Never the less, I’m a failure of supporting you as well. Having revisited Olympia and talking briefly with a member of the community, he did say, they had DOA. And fuck, I blew it! And that’s , on me. And I recognize that. And it’s , truly , a shame. But again, being 21 and 24 are worlds of brain development apart. I should have also known, to start choosing 1 specific brand, and not being a little doll just paroling the wall for what’s good/awk graphic , that I would be willing to ride.
I out myself out there, trying at one time, to do skateboarding just a little different. I resorted to what I felt like was safe, and that I know, was wack.
What I’ve also realized, I turned down opportunities, because I also said No to specific people w/specific brand backing, and CHOSE ultimately to continue a roots feeling where I again, didn’t stray back from what I knew was safe.
I should have taken those chances. I should have put faith in those I DID truly believe in. I failed them. For maybe, what feels like, 6 years now. I would assume, skateboarding in my community wouldn’t want to have me anymore. But I still feel like I owe it to not only myself but the ones around me, to say I will not change because of that.
I will change because I only want to be better. I only want to, be better so other people are inspired to be, better.
That’s called being professionalism, even in a comment section. That’s being that, everyday for everyone. Even at home.
That’s hard. But I’ll try again. And I’ll still figure out or I have a collective of theory’s that … may just still be able to work. But thanks again. For being the people you are. And continuing to inspire me, to be better.
And that should say something.

happy you enjoy the pod. No hard feelings for not buying a board. I always felt the hardest part was brand awareness, and with a small brand and even smaller budget, its hard to get content out for people to see without it just being word of mouth.

He dropped like 3 parts in one year with unthinkable combos bangers , but weird that he couldn't move on the next step with Adidas and Lakai. I heard on 9club, Adidas told to him there wasn't a future for him for an official contract.

i like bones/mini logo wheels, some more than others. the x97 56mm v6 are really nice. most of my wheels are old and/or second hand. i don't really need any new gear, but i am a bit curious to try formula 4s. i think i would prefer the 97a but idk if they still make them

i like indys, didn't really try them until kinda recently, last few years. i like bigger wheels like 56-60, and i hate wheelbite so i like the height. i probably like venture as much or more, they each have a place. but i do own more indys. mini logo bushings fit indys, and they're quite nice. they don't have the weird plastic cores/washers like the bones, they're just a standard shape/size bushing like '90s doh-dohs. i have the indy forged hollow 139 chris joslins with white bushings and they seem harder than standard indy bushings, the standard orange seems too squirrely for me. i think indys especially shine for ledge/curb skating bc the meaty hangars take longer to wear down to the axle
A lot of the people that ride Zero just love the Skull, black and white aesthetic etc. The brand is washed, but a good logo even with mediocre execution still works for them i guess.

brands dont have to be on top. they support A LOT of skaters that arent even on our radar and thus keep the whole industry going. we tend to see mostly the guys on top but the iceberg beneath is what is essential for the thing we love
Indy has a 50mm truck they put out recently
50.5 hollow forged. Still higher than my venture low and 148 thunder
love the indi mids hope they didnt really stop making them. primitive is my favorite decks right now, agree with the colabs it is what keeps them making money and being able to invest in their team
i have some 149 mids but haven't tried them yet. they're still up on indy's site. if they do stop making them, there will be plenty out in circulation for awhile.
Curious list of brands, no Girl/Chocolate, FA/HOCKEY. I think it’s the bigger brands who have so much overhead that are most at risk to go under. Emerica and Lakai might be in trouble.

I’m going to say that was in reference to the featherlight style design they are still using. The salt and pepper ventures mike v rode in the 80’s surely existed prior to 1992. And we all know Rocco took Mike v on a venture trip in the late 80’s and swooped him up for world
