E46 M3 running a custom velocity stack conversion with ITG sock filters, this car also runs a Milltek mid section and silencer along with decat pipes. Its running a custom Alpha N map loaded onto a MSS54HP ecu with a MAP sensor plumbed in.

Turn off the F.. music!!
M performance is louder as it removes the resonator as well. But Akrapovic sounds deeper and truer. Guess it depends on personal taste if you want loud vs deep rumble

I had the same issue with the iDrive in my 320d 2015 Saloon / Sedan (F30 model). The iDrive unit was restarting every 20 seconds. Was told by local BMW garage that the head unit needed replacing and would cost around £900. Working in IT I thought the issue may be related to a software fault rather than a hardware fault, i.e. corrupted data causing the restart. So I deleted the personal data stored against the current driver profile and this cured the issue. The problem is you have to be very quick in initiating the deletion function in iDrive as the unit reboots every 20 seconds. You will see in the operating manual and loads of TH-cam videos show that you need to go through quite a few menu options to actually get to the "delete personal data" menu option. Then, when the delete starts the iDrive reboots before the cycle is completed. But I persevered for over 2 hours and finally the continuous cycle of deleting the personal data in 15 second intervals cleared the profile data and my iDrive is fully working again. I just had to re-pair my phone, setup my radio stations, etc, to get it back to how it was before the issue occurred. In my mind, sitting in my car continuously initiating the data deletion every 15-20 seconds for 2 hours was better than paying £900. Hope this helps other people out!

Hi I’m haveimg issues with my f80 m3 2016. I’ll be listening to music for 5 minutes and then it will just reboot buy itself. This will continue to happen. It’s starting to get very irritating. Can you help please. I can get the OBD lead/connection and have a laptop but not the software to update it.

My brother in laws 1 series which my father in law ordered new and has been driven very carefully and serviced has now got this problem and it’s uneconomical to repair! the badge is probably the most reliable thing on a BMW nowadays..

@@rajeshrai8193 No, the control unit unfortunately naked. So i have to replace it with the refurbished one. Dont go to the dealership, they ripped you off. I found a man who can do it, one in Nottingham and 1 in Derby close by my resident.

Thank you, I completed the upgrade to a 6WB last week, I did notice the range was not the same after the swap and coding, the 6WA showed 392km the 6WB displays 456km, not sure if this is something to be concerned about.

Hi,I have a BMW 335d 2016 model. The dab radio regularly loses service, is there an easy fix for this please. Thank you in advance.
I am having trouble updating software on my 64 plate (Sept 14) BMW 3 Series GT. Each time I try to update, using a pen drive, the idrive system shuts down around 28-29% and then restarts again. Main issue is with the iDrive system, as it seems to shut down when I turn the engine on initially, then takes few minutes before starting back up, including music and navigation system. During the summer months, iDrive has started to heat up and constantly shuts down and re-starts, especially if both radio and SAT NAV are working together. But if I turn off the SAT NAV, then the DAB radio system functions a lot longer, before shutting down and restarting again. Maybe I have two separate issues, one with the iDrive shutting down and re-starting; 2nd the software update not progression beyond 28-29% - as the iDrive system shuts down and restarts, in the process I have to re-start the software update process again. Any suggestion would be useful please. Many thanks. S

Hi mate, yes I got the software updated by a technician, who connected to my idrive system remotely. He charged me £100 but that seemed to have worked
